His pre-season form was actually pretty good. No idea what's happened to Russian the past two weeks. In fact his dip in form and confidence might say a bit about where the team is at as a whole.

I don't know why, but I'm starting to feel like we do have this.. All we need to do is get off to a good start. We do that, we win. This game will kick off our season. Bookmark it.

I firmly believe it's a lack of options or willingness to create options that is more the problem. Our disposal by foot is made to look ten times worse than it is because of this. I'd never accept a handout directly from Eddie. I will however accept him using any influence he might have to assist in fixing the sponsorship mess, and it is an absolute mess. I don't buy into the barking at shadows stuff.

The fact even Ed wants to helps says alot about the predicament we're in. I watched it and am conflicted. On the one hand I feel a bit dirty having the Collingwood President pass the hat around on our behalf. On the other hand his connections in media and the corporate world are invaluable. Some of it is posturing and ego no doubt, and his track record isn't great when it comes to looking out for the well-being of other clubs, but I do think he believes in the importance of the MFC for the competition. If it results in getting a couple of big new sponsors on board, I don't really give a rat's.
