  1. We'd be loopy not to jump at the chance to get Bennell. In terms of talent, he'd be our best player. Dropped his bundle at the beginning of the year but he's not on his pat malone. From the outside looking in he doesn't appear to be leadership material, but you can't have everyone being a leader. Ditto for Dixon. We are not "OK" for big forwards. We have Hogan. That's pretty much what we have going forward. The rest are making up the numbers. That is not to say that the focus is still the midfield, but if we can land Dixon then don't hold back. I have reservations on Aish being one of SA's favourite sons who is supposedly homesick as it is. Will Melbourne simply be a detour towards the inevitable return home? Due diligence needed.
  2. Pretty sure everyone, or a vast majority, is sick to death of discussing this. Roos will make the call on whether he plays or not. Mods, do the right thing.
  3. You mean to say you haven't heard the story of WYL breaking his radio when Toumpas' name was called out? That one is my favourite.
  4. I get your frustration Jesse. It hurts to hear it. But it would be silly for him to pretend as though the absence of Lewis and Hodge will significantly hurt their chances of a win. The gap between the two sides remains fairly vast. They should still win in a canter, with or without Lewis and Hodge. For what it's worth, one of the rare times I watched TFS in the lead up to the Richmond game, Garry was the only one who tipped us to win. Criticise him for his choice in coaching appointments, but not for this. Everytime I've listened to him he remains realistic and hopeful in his appraisal of the MFC, which is pretty much all you can ask for.
  5. Who knew all that "gun shot" practice from Saty would pay off?
  6. Handy outs if they get a holiday of at least two weeks, which they should do.
  7. Might be petty but I really hate the sight of the great Ronald Barassi with a blue and white scarf around his neck.
  8. If it was in Perth I'd give us basically no chance, but playing at the G is not their forte. It would still be a major upset. Their midfield is firing on all cylinders atm. We'll need some luck, including the umpires deciding not to screw the less fancied team this week.
  9. Agreed. Also have a bit more confidence in his marking ability. But Dawes did set the tone early last week, along with Kent. It will be up to others to do that this week.
  10. Bit tough on old man Judd who at least looked like he cared, but overall I agree. To lose by 75 points and also lose the tackle count 82-47 is a disgusting effort.Agree that it's unbelievably poor foresight from AFL to give the Blues so many Friday nights this season. We have 5 more of these debacles to come.
  11. Wow. Well, the depth is getting its first real test. Fortunate that Pedo is in decent form.
  12. I thought Grimes did look an improved player during NAB Cup. If he picks up where he left off there then he'll do fine. It's to his credit how he's taken playing at Casey in his stride. You could see in the rooms after both wins that he was genuinely rapt to get the win despite not being a part of it. Ultimate team player and clubman. With their dangerous smalls, Jetta's omission will hurt, but Grimes will understand his role and for whatever his faults you know you will get 100% effort.
  13. The only thing ruining the game for me is Dwayne Russell. The rest I can overlook.
  14. What sucks is that he was looking as good as I've seen him up until he got injured. His confidence seems to be growing more and more. Hopefully he slots back in to finish off the year strongly.
  15. This peanut is yelling in his face, and filming it, after Clarko has (reportedly) asked for him to back off. Clarko is surely within his rights to then act accordingly in order to remove what he deems a threat to his safety. 100% behind Clarko on this one.
  16. So Adelaide may not be the hot [censored] they think they are. Absolutely destroyed by the Dogs indicates they are a fair way off yet. He'd be mad to go to Geelong. Back in the race perhaps?
  17. Is currently leading the golden fist award on Fox Footy, if anyone cares. Votes are given 3-2-1 to the best defender each week.
  18. I'm a Jezza fan. Underrated on here. I hope he stays and the signs look good.
  19. interesting challenge at the selection table this week. It would be nice if Gawn could force his way into the team but he needs to show he can be more damaging as a forward. But whether Roos thinks Jamar and Dawes can get the job done against Freo's ruck combination is the question. Not convinced on Fitz, in general. 50/50 on Toumpas. Great that's he's getting more of the ball but what we don't need is someone who panics. Maybe comes in as the sub again with Michie to start, but wouldn't mind seeing him cuntin e to build confidence in the twos. As much as Tyson is out of form, his absence in the middle will hurt. Like for like in Pigdog perhaps? Grimes is the only certainty. The rest will be a mix of Bail, Toump, Pedo, Gawn and Pigdog. Really looking forward to this one. A bit of not a lot to lose and everything to gain. Just need to keep the momentum going forward with four competitive quarters that could make it interesting.
  20. May have to qualify my judgement on the Doggies.. Follow it up this week boys. Onward and upward,
  21. Stringer is in beast mode.
  22. ...against St Kilda. But yeah you're probably right. If Hogan does miss out he'll be getting one soon. It would be nice for it to be this game though, given it was a breakout game of sorts.
  23. Not to in any way downplay Hogan's game but I never bought into the Rance being "best KPD in the league!!!11!!" hype. He's a solid defender, but seeing Hogan outmark him on several occasions didn't shock me. McPharlin will be a better test for Hoges. And yes, give him what he wants. If he wants a Boyd-like contract, do it.
  24. Trying to get people kicked out of threads? I've done nothing of the sort. I enjoy Boss's posts. I just reject the insinuation that was made about personal gain from being critical of aspects of Watts' game. It's simply not true. Not in my case. You're welcome to stay. I just thought maybe you were due again to leave the site in a huff because you hate Demonland. Happy Anzac Day stu!
