Yes, Dunstall certainly strikes me as the headline seekng type. Come off it. Dunstall was also quick to point out how talented he is, but lets himself down with some of his efforts. Sometimes you just need to take it on the chin. Watts sounds like he has put his hand up and is keen to make amends so good on him.

The line about "our best ball user and decisonmaker" has become a bit of a throwaway. It wasn't on display last week, and it wasn't on display the week before. He's a brilliant kick and decisonmaker, when he has time and space. There has always been a little bit of hope winning out over reason. I'll be putting faith in Roos to make the right calls and he's backing the player in, as well as his own ability to get the best out of the player, which is great. As much as I like Watts the person, the team will always come before any individual for me.

Both Dunsatll and Brown singled Watts out on On The Couch tonight. Dunstall's word was "soft", noting that it wasn't a word that he likes to drag out often. Brown said that he could learn a thing or two off Jesse Hogan. A three game player. Do these two men also not know what they're talking about? Are they also just big meanies out to get Jack Watts? This goes far beyond two dropped marks. They showed footage of his efforts to compete throughout and they were even more damning on a second viewing. It's great that Roos is showing faith in him. He deserves another chance to make good. It doesn't warrant a "neener neener Watts is playing all you h8ers" response. Grow up. We all want to see Watts reach his potential. But even Roos himself stated that it is about how the player responds. Jack has his opportunity to respond.

Old chestnut - continues to divide and torment many
P-man replied to Soidee's topic in Melbourne Demons
I've got no problem with them making it their traditional fixture. Best not to rattle the cage too much. There are a few clubs who wouldn't mind taking QB off our hands. -
WARNING: POSITIVITY AHEAD As we head into round four, we are getting an early indication of the lay of the land. Prior to the season, many predicted the bottom sides to be some regulars of recent times in St Kilda and the Bulldogs, with Carlton to make a further drop as they finally come to grips with the state of their list. Whilst the Bulldogs have started a lot better than was predicted, a 70 point belting from the Hawks shows they are still a fair ways away and will struggle at times throughout the year with currently a very inexperienced 22. The other two have shown they will be bottom four material. Added to these teams are some unexpected names: - Brisbane, whose much hyped midfield has failed to make up for a lack of key position players - Gold Coast, who have fallen off the perch in dramatic fashion with no immediate signs of recovery - West Coast, whose B grade midfield is now coupled with an injury list that has exposed a lack of depth. In total, that is six teams that it doesn't take a wild imagination to see us beating and finishing above on the ladder. Then there are teams who could still push for finals but could just as easily finish mid table or below: - Richmond, the perennial plodders - Geelong, whose aura is finally diminishing with a heavier reliance on younger players, the majority of whom are yet to show much - Collingwood, also a young team with some stars filtered throughout. A tough ask but far from impossible. That's nine very beatable teams. You can throw in the annual upset against Essendon and it's ten. We still look every bit a developing side, but the potential for this season to be one to make a jump up the ladder remains high. I saw getting out of the bottom four as the pass mark. That remains the case, but with the above mentioned teams and the possibility of an upset or two, I'm starting to think that a finish of 10-12th is very much a realistic aim. Am I nuts?

Casey Scorpions v Frankston - Round 1, 2015
P-man replied to KC from Casey's topic in Melbourne Demons
I thought the same. Michie stood out. Pedo sounded like he did his best work in the first half which I didn't see. Grimes and Terlich still need to improve quite a lot with their kicking although it did look blustery. Spencer is an absolute monster. Ragdolls men to make them look like children. -

Not sure about the camera being behind a whopping great pole but a great initiative. How/why the club didn't inform supporters about this is odd. A Facebook post. Something. -

Listening on the radio. Pedo all over it. Just slotted another. -
Vince's performance yesterday will stick in the memory. Took a stand and shoved it right up em. He's a likeable fella is Bernie. Couldn't be happier that he's a demon.
-
Yes I'm sure they were torn up watching his best on ground performance in a Grand Final. Goddard,..lol. You've got to joking. Goddard is a star. Anyhow, Watts' performance absilutely deserves criticism and hopefully he can bounce back strongly.
-
Why would they frustrate me? They don't play for my team. But from a neutral perspective, whilst they haven't fully delivered on their talent and I'm sure would be cause for frustration, they've all reached a higher level than Watts.
-
If Grimes can be dropped and told to fight his way back in then Watts has a week to make up. If it's more of the same then he simply has to go. He was a total liability out there yesterday. The thing is he'll probably kick a couple of goals next week and do enough to hold his spot. Then the following week it will be the same timidness and zero impact. And around and around we go. There will never be a more frustrating player.

Stop poking the bear, stuie.

I agree that he just doesn't look well, so flu could be an explanation. We'll need him fit and firing against the Tiggers. Still has that kamikaze attack on the ball even when not 100%.
-
No they weren't. Brisbane are just in a very deep hole at the moment. They were kicking at 55% efficiency up til halftime, and still Richmond were only a few goals ahead. It was a downhill ski affair. They are a lacklustre team with lacklustre players and if we can kick straight we'll win and win well.

Imagine if Brisbane get up in this game. "Gentlemen, start your microwaves.."

Adelaide v Melbourne POST MATCH DISCUSSION - ROUND 3
P-man replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
Had a decent crack which was something to take away. Still had periods where we got battered in the midfield but the defence withstood the barrage which kept us in it during those periods of Crows dominance. Same number of scoring shots is a big tick. The failure to capitalise from simple chances is a big cross, as are the fundamental errors. It was the mistakes under no pressure that cost us, along with the poor goal kicking. T Mac continuing on with his solid form. Loved Berie sticking it up em. Brayshaw to start next week. Hungry for it. Jeffy had a mare in front of goal but will come good. Vanders and Newton provided the contribution you'd expect. Hogan's contested marking is a beautiful thing. Watts might have tested my last nerve. Just does not want the footy or the contact. I want to like him but insipid displays like today make it hard to do so. Jamar's tap work continues to confuse. Tyson being slightly out of sorts in the first few games is hurting. Badly need him to lift a couple of gears and get his hands on it. Overall a little bit of respect regained and enough momentum to carry into next week. -
Agreed. That was an onslaught and overall they held up very well. Now to see if we can actually turn up in the second half to keep this a contest.
-
McDonald back on, thank god.
-
Well done Watts. Thought it through.
-
T Mac in trouble
-
Watts needs to make amends for that. He's absolutely gifted them back some momentum. Fantastic start otherwise. As usual it's the simplest of errors that are the most costly. Garland first. Then Watts. Twice.

Two sitters dropped in a row.
