  1. Only the despicable Barrett would consider it a good idea to air this whilst leaving out the exact nature of the alleged sledge, something that we still don't know. No good was ever going to come out of making this so public. I will however say that if this comes down to Clark's word vs Lake's, I know who I'll be more inclined to believe, and it ain't Mitch. But whatever. Life post-Mitch is starting to look pretty rosy so he can do what he likes. We've got the Prince and we just might have the last laugh. I'd also add in response to WJ that I really can't understand the continued grievances over Scully. I mean really? Still? The kid was barely out of his teens and was asked if he wanted to become a multi-millionaire. He'd have almost been foolish not take it. The "lying to Jimmy" tact doesn't hold much weight with me either. Just get over it for heaven's sake. We've made out like bandits in the Scully scenario.
  2. An icon of the game and a gentleman to the end.
  3. Pft, no chance. Vanders showed in emphatic fashion on the weekend that he belongs in the best 22.
  4. McDonald v Cameron is going to be worth the ticket price alone. Potentially a fantastic duel.
  5. Alright fess up, who was mean to Sauce?
  6. Bit harsh. It's quite a picturesque ground and when it fills up the atmosphere isn't bad, although when it goes quiet it goes eerily quiet. I remember attending a GWS game back when Folau was still playing, and when he laid a tackle you could hear the crunch loud and clear. You are also often at a good distance for providing constructive feedback to opposition players if you so choose.
  7. Just a tad. A few more weeks and I'm there, although I think I might prefer "Oxenberg". But it's certainly ahead of "Petraccattack".
  8. He'd be one of Clint's first selected. (And mine...mancrush confirmed)
  9. Fair call. Well, I'm stuffed if I know what they're gonna do to squeeze him in. Dawes will want to play well cause whoever he replaces will be stiff.
  10. I know that, and what I'm saying to you is that if you think Dawes and Frost are miles apart in their ability to ruck, then we differ in our opinion. Dawes isn't a great second ruck, granted, but neither is Frost on current evidence. Frost doesn't deserve to go, but someone has to, and on reflection dropping either of JKH or Kent is robbing the side of much needed speed and skill on the outside which made a difference on Saturday.
  11. DIsagree. It's not exactly like for like as I pointed out, but Frost is a hell of a lot closer to Dawes than he is to Pencil, in every facet. Not sure how much time Frost actually ended up in the ruck but he won a total of 4 hitouts. I can't see Dawes being much worse, and he is the more experienced forward who will provide the more formidable foil for Hogan in the forwardline. I really think we are debating what will be a formality, that is Dawes returning to the side. Someone has to make way and dropping one of the small mid/fwds runs the risk of going in too tall.
  12. I'll be disappointed to see Kent dropped, especially after taking an elbow to the face and playing out the rest of the game like the black knight (disagree that he was "shaken up", he seemed anything but). But I'm resigned to the fact that whoever gets dropped there will be disappointment. Kent, JKH and Garlett are the new three amigos. Going like for like, Frosty might actually end up being the unlucky one, the problem being that Frost is more versatile in where he can be played and has that amazing speed for a big man, but Dawes also has the tank to get around the ground. If you're looking at who is the better forward of the two, it's a fairly easy choice. Dawes just needs to be able to take on relief rucking duties, which neither he nor Frost are all that flash at. Frost like everyone played well but he made some poor decisions at times which could've been very costly. It's the little things that might split them apart.
  13. haha yep, that was my favourite too.
  14. Glad they posted a full replay that includes them running out to Hells Bells for the first time. Loved it. That's a keeper.
  15. I'm glad we're going there. We have some unsettled business at that ground. We need to notch up a win there, and after watching Rd 1, it's nice to believe that we can.
  16. I don't think he's dumb. You don't win the number of premierships he has as a player and coach by not knowing your stuff. He is however showing signs of age. When Taylor was laying motionless in the middle of the ground after smashing his head into the turf, all Lethal could bring himself to talk about was how amazing it is that they can remove the cricket pitches so quickly. It was weird more than dumb. Mind you he is one of the dirtiest players of all time so perhaps it just didn't faze him.
  17. And North getting absolutely belted. Very close to the perfect weekend.
  18. Watts was always going to improve when the team did. He looks a much better player when his work rate to move to the right spots and continue presenting is rewarded. The physical side will continue to be a work in progress, but his talent isn't in doubt and never has been. Goals like the one he kicked from the boundary are team lifting goals. Invaluable.
  19. Dwayne doesn't know any better. He's just a complete and utter moron, with arrogance in equal measure to his stupidity. Some of the lines he was rolling out last night were beyond ridiculous, even for him. "It brings tears to your eyes to have witnessed this". You would think we had just witnessed one the greatest sporting spectacles of all time. It was a Round 1 scrub match that was made close by the poor quality of forward entires and overall skill execution.
  20. Garland did surprise me. I hadn't written him off but he was less than convincing in the NAB. He showed he can return to his 2013 form which would be a huge boost to the back six.
  21. Bloody awful.
  22. Lumumba moment was huge, but the moment I knew it was our day and that perhaps our luck is about to change was when Ablett fumbled in the goal square.
  23. Cheers Andy, no worries. I'll think about running it again.
  24. JKH did some very nice things yesterday. He plays on quickly and generally makes good decisions under pressure. I'm almost leaning towards just the one change and leaving Dawes out. If it ain't broke etc. It's Dawes' own fault he wasn't playing yesterday. If he has to wait for his return he can have no complaints.
  25. Jeffy just needed to capitalise better but he was terrific. That running goal out of the centre was a thing of beauty. How would you feel watching yesterday as a Carlton fan? Almost like their very own Mitch Clark, minus the burning hatred.
