  1. A very ordinary first quarter but a much improved performance after that where we rarely lost momentum. Should've been a much bigger margin in the end. The two way running game is starting to really show and defensively we set up very well with most scores conceded from silly turnovers I think it was the best overall performance of the three games which bodes well for Round 1. T Mac made amends for last week. Jeffrey is a star and forward pressure was top notch. Kennedy a lot better and adds some much needed speed and poise forward of centre. Tyson and Viney solid but still untidy with foot skills. Salem has the tools to be a top 5 player in the league at some point in his career. With Brayshaw, Vanders, Petracca, Dunn, Lumumba and Trengove to come into the side that played today, we're poised for a good season.
  2. Said for a while that he's too long in the tooth for the job now. But you'd still take him every day of the week and twice on Sundays over Dwayne. Nathan Brown though. Seriously Sandy. You can get the captain's name right surely.
  3. Horrendous 5-10 minutes.
  4. These loopy handballs will be the death of me.
  5. Didn't see the incident but Mathieson didnt come back onto the ground after they took him off. That doesn't bode well for Jezza's defence.
  6. It was amusing seeing Hardwick talk with disdain about a "practice match" after all the BS from coaches and players about how much they want to win NAB Challenge games. He definitely cracked last night.
  7. Daisy looks absolutely cooked. It's almost sad watching him now.
  8. Yeah he's definitely gone. It's just a matter of where he goes.
  9. I'm only basing this on the videos, but they really need to serve/collect meals outside of the speeches. The continual *clink clink clink* of plates and cutlery kind of takes away from the stirring messages being delivered on stage.
  10. I'd be interested in what specific community engagement activities the Eels have done that we haven't done. When and where they visited. It seems a bit iffy to me. Have we won a game there yet? Financials aside, it hasn't been a resounding success story on the field. The conditions have tended to have a knock on effect the following week as well. At least they have appeared to.
  11. I've come to the conclusion that leadership groups are overanalysed. A club needs leaders but the official titles are mainly nice for the individuals involved. Will Dunn no longer be consulted on matters where he would've been last season? I doubt it. I'm sure Jonesy will seek his input all the same. My gut feel on leadership is the club now has some good leaders and is in the process of developing some great ones.
  12. Unless they decide to change the rules, we can use the 2017 first rounder. It's there in black and white.
  13. Great shots six. Trenners looks in ripping nick. What a story this could be.
  14. I'm looking for is a strong start. Started poorly in the first two games and been caught napping defensively. That and a reinstalment of faith in Tom McDonald.
  15. Saints have already beaten their tally from last year having just cracked 33K.
  16. Which other fully fit players have not featured in any of the NAB Cup games? Are Hunt, Michie or Wagner in the best 25? No game time at all in the pre-season just seems a bit odd considering that we know he can play.
  17. Could it be a disciplinary thing? Am also scratching my head.
  18. This is how the thread should have kicked off.
  19. 2 NABs down, 1 NAB to go. FB: Garland Dunn Jetta HB: Salem T Mac Vince C: Tyson N. Jones Bugg HF: Kent Pedersen Watts F: Harmes Hogan Garlett R: Gawn Viney Brayshaw INT: vandenBerg Oliver Grimes Lumumba E: M Jones Michie Kennedy Frost Kennedy is a likely inclusion as part of the new mosquito squad, but I'm not wholly convinced as yet. Same with Frost. Likely but has not put forward a strong enough case for mine. Matt Jones is right on the periphery which is a big jump from where I had him previously. I like Stretch and ANB but maybe the coaches are taking a more cautious approach with them.
  20. Yeah nah, it was definitely reckless. Gave him a decent shove and I doubt Garland could've done more than he did to stop himself going over.
  21. The question of whether it's okay to be unhappy or critical of a win seems to be a recurring issue on Demonland. It reached fever pitch after the win against Brisbane last season, and it's certainly raised its head again here. At the risk of being a fence sitter, I think both sides to the argument have some merit. I can see how perceived negativity after a win when we are starved for wins could frustrate, and similarly I can see how merely being satisfied with the result against the "opposition on the day" can seem illogical. As a peace offering to both sides, I would reiterate PD's point that it is still only the pre-season. Maybe we could take a collective breath and save the heated debate for when the real stuff tstarts. Merely a suggestion.
  22. Get on board the Viv train mate. You know you want to.
