That is hardly a compelling list. PJ says we need some more seniority in the backline and I fully agree with the great man. If we can get Hibberd for something reasonable it's a no brainer. Early tears from Woosha and co suggests they will make this as difficult as they can, as they tend to do.

He and Pedo are interchangeable. It isn't a debate any longer is it? Who comes in should be dictated purely by form. Was a mixed bag for Dawesy yesterday but I like his second efforts. He looked fit. He also seems a very positive influence on the ground in terms of how he gets around the younger players.
-
You were the first person I thought of when he took that overhead mark :D
-
He brings other qualities to the table with his genuine aggression and ability as a tagger. You need role players as well as stars. I also think he will get better with age. He's a long way from hitting his peak.
-
Was keen to get him and he hasn't let me down. Okay, there was that kick to Stretch at the death against North, but other than that, he hasn't let me down. Yeah alright, that shove on an injured Riewoldt wasn't a great look. But he apologised. Other than that, he hasn't let me down.

We're not playing like a finals side yet. Yesterday was great, but there were still ALOT of mistakes that better teams would've punished. Port could possibly take someone like West Coast's spot but that's the only change I can realistically see happening. For us I think finals become a more realistic aim next year.

Just looked at the thread. It's a weird feeling seeing your words quoted on Bomberblitz. I wouldn't recommend it. Many seem resigned to Hibberd leaving. Sounds like he is very tight with Melksham and Goodwin and the ban has hit him hard. Hurley and Hibberd would be amazing but it's harder to see Hurley leaving. I've seen a few on various forums floating the idea of Hogan for pick 1 + Hibberd. Fortunately there's been a sane person standing by to knock it on the head.

Talking Footy's post match discussion entailed a 30 second discussion of "how good is Max Gawn?" and a 7 minute discussion of "how bad are Collingwood?". Watson declaring that the loss marks them being at their lowest point this season. One day, Melbourne will get total credit for a win and the opponent won't be deemed at crisis point. One day.

And the verdict is?

Sam THE MAN Frost (defender extraordinaire)
P-man replied to picket fence's topic in Melbourne Demons
You really are riding this joke into the ground, and I love it. -
True. By his standards in particular it was.
-
They should consider a name change to Bernie's B! tch FC.
-
Wagner was actually pretty good early, but he's the only one who had an average day overall. Oliver was a bit scrappy at times. Pretty much everyone else played well. No unforced changes this week.
-
Tough today. 6. Gawn 5. Vince 4. Tyson 3. Kent 2. N Jones 1. Frost HM: T Mac, Bugg, Hogan, Petracca
-
Foot on the throat now please.
-
Haha, you are a character, I'll give you that.
-
Thanks Channel Seven for reminding me that the Goo Goo Dolls were a thing.
-
Hahaha.. This from the guy who reckons Garlett has "stopped trying" since his contract extension. Remarkable stuff.
-
That's my second favourite moment of Bugg in a Melbourne jumper. The first obviously being the shushing of the Richmond cheer squad.
-
Inclined to agree. Petracca though. My god.
-
Maybe he really is worth $700K? He's been outstanding in this first half. His best footy is elite.

It's still hard to gauge where Carlton are at as a club. They would certainly take winning over losing, but with the age profile of the team they are fielding every week, it feels like the recent on field success is little more than a false dawn. The real test comes when you are relying more on the likes of Curnow, McKay and Silvagni. For any criticism that can be levelled against Melbourne this season in terms of up and down performance, we know where we are at as a club and are getting games into youngsters for them to slowly graduate together as a group.

Meh, what's the point of providing feedback on it? The guy is doing his best and it's not really a make or break issue. I don't even read Burgo's articles as they are just a couple of sentences with the rest comprising quotes from interviews I can watch for myself. As for his interviewing, I even found Robbo to be better at that. He is more engaging and able to extract a bit of insight and personality out of the players. Burgo is vanilla sponge cake when it comes to his media role. Whether or not that is a good thing is up to the individual.

Burgo's interviews are a waste of time, let's be honest. Always the same questions and routine head nodding. Oscar is a lot more laid back in the latest edition of the Demons podcast. Well worth a listen.
