POST MATCH DISCUSSION - Round 21
All we need to know at the moment. The problem isn't kicking winning scores, it's keeping the opposition from kicking winning scores. The Access All Areas video shows a few examples of why/where we're falling short in that regard. Still got a massively inexperienced list, and while players may be strong in one area, they're still either not strong across the board, or making poor decisions on what they need to be prioritising. The Salem/Papley was a classic case, where Salem is trying to juggle his role as clearance/disposal conduit (standing off the play, waiting for the ball to come out of a stoppage), with his role as a defender. He got it wrong, and it won't be the first time, but give him another season or two and he'll get better at that kind of decision-making.

Oh for god's sake.

Jesse Headed for Scans (13/8)
You forgot James Harmes' post-game interview. Definitely a major factor in Jesse's foot issues.

Who is our Forward coach?
Nice theory. If it were true. We've been beaten this year by teams who scored lower than what we did on Sunday. We've also kicked a winnable score (over +/- 12 goals) in the majority of matches we've lost. For some ideas on where we *are* losing games, watch the Access All Areas video on the AFL site, starting at about 3:25. They're not talking about the forward line.

Who is our Forward coach?
Go on then ... how many games have we thrown away with bad (= inaccurate) goal kicking?

Harmes post game interview.
Interview is fine. Of course.

POST MATCH DISCUSSION - Round 21
a) Poor disposal coming into I50. b) we just don't have the depth to cover for the losses of Viney (especially), Hibberd, Melksham, Lever (especially) and even Joel Smith. The players who are covering for them are just that bit inexperienced at this level, or lacking in ability at this level. c) overall inexperience. The poor decisions from the likes of Oliver and Spargo when they had set shots but ended up turning the ball over were but two glaring examples.

Who is our Forward coach?
The highest scoring team in the league needs an overhaul of the forward coaching. Right.

Changes vs Sydney
Talk about revisionism. Hunt was OUT of the side because he wasn't getting near it. Now, he's had a huge slab of the season out, but after one very average game back in the VFL, he's a "must in"?

Chris Judd in the Age
Woah ... this is just delusional.

Chris Judd in the Age
With a team that was MUCH more experienced than ours. Even then Ablett had 120+ games, and alongside him they had the likes of Scarlett, Ottens, Mooney, Corey, Ling, Chapman, Harley, Milburn all of whom were 150+ gamers (or close to), not to mention players such as Enright, Johnson, Bartel and Kelly (amongst others) who were 100+. We have nothing like that experience.

Chris Judd in the Age
Yes, got that part, but it goes further than that, it's experience across all positions that counts. Look at that last length-of-the-ground play from Geelong on Saturday: Ablett (315) to Stewart (38) to Menzel (67) to Hawkins (226) to Duncan (174) to Tuohy (162).

Those stats should be pinned to the top of every forum on Demonland. Though you missed out Gawn (91), Hogan (68), Lever (67), Oscar Mac (54) etc.

We're 2 seasons away from being the side that many on here think we are.
-
Name three good things
Worth noting. Once again. Even Gawn doesn't have many more than that.

Should O.Mac and JKH Play A Game For The Dees Again?
Not half as woeful as this little contribution from you. Pathetic.

Casey Demons v Geelong VFL - Round 16
It seems so, but he needs another couple of weeks apparently. Maybe Kent next cab off the rank, though not sure where he's at on the comeback trail.
