  1. Yes. And he left because he didn't want to play in the back line, but be a star forward - which is why he was recruited at the Pies. It's only when that didn't work out (again) that he was moved back.
  2. WTF ... Lewis had more rebounds than any other player on the field.
  3. Amongst both teams he had most possessions , equal most marks, and highest number of rebound 50's, all taken care of with a disposal efficiency higher than all but one Collingwood player (who had 3 kicks), and all but 3 of ours. He also spent more time on the ground than any other player out there (94%). But heh, zero impact.
  4. Still too early for Petty. One inexperienced back (Smith) is enough for the moment.
  5. Lewis? 33 disposals (most of any player on the field), 9 marks (equal most of any player on the field) and 8 rebound 50's (also highest of any player on the field) ... that Lewis?
  6. I wouldn't be too critical of Brayshaw - Tom Phillips has been huge for them all year, but Brayshaw shut him out of it today. But then that cost us as we lost Brayshaw's drive.
  7. They brought the intensity, we didn't. We didn't handle Cox - though not sure what the solution was in any case - but it was losing around the clearances that's the biggest concern. Probably look at Tyson in, but we needed more from the likes of Harmes and Petracca for starters, as well as bigger games from the likes of Jones and Viney. Brayshaw seems to have been sacrificed to keep Tom Phillips quiet, which worked, but then we lost his outside run and disposal. I also just don't see Pedersen's place here going forward, would rather put time into Weideman - and I wonder if Vince mightn't have played his last game in the Red and Blue? It's not just that he's slowing down, one of his trump cards was his smarts and disposal, but that seems to be going backwards by the week. Problem there though is who replaces him? Wagner? Petty? Still, I for one would have taken 8 and 4 at the turnaround, let's see if we can use this to learn from and regroup.
  8. Lewis isn't the problem, it's further up the ground and around the ball.
  9. Hard to see us pinching this one now. That last goal was the one we didn't need. Will be interesting to see what happens going forward now, have a few players been found out when the pressure is really on?
  10. 27 tackles to 16 (for us).
  11. Collingwood bringing it. Gonna need to step up.
  12. Perhaps, but I can't see any clubs changing coaches this year?
  13. Only a matter of time before there's an injury, even a 1-weeker. We're not going to get through the next 11 rounds without someone from the midfield coming out.
  14. Has Pedersen played enough games to be eligible for VFL finals (6 games I believe)?
  15. With Stretch as the emergency, Garlett for Hannan if he doesn't get up.
  16. Wonder where that leaves him as a possible Lever replacement.
  17. Tim Smith? Very quiet. If Weideman (or Pedersen?) play a blinder, could be under pressure as third tall/relieving ruck.
  18. Nice win, slogged it out. But bet they're glad to have the extended break, looked tired.
  19. After you. No, after you. No, after you, I insist. etc.
  20. Yes, but it just confirms how much like getting a camel through the eye of a needle winning a GF is. You just need everything, from the smallest to the biggest, to go right. Also confirms how little it takes for it all to go belly up.
  21. Just to say, as someone who lives in Paris: I walk our dog most mornings in a local park. The only person there who isn't carrying dog-poo bags is ... me. (I figure it's good fertiliser?) Paris is a bit like Oscar McDonald - you see what you want to see.
  22. They have to do the full warm-up and prep as if they're going to play. They're only free to do their own work once the game starts. Standard practise.
  23. So are we a destination club yet?
  24. Whatever - but they still had 14 (I believe) of last year's GF side, plus Gibbs and Ellis-Yolman, plus Doedoo who's supposed to be the second coming.
  25. Re Garlett, Tyson etc. getting back in ... we're not going to get through the season without injuries, perhaps the odd suspension - spots will open up. I suspect also they might start resting/rotating players - September now looking increasingly likely (without wanting to put a jinx on it)
