  1. I reckon it's more likely Jamar would be subbed out than subbed in, but we'll see.
  2. Casey has a bye this week so he won't be finding any form if he is dropped.
  3. Spencer cried a little inside each game Gawn played. I'd probably pick Gawn over Spencer right now, let alone when we start talking about potential.
  4. It isn't, but it normally works out that way.
  5. Obviously they don't spend enough on facilities etc
  6. Cue Schwab - this is our home, the rest are just tenants
  7. The thing is that generally, the gap-fillers are older types, so you don't want to go too early or else they'll be past their best once you're in the 'window'. I think we're probably too far off right now.
  8. It's at 5PM today. Just to clarify, he's simply having his case heard at the tribunal, as opposed to appealing in the way Trengove did.
  9. I wasn't talking about whether he has the pace of agility to handle Nahas, I was responding to the assertion that the footy department doesn't have a problem with Bartram's disposal/decision-making. Are you talking about being replaced on our list? I think they've already been replaced in our best 22.
  10. I'm sure they'd be happy to replace him in the 22 if there was a better option, but Bartram has some good qualities that we don't see in others at the moment. Bartram is much better one-on-one than Bennell.
  11. That's an empirical claim that's hard to test. However, I think at least a couple would have, just like only a couple of Melbourne supporters embrace the crazy.
  12. Nice analogy. If you're talking about media, they're always looking for a narrative and last year it was a young team on the rise. With some bad losses to top teams this year the narrative for the media has changed - that it's to be expected is a boring sell.
  13. As if. There were plenty of nervous nelles at Collingwood, Carlton, Essendon, etc.
  14. I'm not an oldie, but no problems I can see why you'd have 5 of those in the 22 - it's getting tough now.
  15. I'm going to assume that Jamar comes in for Gawn, but there might be 1-2 other changes (in particular, Gysberts). On that basis, here are the changes: Johnson (gone) -> Martin Dunn (form) -> Petterd Wona (unavailable) -> Howe McDonald (gone) -> Moloney Bail (injured) -> Morton Davey (injured) -> Nicholson Bruce (gone) -> Strauss
  16. The unavailability list (ordered by weeks): Mark Jamar (knee) - test Colin Garland (jarred ankle) - test Luke Tapscott (hamstring) - 1 week Rohan Bail (knee) - 2 weeks Neville Jetta (hand) - 2 weeks Aaron Davey (knee) - 4 weeks Michael Newton (foot) - 4 weeks Jack Fitzpatrick (ankle) - 4-6 weeks Austin Wonaeamirri (personal) - indefinite Jack Grimes (foot) - season Jake Spencer (knee) - season We're now missing ~4 of our best 22 (excluding the 'tests'), which I think is the best result in a fair while.
  17. Excellent to hear. Thanks, KC.
  18. Fair enough. I can also see where you're coming from and think Hawkins could be better than what's suggested in this thread but I think it's overstating it to say he's got a gig in one of the best teams. He only played so many games this year because they were hoping he'd run into some form. Prismall is another guy who was talked up a heap because he was on the fringe of a good side, but has not done much since coming to Essendon - he's still on the fringe (perhaps unfairly, but hey).
