  1. Indeed. It was terrible to watch.
  2. Each to their own. I've picked up plenty of scarves over the years - enough to give a few away - and was happy with the products on offer this year. I picked up a tie, but the three blokes in front opted for pashminas. Fwiw, I thought the Bulldogs caps looked terrible, and wouldn't have wanted one. Pretty poor, yeah - I'd suggest contacting the Club. I also had an issue with the MFC store closing ~20 mins earlier than the advertised time, which was a pain after making a fairly long trip into the city. I realise the onus is on the Club to ensure that Club events run smoothly, but I'm not sure what they can be expected to do in that situation.
  3. Check the Sandringham post-game thread - BB says that Maric played, and showed something.
  4. I hadn't heard that, but wholeheartedly agree.
  5. Reasonably amusing, but the snow jokes will be wearing thin in a couple of weeks if we don't get a win soon. Long bow to nail Gardner to the cross for this
  6. Correlation doesn't equal causation. I imagine leaders are more likely to become coaches than others.
  7. Truth. I don't see why you're upset though - it was a good decision, IMHO. We're not going to be a contender, so a decent draft pick works out alright in terms of list management. Given TJ's apparent off-field indiscretions, it's probably a step in the right direction in terms of the 'culture' too. Talking of off-field issues, I heard TJ tried to pick a fight with a guy at The Chalk Hotel on Saturday night.
  8. What he needs to do is up his work-rate, running hard when the opposition has the ball, both when chasing, and when his man is a potential receiver.
  9. Hehe. He certainly did look pretty skinny out there on Saturday.
  10. Cousins is too old. Decent rucks - and particularly CHF's - aren't generally thrown away by Clubs...particularly if we're talking under 28s. I thought Ingerson was pretty good for us. Fair call on most of the others, although Vardy gave us more than the rest. Anyhow, I can't see the point in picking up recycled players unless they're quite young.
  11. Don't get me wrong - much of it was good. However, some of it (ie. MFC's relationship with the AFL) was presented in a similar manner to contrary arguments on the topic - in a fairly broad and general way.

    Rumours

In an article on the MFC site I read White say there was no fracture in the team, and hadn't been in the time he'd been there. When I read the comment, I didn't know what he was referring to, but perhaps it was this. I wouldn't use the term mediocre, but yes, I agree. Green's good enough to play in a premiership team, and would find a spot on another AFL list if he was available. Sylvia's ridiculously over-hyped on this site. That said, he may turn out to be a good footballer, but could just as easily be a 'coulda-been' - and sooner, rather than later.
  13. It's pretty tough when your team is getting smashed. That said, in the four games I've seen Weetra play this year (two pre-season + the two H&A games), I've not seen much to like.
  14. It's not very surprising that the vast majority of visitors to this site are contributing financially to the Club.
  15. I agree with your sentiments regarding both Wheatley and Davey.
  16. Hardly. While some find fault with his run, I thought that was when he looked his best. Far worse was the casual running when chasing - too soft defensively, and needs that to be brought to his attention. It's interesting to see the tide turn on Weetra - I didn't think many were with me last week when I felt he had been pretty average in round one (and also in the two pre-season games I attended)! I'm not writing him off, but can't see how his form has deserved a spot...or the plaudits from some on this board. Yes, and it was terrible. It reminded me of Grgic, and I almost feel dirty saying that.
  17. When compared to winning Tatts - can't reall which day - I read that there's triple the chance of getting hit by lightning...
  18. I think it's too early to be writing these guys off, and I think Dunn's showed a little in his time at AFL level. NB: I agree with Waltham33's assertion - Dunn hasn't looked great down back.
  19. As did most of the other panelists, it seems. I also think that Bailey was a good choice, and Sheeds wrote a nice column the other day on how Bailey had what it takes to Coach. Saying we should drop X, Y, and Z is fine, but you need to replace them with better players in order to get a better result. I'm sure Rivers will be back in the side when fit, and the Club are no doubt developing Martin (and the other 40-odd players on the list). It was a good decision. I'm not kidding anyone. ...and the guy that got them there / kept them there / coached them for x number of years. No, give me a break. You're normally not prone to hyperbole, but that is ridiculous.
  20. Same, particularly as it was shaping to be a pretty average day, weather-wise.
  21. MFC site - - Sun 30th @ ~7PM
  22. It's hardly the same. We could have secured, via trading for picks (or player(s)), some young guns - in terms of draft # at least - who would have had a reasonable amount of games under their belts by now. Given that there are plenty of guys who are wrth of a delisting, the departure of any guys that 'jumbo returns' was referring to will just give us extra draft picks in the mid-late rounds.
