  1. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm guessing we don't have two because of financial restrictions, considering the Kangaroos are the only other clubs with just one. If that is the case, does anyone know what sort of $ clubs need to put up to take on a trainee?
  2. 'Buyer beware' doesn't mean that people who have shelled out their hard-earned to see their team play won't care. You asked the question of 'who cares?' - it's quite clear that some will! Furthermore, if M9 is correct, Demetriou has previously moved to allay fears that games such as this would be moved. It's fair enough to be pleased that we have another game at the 'G - and I am - but I also have empathy for people who have forked out to travel interstate and support their team, only to have the game switched.
  3. I imagine a few of the guys and gals who have paid for airfares and accom 'give a flying fig'
  4. Would it have been worth delisting him and getting pick 70 in the draft, or another PSD pick? You can't turn over the whole list in one season.
  5. Great stuff, thanks There's an interesting report on Demonology that coves a bit more, for those that are interest. The MFC site also has text of the Chairman's speech and a short AGM wrap.
  6. As far as I know - orignally drafted, then delisted, thrown a lifeline via the rookie draft, and then re-added to the senior list. Someone - Jaded? - mentioned this recently in another thread.
  7. Fwiw, I thought Sampi was ~95kgs now, not when he was playing. If so, the comparison may be valid, considering that Sampi would have no doubt weight significantly less in his playing days.
  8. Being athetically gifted doesn't preclude you from being smart, and I'm sure you've noted Bailey talking about how he'd like to have the players contribute ideas etc.
  9. I'm happy that we've used the PSD and rookie drafts to bring in a few talls. We need those types more than a Sampi, IMHO.
  10. I think Dalrot's point is that, while many might play netball, many either don't actively follow the game outside of their own matches (ie. the reference to mixed netball teams, etc).
  11. It's not the memberships, sure - but it's what X amount of members gets you. Collingwood wouldn't be brokering the same sorts of sponsorship deals with the membership figures of a MFC. Anyhow, a bit off track for this thread...
  12. There's little point in us training him etc, when we have a 1/16 chance of being able to recruit him.
  13. Could say the same about your election prediction
  14. A little harsh on Davey, perhaps?
  15. Strange interpretation of Gardner's comments - I'm sure the AFL won't come to that conclusion...
  16. As I indicated, I'm interested to hear why people think he has 'underachieved'. What makes Miller an underachiever and someone else simply not good enough?
  17. Where's the line between underachiever and not up to scratch? Has Miller 'underachieved' in not cementing a best 22 spot, considering the size and turnover of lists in footy? Who sets expectations on players? It wasn't like he was a high draft pick.
  18. One person posted that on this forum. I asked them for the source, but alas I don't think there was a reply. I haven't heard it anywhere else until now. Source?
  19. Does indeed seem pretty harsh on Prymke.
