  1. Yep, HeraldSun had their scoop & were trying to stop her from telling other news outlets.
  2. I think the half back flank is too important and area in modern football to have "passengers".
  3. Jeez, well when you twist the reality of the situation to suit your agenda, the answer is easy... I'd take the mid-sized forwards. But that proves nothing.
  4. Why do you think they have forked out for her accommodation now? Because she is selling papers for them. Nice little symbiotic relationship they have going.
  5. He's not a good enough role player to play HBF in a premiership team. We're not talking nuggety BP, do-a-bit-of-everything utility, tagger or backup ruckman. A back flanker needs to be able to do what he does and provide drive from the backline. He's not good enough in the latter.
  6. As far as I'm concerned, it's conclusive. Nixon must have slept with the girl. There is clear video footage of him walking near a building, probably the hotel she was staying in, and then getting into a car! It was clearly sometime during a day. Very possibly 7:15am on the day after Valentine's Day. I'll let you all draw your own conclusions, but he's clearly guilty. I mean, how much more evidence do you want??
  7. Well that's 1 down. Looking dead on their feet against the dogs too. Out in straight sets.
  8. Or that dee-luded lives in...
  9. Ok, assuming you don't get what I mean, a premiership team might be able to squeeze in one of those fringe players, often due to injury, but a team will not win a flag with a handful of these players in the side.
  10. Looks like they'll probably lose both games today too. Poor Norf.
  11. Dead right, Voss doesn't have many petrol tickets left, but I put a lot of blame on those that appointed him. The amount of control he was given, coupled with inexperience, was a surefire recipe for disaster. No senior experienced mentor on-board to guide things. Terrible overestimation of the playing list (& possible recruits). And Joel Mac is not a match-winner. At this stage, they are better having a kid developing in the spot he'd take up. The result of a recent NAB cup match is hardly relevant. It's not even real NAB cup! A twisted watered down version.
  12. How many mid-sized forwards can we have in the forward line? Surely we need some true talls and smalls.
  13. No, they're not fringe players. Moloney doesn't have too long left though. Is he really only 26? I thought he'd be a year or 2 older. Doesn't matter, Voss was right in a way. I doubt he's a premiership player. And I'm not so sure he'd walk into Brisbane's side, like many claim. He'd have to contend with Adcock, Drummond, Rockliff and a host of others who can play HBF. And they are in a rebuilding stage, so need to play the kids.
  14. Come on guys, it's not that bloody hard. Tom would be happy to sign now, if it weren't for the advice of his management that it's better to wait until the end of the season, to see how the tv deal plays out and how his value rises. That's fair and sensible. If I was in Tom's shoes, I'd wish I could know now what those outcomes would be, so I could fairly negotiate a deal in the next week. But that's impossible, so it's... impossible. And I very much doubt the kid will hold the club over a barrel and try to squeeze every last drop out. He just wants a fair contract, like anyone else would. His performance in 2011 & the tv deal will determine what is "fair". Nothing at all wrong with that. Just try putting yourself in his shoes -- he's not an expert in these matters, he just plays football. The smart thing to do is to defer to those who do have experience in these things.

  16. 26 - he's past it. Only got a year or 2 left in him. I'm confident the kids I talked about needing experience, will do just as much to earn a spot as Joel, and they'll get the nod over him.
  17. He only plays off a HBF in my book. Grimes, Morton, Garland, Rivers, Frawley, Bartram, Bennell would all get a game in the backline before MacDonald, for mine. I'd even go with Tapscott, Gysberts and Blease over him, as they need game time. We are still young & developing.
  18. He'll play what? Seriously, if both Green and Davey are to spend a lot of time in attack, it's a squeeze to fit in Dunn, Bate, Bennell, Wonaeamirri, Jurrah, Watts, Petterd, Maric, Howe. Healthy competition for spots in that forward line. (Anyone noticed Petterd is almost solely regarded by supporters as a forward now? Before the beginning of the 2010 season, a lot of people were doubting his ability as a forward and were calling for him to be moved back to a HBF, where he began. He can also play on a wing too.)
  19. Wonna won't be ready for another week or 2, according to the man himself. Gawn is a bit green and we have other young rucks that need the experience. Tapscott will be very close.
  20. How? Completely separate issues. I think it's a good thing they are making a special ruling for Brisbane in Fev's case. It is a unique situation, & the Lions are absolutely struggling right now. I don't think it's good for the sport for Brisbane to struggle so badly. They're in such a mess that this special ruling won't really be an advantage for them, it'll just make it easier for them to stay afloat.
  21. Bartram & MacDonald aren't the most reliable kicks. Other than that, I agree with rumpole - let Healy talk as much crap as he wants. It's only nab cup anyway
  22. Isiah Stevens. Bucketloads of talent, but will be stick with it..? I don't think he has the inner strength that Jurrah does. Jurrah blazing the trail might make it easier for him. I think it will all depend on the support network of GWS. And when claiming it's only his first AFL game, remember that Jurrah has only played 17 & looked a class above from the very 1st.
