As Al Pacino said in Any Given Sunday, "there's a point where this game has to be about more than just winning games of football..." Fevola does not belong at MFC and anyone that thinks he would be a good fit there is unfortunately not very intelligent. Fin.

Scully's management to talk to Melbourne this week

Do we? A lot of posters on here don't seem to care... -
No official injury report update MFC
Keyser Söze replied to John Crow Batty's topic in Melbourne Demons
I'd question the accuracy of that - he is listed as having a shoulder injury, when everyone knows it is his pectoral muscle. He's fit when I see him on the park, and until then I couldn't care less about these token lists... -

Scully's management to talk to Melbourne this week
Keyser Söze replied to SoNotFunny's topic in Melbourne Demons
The post above nutbean's and yours, that directly quoted my post... I think they might. I honestly don't think it could possibly be more of a frenzy unless he declines to discuss it. It may even be a more direct response from Scully, saying "I want to stay at Melbourne and don't want to go to GWS." In reality, that will placate some of the maddening horde, but beyond that it would not hurt his negotiations. GWS would still be happy to talk to his management & try to change his mind, MFC would still have to wary of this and would need to negotiate with him fairly (as I'm sure they will anyway). In the end: People are stupid. People are unrealistic in what they want from him. Nothing he says will change that. -

Not enough for you, it would seem. Or maybe you're easily impressed. -

Apologies if there was any confusion. My reply was not directed at you, but at the reply to my post sitting just above. And you are correct, but it does not make it any more intelligent for them to think like that. Raise the bar, people! -

Is it? Since that's what I was alluding to. Which is still a play on the terms "rocket science" and "brain surgery". Must I dumb everything down for people to understand the meaning..? -

Argh! Is it possible to be that stupid?? They are trying to placate the supporters. That is who the press conference is for. Not for the players or to improve the team's performance. It's really not brain science... -

You're frustrating me with your incessant fear-mongering and unrealistic demands. It will be neither. As much you might like to think you are, you do not fit most people's definition of a "supporter". -

What I find bemusing is the growing legion of supporters who are convinced that this will be a "distraction" the longer this situation drags out. These cliches have been around so long that people seem to blindly believe them without giving the matter any thought. It's only a distraction for frustrated supporters. Why do so many fail to see that after being asked the first couple of times, the questions will become mildly annoying and monotonous. Much like all the other questions that football journos ask. It becomes a distraction only if your coach behaves like a petulant child and develops a rift between him and the player in question. Scully'll learn to get used to the speculation very quickly, then put his head down & get on with it. But of course, all this distraction is what caused our loss to Essendon on the weekend... -
I think Pringle is referring to why we appear to have a lot less assets than other clubs, in terms of worth. My understanding is that this was a result of being a part of the MCC for such a long time, and then when we broke away out o necessity, we pretty much had to start from scratch. It's something that to this date we've had trouble overcoming. Correct?

I don't think that appearance would concern them if they were focused on money (one of the few reasons for going) and were going to be paid above scale. -
For insurance payments on that sort of thing, don't you decide how much you want to insure it for, then pay the appropriate premiums? I'm not sure there's a precedent of premiership cups being sold... How the hell do you put a valuation on that? It's a made up figure.

Does this mean your head is now in the sand? At the very least, I think you've dug a hole in the sandpit and are poised waiting to make the plunge... Has to be? Has to be? Why must we? It would be ideal, but hardly "has to be". -
That's absurd. It's almost impossible to price memorabilia - it's only worth what someone is stupid enough to pay for it. I say stupid, because people pay stupidly high prices for it sometimes, and I am at a loss as to why. That is an overblown estimate and it's not worth including in assets because no club would ever sell their history.

Without doubt.

You need a dozen topline mids. That's only 6. Sylvia and Davey both played and should be included in that equation. (& Viney wasn't out there either...)

Yeah, very strange comment. It makes sense if he is going to announce having signed with us, his intention to do so. I'm not sure if it helps him to further acknowledge that he won't sign until the end of the season, unless be announces that he's not going to GWS specifically.

You sure? Last year people were saying exactly the same about "pathetic" Freo. (I'm sure, but I'm making a point)
