  1. Exactly that happened against Essendon. Bartram kept on getting the footy, by the bombers' design.
  2. Ahem. You make conclusions based on little or no actual fact, rather pure speculation. You then go on to make false claims on the stance of the club, once again based on no facts whatsoever. It is my opinion that you are incorrect in your assertions and in future you should put more thought into your posts. We would all be richer for it.
  3. Patience is so short, the thread will be closed before it reaches 200 posts. And the season has not yet started - Gubby's plan working to perfection on the supporters. Fingers crossed there's not enough stupid people out there to actually chase Scully out of town like Gubby hopes.
  4. "THE Mike Sheahan"? "The Mike Sheahan Propaganda Machine", maybe? He is happy to report anything that makes good reading, such as the pathetic showing of support for a club struggling to stay afloat, as mentioned in WJ's article. Opposition supporters love to read that stuff and get wound up with outrage over how little our supporters care. It makes them feel better about how good they are as a supporter and reassures them that their club won't be the one that folds. Just like many on here enjoy reading of the struggles of North Melbourne, as ugly as that viewpoint may be. If he reports that there was strong support (which I understand there wasn't) the story goes nowhere. Just like Mike is happy to report that Scully will probably leave and should. If he writes that he probably won't, that its all unfounded conjecture and that his best option is to stay... It doesn't make good reading and the issue dies a little more, making him have to think of something else to write to sell papers. People forget that he has an agenda here and his allegiances are to the newspaper first and foremost. & his statements of surety are all forgotten later on when he turns out to be wrong.
  5. Do you not think, as AFL players, they have heard wild rumours about themselves and understand how much baseless speculation is involved in a desperate attempt to sell newspapers? The players aren't new to this - they know better. So should we, but still some insist on losing their heads...
  6. I know what Moomba once was, but it holds no relevance now. Or maybe it's just an illusion that it ever did...
  7. It's been said before by the "experts" that Wallace's strength is in list analysis. In spite of his lack of success at Richmond, it does seem he knows a bit about this aspect of the game.
  8. With his kicking a toughness he'd be a perfect zone buster from the half back flank.
  9. Tapscott? Tapscott in the backline?? Tapscott?? Funny how when I suggested this a year ago, that he could go in the backline and play like a Josh Hunt, I was shouted down by the idiot brigade. It is an option. (not an option like jcb thinks playing Garland as a mid, a real option)
  10. Rpfc, not only is it not healthy, it is something Gubby & Sheedy would be banking on to help them get what they want. Too many on here are stupid enough to give them exactly what they want.
  11. Surely you jest?! Committing for one year? Why not 2 or 3? It would only increase speculation to make such a bizarre move. 1 year makes it look like we have a rental for a year before he heads off. No 19 year old signs a single year extension. It's unheard of. And it still leaves him open to GWS the following year. And stuffs up Tim Harrington's carefully planned staggering of contracts for front-loading purposes. Why would Scully sign for a year under market when he could just wait the year out and get that year at a decent informed price, too? There is no benefit in it for anyone. Actually waiting for the results of the new TV deal shows he is leaning IN our favour. If he wanted to go to GWS, how much they pay him will probably not change with the TV rights. It will still be a stupid amount. If he wants to come to us, he still wants to get a decent contract and the tv deal WILL significantly affect how much WE can offer him. He's holding off because he wants to be at MFC and is giving the club every chance to out together a deal with the dollars big enough so that all the other factors outweigh the huge sum GWS can offer. So bloody simple.
  12. You must be a sad individual if you let your life constantly be led by fear & innuendo, bereft of any evidence or sound reasoning. Otherwise, your posts to date have been more befitting of someone who wishes to create instability for some ulterior motive. In any case, I can't figure you out, unless you're simply obsessed by Schadenfreud... I don't wish to engage in your petty back & forth.
  13. Good question. I guess it'd be better than being Gubby Allen's Stooge, like you. My only agenda is preservation of common sense, which seems to be so rare on this forum these days...
  14. Has everyone forgotten that, along with his "impeccable" sources, Mike Sheahan has an agenda of his own in this? It is in his interest to keep this issue alive for as long as he can, because it's an easy way to fill columns and sell newspapers. He has no real allegiances to any particular AFL club; his allegiances are to his newspaper & his reputation for being a newsbreaker.
  15. I agree. It's exactly the situation Gubby & Sheeds have tried to create. A young kid being treated unreasonably by his "supporters" for acting in a reasonable manner. Problem is, too many MFC "supporters" are too stupid to be able to put themselves in his shoes without being blinded by greed.
  16. You are kidding, aren't you? He know lots of people in the industry that are prepared to feed him misinformation to suit their own agendas, nothing more.
  17. My favourite suggestion in this thread is that Scully will be announcing having signed a 1 year extension (!) For the life of me, I cannot think of one person that could possibly get an advantage from that arrangement. There is no positive.
  18. Hahaha you are kidding, aren't you? Who the hell doesn't know what a pec is? Or at the very least what a pectoral muscle is? I refuse to accept that they assume people are that ignorant. Hamstring injuries can (do) affect your back. They still list it as a hamstring, rather than a back injury. You're clutching at straws.
  19. I'm not sure it will. He has not yet fronted the media personally and it will be impossible to avoid that scenario all season long. The sooner he gets it's over and says something from his own mouth, the better. Straight bat Scully, play the year out, sign once he sits down & assesses the situation and realises MFC is where he wants to be.
  20. Hahaha conspiracy theories abound! It's all a little bit pathetic really... Get a grip people!
  21. It's very simple - he is not injured OR being rested. As a result of being away for his father's and Maurice Rioli's funerals, Aussie has missed out on the required training loads before being deemed ready to play. He should now be 1-2 weeks away from playing in a practice match. He'd have played against the bombers if allowed, but this sort of thing is carefully managed. This comes from Aussie's own mouth.
  22. Is there a triple facepalm photo..? Maybe read an article before linking to it..?
  23. Jack Viney never had the option of going to GWS you damn fool! Somebody find the facepalm image, preferably the double facepalm. Please.
