  1. There is too much to read through in this thread. Seriously, has anyone got anything to say other than blind panic..?!
  2. By all means. & no need to ask in future. I'd be flattered for anyone to plagiarise my work.
  3. It appears more crimson, then the medium makes it appear pink to some, depending on the lighting. I think it has too much black in it and needs more yellow. Beyond that, you'd need to change the material used. Like I said, in general, people don't seem to understand. In their heads it's all very easy, but in reality that is far from the case. And it's hard to please people when they don't really know what they want.
  4. I don't think it would come across as that at all. I think it would purely come across as too much money for a kid to turn down. And also a serious flaw in the poaching rules for new clubs entering the comp.
  5. The "red" is too dark, making it appear crimson. It's all to do with colour composition. The problem is when people say it needs to be "darker" when they mean something like "brighter" or "more intense" or it needs more yellow.
  6. Need to be darker? The problem is that they are too dark.
  7. I see what you're saying and I agree to an extent. If we were given the same opportunity to use the entire list, I'd expect Bailey to give nearly every fit player a run. Craig should do the same. But this limits the number of established players that can be used in each game. So even if more established players are used against us than Port, assuming they give most players a run, we still would be playing against less than normal. As such, we should be favourites against the Crows.
  8. It may be worth you taking the time to understand what JM's role will actually be. It's fair to say that right now you don't.
  9. It's only a very minor role. He is mentoring the 3 Victorian pre-selected GWS players that are choosing to stay in Victoria for their schooling before moving to NSW next year. He's not an assistant coach and there is no mention of him taking on a greater role in 2012, although that may eventually be the case.
  10. The relevance of the last decade is negligible. We have had such a list turnover that the only bloke left from before our wooden spoon years, is Green*. That includes the coaching staff. Any other irrelevant stats you want to bring up..? *not strictly true, but for the most part. You get the gist.
  11. C&B, once again you're ignoring the obvious. We were crap against EVERYONE in the last few years. It hasn't been an Adelaide problem - it was an EVERYWHERE problem. Last year, we struggled a bit away from home. As is to be expected with a very young team. But really, only the 2 games last year should be considered, if any at all. This hoodoo exists only in the minds of some supporters. In any case, I think we'll have a sizeable advantage over Port, who are resting Brogan, with Lobbe injured. Instead their ruckmen will be rookies Redden and Bass. Dominating the ruck contests should be a start. Their injury list is also 3 times the size of ours. Adelaide has a couple of injury concerns but have most of their list available, like us. As we both play first up, there is no associated advantage. I think we are a good chance to beat them.
  12. I have 2 issues with this. The rumours are that he has been OFFERED an obscene contract. And they are not consistent rumours - just the one being repeated over and over, mostly by those that would never have a chance of knowing.
  13. I still think Scully will be more of a star than Grimes. Jack Watts will be a lesser star, but not for a while. And Jurrah will be a white dwarf but will fade to red at times.
  14. The public. No idea about the players. But he was specifically talking about the jumpers in the demon shop.
  15. What if you choose to instead purchase merchandise from the... Oh, nevermind.
  16. Look again. Not much definition, but obvious bulk.
  17. That's the problem with training reports, etc. Some posters have absolutely no clue what they are talking about. He acquitted himself well.
  18. He looked fat next to Scully in the practice match. Obviously he wasn't, he is still skinny, but he has more bulk about him, with not much definition yet. You can see he is filling out though. Another 6kg of defined muscle would be perfect. 16kg is just silly.
  19. Thanks for starting a new Scully thread Freak. It's exactly what this forum needed. Anyone got one of those facepalm images handy..?
  20. Why would the players association get involved? It's not in their best interests to have further restrictions placed on player movement. Just the opposite.
  21. This could probably have it's own thread (or none at all...), but I found this interesting also and it's along the same theme. Nothing earth-shattering, but it's interesting to see it articulated. http://www.afl.com.au/news/newsarticle/tabid/208/newsid/107362/default.aspx This is a breakdown of Brian Cook's presentation revolving around the selection of Chris Scott as coach at Geelong. It details the evolution of the Head Coach role into what is increasingly resembling a Football Manager in the EPL. Technical knowledge and experience are no longer the key desirables. Rather, they are merely prerequisites and then candidates are judged on other qualities. The best part, for me, is that I think Dean Bailey appears to fill that criteria quite well. Whether it's by design or not is immaterial; it is further evidence we are well placed for the future. NB also interesting to note the advances over time - when Malthouse was appointed at WCE he was given a single part-time assistant coach.
  22. They are the faulty jumpers. New "correct" jumpers wont be available until March earliest.
  23. Having not long ago read Nathan Buckley's autobiography, I expect it to get a lot messier. GWS List Recruitment Manager (or whatever the exact role is) Gubby Allan, then Collingwood's recruiter, gives a detailed account of the games played in recruiting Buckley from Brisbane. One of his main aims was to feed misinformation to as many sources as possible, to create chaos and instability. The media machine wasn't half the size it is today.
