  1. I want Dunn in the team and rotating between FF and a HFF. I think he should claim a spot in the best 22 this year. A career-defining year for this young man.
  2. *exhale* Fine, but how do you WIN a match? What does it take? What do you need to do better? In what areas do you need to improve to get a WIN? How about CONSISTENT WINS?
  3. I was very impressed with him on numerous occasions at the Essendon match and the intra-club. This coming from someone who thinks of Rivers as a poor man's Tom Harley. Looks set for a good year.
  4. Hard to when you won't give him a game in favour of a proven spud.
  5. Great post - my exact sentiments. I'm confident Jurrah will come back a fantastic player - all this does is allow us to give a spot to another youngster who has not yet shown as much. In fact, in a strange way, it's probably better it happened to Jurrah than a player like Maric or Cheney or McNamara or Strauss, who is still trying to develop and show that they deserve a spot. For one of them it could have been career-defining. As far as winning games this year it might hurt a little. In terms of developing a team to challenge for a premiership in a few years it may help a lot.
  6. ? I get it, but... not feeling it.
  7. Oh my god... It's past 1pm and we still don't know! The world is going to END!!
  8. hahaha "first one they've paid all day! Tippett has been held all day!!" Mind you, I did like "melbourne's play has been much better, their style has been much better and their touches have been much cleaner." Where's your game plan now Bailey?? Oh... It's working, so that's not really a concern.
  9. They did list the adelaide youngsters who were playing their first match in a crows guernsey and then mentioned that "Melbourne have a few kids like that playing too." Quality coverage.
  10. Temel? You still harping on about him..? I was right when I told you he'd be lucky to get rookied. He's slow, has well-below-average agility, is an ok kick and was bigger than most of the other kids at TAC level. He's with the Bendigo Bombers now apparently and I can tell you with absolute certainty we will never see him play an AFL game.
  11. I think being around Eddie and then Brayshaw may have made him hesitant, but eventually I think he'll be in the president's chair one day.
  12. Bugger, I knew I was going to forget someone. MacDonald in for Strauss.
  13. Only if it's in the octagon. Sorry to disappoint, but I'm getting the keys to my new house tomorrow. Far too much on the schedule already, I'm afraid.
  14. So the 3 years of finishing at the bottom of the ladder was because we lost that game against North at Casey? Come on, stop being so melodramatic. It wouldn't be ideal to lose, but it won't kill the club. No matter what happens now, once the dees start consistently winning, those in Casey will get right behind the dees. Sure, it'd be nice for that to happen sooner than later, but if it takes a bit of time (as it will), it won't be the end of the world.
  15. Yeah, thought I'd save the space taken up by quoting him since it was going in straight after (much like you did), but you beat me to the punch. I'll edit it. Edited.
  16. Not at all. You still don't get it.
  17. My prediction for our Round 1 team: B: Bennell Warnock Rivers HB: Strauss Frawley Bruce C: Sylvia Moloney Grimes HF: Davey Miller Jurrah F: Petterd Bate Maric Fol: Jamar Green Junior Inter: Martin, Jones, Scully, Trengove Wonaeamirri, Garland still rusty after long lay-offs. Bail, Bartram, Bell, Dunn, Watts, Blease, Cheney, Fitzpatrick, Gysberts, Jetta, MacDonald, McNamara to miss. Jetta could be in the side, but probably won't due to average preseason form. Dunn could be included for his versatility.
  18. I know, you're right. The difference between them and us is that they have more of both.
  19. By wanting things he'd make a great coach? I think he might make a great coach for the purposes of an interview. It ends there.
  20. To be honest, I've always felt Garry would be more suited to the role of President. He does speak well in front of an audience and he's a good leader. Maybe in the future once Jim stands down and Gaz doesn't have so much on his plate.
  21. I can't remember exactly who was involved, but I remember in the final quarter we had the ball in defence. I think it was a kick in from a behind, possibly from Frawley (can't remember) But recall Trengove taking a strong mark on the HBF, immediately hitting the ground and feeding off to a player running past who fed it forward. I think Maric was involved. The ball was moved into the forward line and I think a mark was taken and we kicked a goal. The result and the players involved weren't important to me, moreso how impressive we looked in that 15 second burst. Clean, sharp, precise movement of the ball, lots of run, overlap, support. In that play we didn't so much make Essendon look ordinary, but we made it look like we were far superior. We looked like Geelong at their most dominant. I know that moments like this occur regularly in games, but we are by no means incapable of it. With time and experience it will happen more regularly. Once we can string sequences of play like that together... look out. There's a lot of promise there; you just need to know where to look.
