no he deserves to have the wing named after him at the mcg. but its nice to hear the tributes to him today and even opposition fans ringing up radio stations saying they never abused him because they had so much respect for him. or he was there favourite player outside there club. -

the ox was just on finey's show. he is just shattered. I dont want to ring my brother and tell him because he will be devastated. He absolutely idolised robbie. I think this will hit the footy world very very hard. -

just paid tribute to him on footy classified. Garry held it together but he is shocked and shattered obviously. Robbie spoke at the presidents lunch event just last thursday. Its just a shock. this club has lost to many legends in the past few years. -

[censored], i cant believe it. My dad came home from work and asked if I heard anything and he had been listening to 3aw, said they didnt mention the name because they were waiting for the family to release it but he thought it was a melbourne player because mike sheehan cancelled his guest appearance. My dad thought it may have been robbie. Geez 2 legends we have lost of the past 3 years. Garry is doing footy classified tonight. poor guy will be shattered. -
I wonder if he had planned to go to the hawks the whole time. I dont think geelong will be happy. They thought they had him.

Bombers scandal: charged, <redacted> and <infracted>
dees189227 replied to Jonesbag's topic in Melbourne Demons
Paul little has to be a leader and make a decision. But he doesnt want to axe the golden boy. I laughed when he said the supporters dont want us to make a rash decision. Well Paul if you listened to the radio this morning in particular SEN you would know that 98% of essendon fans want hird gone and bomber to stay. But good old titus summed it up on twitter. Titus O'Reily @TitusOReily 7h7 hours ago The Essendon Board has begun voting on James Hird's future. -

Could bomber have made it more obvious that he wanted the job in his speech last night? I thought it was more hilarious that hirds name wasnt mentioned at all last night -
Luke Hodge and the super draft 2001 (not for us sadly)

can you believe armstrong finishes as a premiership player. -
I think after yesterday frawley would be keen to talk to the hawks. It was interesting yesterday to watch the ob of the mmm footy team and when damo said geelong met up with mitch and also are the front runners for frawley, garry stood up and said do they want our boot studder as well. Im sick of them raiding our players. Then he bought up the example of offering motlop a 5 year deal at 800,000 and see how they like it.
-
having been there yesterday watching the hawks dominate sydney they way they did was just awesome to watch. To watch them tackle and pressure the way they did and making sure each time they tackled they'd crunch the swans player I was just in awe and realise how far we have to come to get to that standard. It was nice to watch a team just dominate like that. Sydney couldnt even kick out properly, because the hawks pressure was to good. even late in the last quarter when it was all over stratton jsut ran back into a pack to spoil a ball. They never took there foot off the gas. To watch a captain just set the standard for his team and dominate the way he did was awesome and I walked away with a new respect for them. sydney never got a look in and it just shows you can buy the best players but it doesnt always work on the big day.

essendon wanted chad wingard. dream on. port would never do that. even though port are getting a good player in ryder you wouldn't give up chad.
-
if he goes to geelong or hawthorn i can handle that, if he went to the pies I could deal with it but if he goes to essendon then I would wish his foot injuries would come back and Id be so mad. plus it would be nice if he explained why he couldnt come back to melbourne. I sort of understand. I mean you wouldnt go back to the same place where mental illness occured.
-
Ed just said his dad is suffering from cancer so probably shouldnt be laughing that a player is leaving there club. But brisnane or gc would have to give up a fair bit.
-
true but ellis did play in there premiership team. But they also got later picks right. Luke Breust at 47 in the rookie draft. sam mitchell at pick 36 and traded smartly to get gunston and hale. maybe they just had better development staff.
-
tyson racked up 12 brownlow votes.Kelly none. Id say that deal was pretty good. Interesting that neither watts or nic nat got any votes either. Still cant believe vince got the 3 votes on the queens bday game.
-
that was over 10 years ago and both clubs didnt bugger there picks up like we did. they chose the right players who helped there club win premierships.
-
frawley is apparently on bill and jb's show tomorrow on triple m. He will say i haven't made a decision yet, which means im waiting for hawthorns offer before i make up my mind.
-
well im glad we didnt get one. Im sick of getting all these picks. We have had great picks in the past few years and buggered them up. its time to stand on our own 2 feet. Look at port. A rabble 2 years ago but they got the right people in and are flying. Other clubs have managed to work out there issues. I think last year we recruited some good players and now we have the right people around the club. plaus i think PJ knew we wouldnt get one but just thought he'd try anyway.
-
The winner of the brownlow didnt even make the all australian so jones had no hope
-
if we ever have a good season Jones could end up with a brownlow
-
well it will all be about buddy playing against his old team. Port were great today they way they came back. What a club. 3 years ago they were a rabble and now look at them. Hawks fans are very lucky 3rd gf in a row.
-
so lance franklin to win sydneys best first year player award?
-
Well if a top club like hawthorn couldnt get him focused hten what hope has he got. another example of a person with talent who has chosen the wrong path. I was over him when they showed him play on anzac day this year and during the ceremony and 1 minute silence he was poking faces at a teammate and laughing showing complete disrespect.
-
wow buddy franklin is just leading his team into a GF. Its funny to think all the stuff he copped during the season. At the moment he is flying. North just got a reality check tonight and if the hawks get through all next week will be hawthorn v Franklin.
