  1. Definitely.. I'm just saying it really isn't that absurd when you break down the draw and consider the performance we just put in. In all likelihood we will have more injuries, younger players will tire, and we will put in some shockers, characterised by going flat for long periods, turnovers etc BUT if everything clicked for the rest of the year like it did Sunday then a spectacular finish to the season is not as crazy as it might at first seem
  2. with the plethora of positive effects that come out of a win like Sunday's, another is that you have to feel like Trengove (and Petracca) just get that extra bit of incentive, motivation and excitement to slog through all the hard years fixing themselves and not getting to play. Knowing that we are building something and they will have the opportunity in future to be part of wins like that must do wonders for them emotionally. Stick at boys.
  3. so you are saying people are getting carried away, yet you state yourself we could win 9 of the remaining 10 games? Most people are saying we will win about half, I think that's reasonable - however if somehow this epic victory has clicked their self-belief into another gear then you never know. It seems crazy but so did winning on Sunday. It seems like we simply don't have the cattle but over the last month half a dozen new blokes have put their hands up and shown us they can play footy. Last week in particular was the first time in a very long time we played 4 good quarters that weren't riddled with errors and everyone busted their guts. The Eagles will be very tough, but if we somehow pull that off, we have three extremely winnable ones after that. We will also have a few blokes back by then. We actually could be 8-8 and on a streak of 5 wins without too much craziness happening at all. #daretodream BTW I would like to add for the record that I have been one of the handful of posters talking us up BEFORE Sunday. So I am not going to change the sails at the next breeze like some lightweights around here (cough cough you know who)
  4. We have a few hard-hitters at the moment but he is the hardest of them all, just smashes bodies that bloke
  5. Probably about the last time we beat the Cats at skilled!
  6. well Dawes is the only one you've listed who is in our best 22 so...
  7. huge chance to win 3 in a row r15/16/17 huge chance for Hogan to kick a 10-bag in there too :D
  8. 2 Eagles TIO Stadium - prob a loss but the ground advantage is actually with us 13 Bombers MCG - unbelievably we have beaten them in 4 of the last 5, they are officially the only side we own 17 Lions MCG - should win 14 Saints MCG - should definitely atone on our G for the one we threw away 4 Magpies MCG - we were well in this a few weeks ago, I call it 50/50 11 Kangaroos MCG - an incredible 13 game losing streak, can we repeat what we have just done to the cats? 9 Bulldogs Etihad Stadium - already beat them comfortably this year 16 Blues MCG - should win 1 Dockers Domain Stadium - no chance 6 Giants Etihad Stadium - a decent chance, we smashed them for a half, this is in Melbourne, and they have injuries now 4 games against the top 6 2 games against 9th-11th 4 games against the bottom 6 Returning players (EDITED for today's update) Jay Kennedy-Harris Jack Fitzpatrick Adductor Test Colin Garland Hand Test Jesse Hogan Hamstring tightness Test Ben Newton Concussion Test Christian Salem Hamstring 3-4 weeks Aaron vandenBerg Hamstring 3-4 weeks Dean Kent Hamstring 5 weeks Sam Frost Toe 5 weeks Jack Grimes Thumb 6-8 weeks What's your prediction?
  9. Exactly right It is frustrating to know that last week the knives all come out, and this week we have a dynasty, then if we get belted or even lose to a side considered too lowly, the knives will be straight back out again
  10. exactly , we won by a point then lost the last 9 in 2014 in 2015 we will snag 5 or 6 of the last 10 for mine
  11. 3 minutes in to the second half "cut off by Enright! It's shaping as a nice story for Enright, just playing their way back in, with him being one of the stars, he's been good again today..although...he's just given it away to Howe" the disappointed fall in Dwayne's voice matched the sigh of the crowd beautiful
  12. I never thought that what Kelly did there was actually meant to be disrespectful to Melbourne.. he just wanted to do something funny for the camera and went with a bloke dozing while everyone else was going beserk..
  13. But Roos strikes me as the type to have the class to award a token vote (and note the 1 vote) to the opposition just out of respect and determination not to be biased. Scott was probably filthy and made sure none of his got any 'reward'. In particular I reckon he knew that Viney blanketing his skipper was their major undoing and voted accordingly. Motlop was pretty good, but Brayshaw probably still deserved his votes.
  14. hmmmm 5 viney 4 vince 3 jones 2 gawn 1 dunn 5 dunn 4 vince 3 viney 2 motlop 1 gawn ???
  15. we seriously weren't far off beating the pies either.. couldabeen 3 in a row and 6-6 with a very soft draw coming up and some blokes back from injury now we would need to win 8 or 9 of our last 10 which is pretty much out of the question oh well, i'll take 10 wins and look to 2016 :D
  16. Then Petracca and Trengove back in the mix
  17. we beat GWS by 78 in r13, 2012 but if that doesnt count its dockers by 89 points, R13, 2011
  18. I think we would have taken him over CP if we didn't have the Frawley compo pick, but of course there is no way to know or prove it Agreed - about a month ago it looked like maybe he was slowing down a bit, feeling the brunt of a first year workload, but he seems to have gotten even better somehow. When you see him near the ball you just feel confident he will win it/do the right thing with it/destroy his opponent if he dares try to get it
  19. exactly jazza why don't you watch games with an equally as critical eye to everything that goes on around our favourite kids: Byarshaw, Hogan and Viney. You will find they also commit these so-called 'sins' but nobody mentions it - only Watts and Toumpas get called out these tiny errors that happen dozens of times in every game.
  20. but the QB game was still riddled with horrific turnovers and gifted goals to the opposition, in fact it cost us the game. Yesterday there was almost none of that.
  21. Of the first 14 in this leaderboard, I count 8 that either weren't at the club or were too young to make be making much of an impact ('pre-breakout') in season 2014.. that's just quality recruiting, drafting and development that has bumped us up another step this year. Do it again for the third time in 2016 please Roosy
