  1. These negative thoughts around the Hulk need to be banished to the bottom of the sea! At the moment he has missed one match of footy due to an extra-cautious approach to hamstring tightness.
  2. IF we somehow win this one, we then have Bombers, Lions, Saints all at the mighty MCG. Deadset chance to be sitting on 8 wins 8 losses and 5 consecutive wins. Some say it's dreaming but if you look at the facts it is seriously on the cards. Having said that, our final six games are tougher and we would have to win 4 of them at least... but if we did get into that position where we are 8-8, anything could happen
  3. Yep. The only chance is that maybe there is some sort of secret agreement where Goodwin is aware of this possibility, and accepts it. Highly unlikely though.
  4. Agree with that, Jetta used his experience to lay a shepherd simply by stepping into the path of the oncoming opposition player and allowing him to slam straight into his back, bravely taking one for the team. That pr1ck obviously didn't like it and retaliated with a cheapy. Should be shamed and embarrassed.
  5. It was all over the wire last year, could happen. Pretty good midfield Jones, Vince, Brayshaw, Tyson, Viney, Petracca, Kennedy *drools*
  6. I'm a huge pigdog fan.. you'd hate to gather a ball on the edge of the stoppage and realise he's the nearest player to you.. ouch
  7. Rubbish! 12 would be very lucky, 13 is the requirement with lowly %
  8. battle of then pretenders to see who can who pretender hardest, well pretended tiges!
  9. He does that thing where it spills (or gets directed) out of a stoppage to him, and he kinda rocks back, does a fadeaway move, and kicks super high, where his boot makes contact with the ball around shoulder height, in order for him to clear the players trying to spoil that are right in front of him, takes a split second reaction to pull it off and he pumps it long. Happened several times out of the middle last week and puts us inside 50 about 5 seconds after the ball is bounced
  10. I understand what you are saying - we have seen these types before - but VDB for me thus far has shown some extreme influence on a number of occassions, what he has done is not 'flash in the pan' stuff. It might be a bit early but I reckon he's a bit of a goer. The main thing is that he plays with the hard-as-nails attitude that Jones, Vince, Brayshaw, Viney, Dawes, Dunn, McDonald, Hogan and Cross play with.. this is the attitude that takes us to the next level. We have had others in the past with the attitude but not the ability (eg Magner) but I'm thinking vandemon isn't one of these
  11. exactly you could just as easy say 'our record on a saturday hasn't been good'... or 'our record in daylight hasn't been good' or 'our record when the earth orbits the sun hasn't been good'
  12. It's not even a question.. 5th in the B+F last year, currently tracking around the same, 98% game time as 32 year old, exhibiting everything we need for our on and off field attitude...the ultimate professional.. not just 2016 but 2017 at this stage for mine, what a champion
  13. comes around about 5 times less often, as I said :D
  14. cheat-convicted, muppet-headed, shrinkwrap-jumpered, front-running lummox who would not get near the pill if he didn't have the services of a champion side giving it to him on a platter
  15. pound for pound they are about equal IMO, but the fact that a KPF is about 5 times rarer than a gun midfielder gives the Hulk the value
  16. If anybody is reading this who is thinking about becoming a registered demonland member - you have your username
  17. How much do you wish he was staying on though? I have been on the record as a critic from day one. Literally the day it was announced.. YAY we got Roos! Oh wait it's for 3 years only. I believe it is an unprecedented arrangement. It is looking pretty good that his efforts will put us in the 8 or thereabouts next year. Why stop there? Why not be on board for the long haul to be raising that cup? I originally suspected that the 3 yr arrangement was just him leaving a back door unlocked i case everything went to hell.. Part of me still holds the hope that the arrangement will be flipped late next year, when we are really looking the goods and Roosy decides to stay on.
  18. Could easy be 6-6, with 5 or 6, maybe 7 more to come
  19. I don't buy too much into the 'mental scars' thing.. because Nathan Jones makes the point moot... BUT if ever there was a poster boy for mental scars it's Garland, you can see it in his face when he plays footy. I'm not necessarily seeing him part of the Jones/Vince/Hogan/Brayshaw/Viney/McDonald type attitude that represents the club we are rebuilding
  20. Surely Garland would want to be around for our resurgence, after the nightmare he has been through at this club Whether we want him or not is another story, personally I think he is super overrated on this forum
