  1. Don't forget we were 41 seconds away from beating them 3 weeks ago
  2. Our form has gone up and down all year, from week to week and even quarter to quarter. Most of us recognised before the Cats game that our best is very good but it doesn't come out often enough. That is our challenge, to bring it every quarter every week and start knocking off some big sides. Tonight is a chance, we just need to bring it 100% of the time. Again it needs to be taken into consideration that we are still very much below full strength with 9 genuine players unavailable. Also, the Eagles seem to matchup really well against, having beaten us the last 7, with 3 of those times by over 90 points. The fact they have never played in Darwin is very interesting, it could be that we are looking back at the end of the game discussing how that was big advantage for us. IN any case, I can't wait. Hogan, Brayshaw and Viney alone make the dees worth seeing these days, and I think we're building something special.
  3. Not to mention the son will assumedly get life in prison now
  4. It is crazy though to think that we STILL have such a long injury list - Lumumba, Vandenburg, Salem, Kent, Frost, Petracca, Trengove, Grimes and JKH, that's 9 who would all surely be in the 22 or near it (that's right, inevitable pedants, I said 'near it'.) We are still fielding a side that is a mile off full strength
  5. Grimes was one of the best afield in his last game which was vs the saints. The existence of Salem has little to do with it. He is in contention for the 22 and clearly so is Trengove WHEN, not if, he returns.
  6. It's pretty crazy to think that if we had no injuries we'd also potentially have to find room for Vandenberg, Salem, Kent, Grimes, Petracca and Trengove... very good signs edit: oh and Lumumba
  7. but we kicked 18 last week and he was part of the reason we did so
  8. Well with the demonland crowd he needs to play about 4 times better than Hogan to get the same amount of credit
  9. I like it. We should take it a step further and drop Vince and NJones to bring in McKenzie and Terlich - they'll never see that coming
  10. does anyone remember that Jimeoin sketch where all the kids are in the playground chanting "what's this?! what's going on?!" gold
  11. Sounds like he should be right to line up in about 39 weeks then :D
  12. If this is true it sucks It's already a load of carp that he's limited himself to 3 years If Goodwin is just another schmuck like Bailey and Neeld we are back to zero again Bloody hell we have one good win and the rebuild is complete eh Roosy
  13. man.. I must have blocked out just how poor we have been against WC in recent times we have lost the last 7... including margins of 108, 94, and 93 wowsers, that is sobering
  14. exactly, you and others will say that regardless of how he actually plays and what the result is. Like last week, for example, where he did OK and we won.
  15. Cross, Bernie and Viney each have the ability to shut down very good midfielders, as you say, this serves us very well for coming up against better midfields and levelling the playing field. I like it a lot.
  16. why would he would put spin on players that aren't 'puting contract talks on hold' he's gone and Roos knows it he also knows painting him in the best light possible is likely to get us the best return on the asset we are about to lose
  17. Exactly right mate The fact in itself that Howe hasn't been dropped is probably just an exercise in spin Always plotting is Roosy
  18. Dawes is not getting dropped, how oblivious are some of you
  19. Yeah well the Eagles lost to the Dogs, who we beat by 39, and they only beat the tigers by 20, who we beat by 32. So around we go.
  20. oh ffs yes we aware that one of the last hundred players we have delisted has actually gone on to play well at another club, big friggen deal
  21. Just on all the discussion about playing too tall/changing a winning side, it seems unlikely Roos will be dropping Dawes regardless of Team balance. "when he’s in there and playing a really important role for us – as you saw in the game at Geelong, which was a good example – he played a really important role. When he does that, we’re a better team." Yes, we had a great win last week, but for mine, it was in SPITE of the 22 we had out there instead of BECAUSE of the 22. What I mean by that is injuries forced us to play a weakened side - just because we won it doesn't mean you stick with that weakened side, you improve it as players become available. Hogan, Garland, JKH (sub) all in for mine - out: Riley, Matt Jones, Bail
