  1. I thought it was 20 minutes, or the rest of the quarter or something like that
  2. why didn't you just say his name is Jurrah Green?
  3. he has some weapons old straussy.. does anyone remember late in the game when the pressure was really on, the ball was in dispute with several players at our CHB, Straussy just did this little flick of the arm, that forced a little bounce pass that sat up perfectly for someone (Grimes?) who was running past. It was totally deliberate and showed brains and composure beyond his years. He has made some terrible blues in both matches but some fantastic things also, bit like Scully
  4. anything wrong with any of those comments or are they rational statements from the senior coach of a football side?
  5. amended (forgot Martin too) yes but looking objectively at those first 18 names, and giving Watts a pass, how many of them would you say you are dissatisfied with what they have shown at this point in their career? Obviously many have barely played but what they have shown is plenty. It's one thing for Grimes, Morton etc these guys were high picks, but the likes of Jurrah, Bennell, Cheney, Jetta and now Bail, Strauss and McKenzie, these are late/outside picks that have shown something to offer already. All bodes very well for competition for spots and depth in the future point taken though, the likes of Bate, Bartram, Bell, Garland and Rivers, for different reasons have not become the players we hoped they would
  6. that's true, and he was yopunger than those blokes when drafted, had school commitments plus has already had several injuries. Just getting impatient, I know it is nobody's fault but want to see him out there
  7. When you sit back and look at our last 3 drafting periods you have to say we are doing extremely well with how our players are starting off their careers in the red and blue: Grimes Morton Jurrah Bennell MacDonald McKenzie Jetta Strauss Trengove Scully Bail Spencer Cheney Watts Maric McNamara Martin Wonaeamirri and we are still to hear from: Gysberts Blease Tapscott Gawn Fitzpatrick Healey now that's a pretty impressive group, Watts and Maric the only real disappointments thus far... but we know Watts has a lot of reasons he should be given a break. To me it says really, really good things about Bailey and the rest of the club's ability to get these kids off on the right foot (and I guess it also says a lot about their Recruitment choices) I'm really getting the feeling we are going to be looking back on the 2007-2009 drafting period with absolute awe in a few years
  8. Did they say he is playing for Casey next week? Absolutely stinging to see this guy in the red and blue now that some other kids are standing up and we are not a complete basket case How many weeks at Casey are we expecting, given there are still heaps out injured and not a huge amount of competition for him to break into the side What role are we expecting? I'd like to see him on the HFF
  9. didn't rate his game yesterday?
  10. I think the fact we lost on Saturday is going to really spur them on against the crows. They know that was a game they should have won and they will be keen to make amends. I think there is a bit of heart in this mob
  11. I will be furious if Newton gets dropped. He is awful, but it is just unfair on the bloke to give him one game a year to do something then straight out. Nobody else deserves his spot and we are still in development/rebuild/experimentation mode. He muts stay for at least 2 more weeks to try and prove something. Sylvia for Bartram the only change for mine
  12. how awesome, we were already looking good to have one of the best midfields in a few years time and out of nowhere comes Jordie to sweeten the deal
  13. Sylvia will be back and will be very important
  14. Sylvia Morton Jurrah Rivers Garland Wonaeamirri Watts Blease Gysberts Tapscott all to find their place in yesterday's side very exciting
  15. I remember Jack Watts being in possession and being tackled. I don't remember him being the 'victim of bullying' or whatever garbage people like you seem to want to remember
  16. I re-watched the last quarter of last week, at the game I hadn't noticed it as much, partially because of my s--t view, nad because the kid moves with such speed, but around the packs he is a gem.. managed to work the ball out to our advantage in some very tight situations, most years ahead of him can't do some of the things he does in his first match. Will be a star, and the only other player I have that opinion of already is Jurrah
  17. Yep plus we have Morton, later picks in Grimes and Jurrah (whom I credit as an honorary top5 draft ND pick 'wink') ... then of course Tapscott, Gysberts, Blease and Strauss during the whole tanking debate some people were arguing that high picks aren't worth it because the whole thing is a raffle anyway ask Brett Ratten what he thinks about that
  18. worst post i've read in quite a while
  19. Just saw a FOXTEL ad for this weekend's games: "and on Saturday, the superstars of tomorrow take on the superstars of today: Melbourne vs Collingwood' pretty succinct description of the situation
  20. Well he won't be alone out there, three others in their second game and McKenzie in his fifth I think they're all going to be in for a long afternoon unfortunately
  21. I'd rather have Strauss, whose pick we would probably have had to give to Freo for him They are probably happy with Nick Suban suck it Carlton
  22. somebody has an anmated gif as their avatar of Bailey at a match huddle screaming at someone like he's about to murder them his media persona is not necessarily his in-house persona
