  1. extremely ordinary the couple of times I have seen him. Have you ever had a kick with your mates and there is a bloke there who has pretty much never kicked a footy in his life? Yeah. OK that's over the top but at this stage he is 'tres ordinairre'
  2. fair call, but remember, just 9 games to his name and coming from a background much less privileged than basically every other kid in the comp. These guys have had elite coaching, facilities and general training/lifestyle regimes far beyond where LJ has come from. Compare him to Scully, who has never had a drink in his life and probably spent every day of his life since he was about 13 perparing in some way for his AFL career, under the guidance of the best junior footy has to offer. LJ didn't put on footy boots until he was 17 and had never done a pre-season before this year
  3. Exactly right If they have their attitude right we will be far too good though. Our backline won't give them a sniff and we should dominate out of the middle... would like to see them restricted to 7 goals for the day max. Obviously our problem is scoring ourselves, we have managed 7,8 and 12 so far, I am hoping for about 15 just through sheer midfield domination creating opportunities and somebody standing up for a bag (cough Juice cough)
  4. I called this the day of the trade. With all his other faults, a very important one overlooked at the time was the fact he cannot get on the park and is often playing under duress. I predict a short career probably ended by one catastrophic injury from which there is no return. I still can't believe Carlton did that trade, absolute idiots.
  5. I'll second that I'll also add to his list in saying that getting rid of Johnstone and McLean, two senior performers in a very bad side, was very brave, and wise, also
  6. Yes good call, this is one of his last chances. I expect us to smash them in the middle which should mean a heap of quality forward entries coming his way. WHY oh WHY oh WHY can't we just see him sit in the goalsquare all day and go 1-on-1 with his opponent? He would get 10 chances at least and if he doesn't come away with a few at least we will all know for sure. Last week at times he was dragged down to the ADELAIDE 50 and then nowhere to be found when counter attacked and headed i50. FFS Bailey just anchor him in the 50 please
  7. and then take on Port at Darwin, win that and we are in the 8 after 9 rounds. Who wouldn't have taken that after round 1?
  8. I'm with you totally. These guys are incredible, the instant, the exact moment we stop being the league's whipping boys and looking a team that might emerge from the bottom 4, they start being critical and underwhelmed that we are not premiership contenders. There will be occasions this year where we put in a shocker and get done badly, you watch these heroes come straight out and tell us how right there were. ONE STEP AT A TIME BOYS. OUT OF THE BOTTOM 4, MAKE THE FINALS, PUSH DEEP IN THE FINALS, GRAND FINAL DAY. We are on a long road and ahead of where we should be right now and when you look at our games per player stat combined with the players we have out combined with the young talent that hasn't even got started yet and the picture is very, very good. You hear me talking Rhino?
  9. This is what happens when Frawley plays on you He basically just chokes you into submission
  10. it really hurts to think about the prospect of losing i'm not hitting the boards all week if it happens, too much pain
  11. I've seen Joel MacDonald play 6 games (inc pre-season) and he was better than the last 6 games I saw Jared Rivers play Rivers would have to have the most undeserved reputation of anyone at the club He's good, but he hasn't shown it all that often
  12. blahblahblah yeah its ok, dont build yourself up for disappointment, we get it Watts is still a no. 1 pick, Jurrah and Morton are still just kids.... doesn't take a lot of imagination to take the point that he is making, which is that to point at our forwardline at this exact second and say how much it sucks without projecting your mind into the future a little is just plain stupid
  13. anybody else having Jurrah withdrawls? as exciting as the last couple of weeks have been imagine if WW had been around? Haven't heard him mentioned much actually, we seem to have forgotten a bloke that is a proven natural born football genius
  14. agree with the sentiments that taking him out of the backline where he is doing so much damage would be a mistake however, anyone that was down at price-fixing park to watch the Bombers praccy would have seem him utterly dominate a quarter playing as an on-baller, including winning the centre clearance 4 out of 5 ball-ups hard to say what type of player he will ultimately become except that it will be a very handy one!
  15. definitely not the usual amount of crows fans there perhaps they couldn't be stuffed getting the bus down given the way their mob is going
  16. hmmm yeah I guess I'm just not as brilliant as you are If we are 5 wins (Eagles, Roos, Tigers, Port) after 9 games will you still be saying 'we are tracking according to plan' you do realise we have 25 players under 22 and have won the last 2 spoons right? you realise our biggest issue is a non-existant forwardline yet we have Jurrah, Morton and Watts to come in? yet you seem to think we are underachieving, ask yourself which one of is really the realistic one
  17. as if things weren't looking rosy enough, Bail and McKenzie appear out of left field recruitment and development is in full effect with the current administration the issue is, as has been going on for years, can the club take these guys from promising debutants to top-line players? If Grimes, Morton and Frawley are any indication it is looking likely
  18. I cannot fathom why people are so negative we were brilliant r2 and should have knocked off a top4 side r3 we were well below our best and still took the bikkies over the highly-rated crows all this missing several key players we are the youngest side in the comp and the performances of the last 2 weeks have us well ahead of the curve not sure how much convincing people need. Time to back the club and look at us like winners
  19. OK have a stab in the dark I've obviously just done this to highlight the fact we have at least 9 potential superstars under the age of 22 so indulge me
  20. geez mate I don't know how I could have layered on the sarcasm much thicker than that sorry for defecating on your caricature
  21. it's called football analysis... it's what some people like to do when they log on to websites to talk abut footy, and some other people enjoy reading it
  22. yeah I thought the 5th time was even funnier than the first 4
  23. "I think the person that made this thread is under the influence of narcotics, because it is the type of thing somebody who isn't thinking straight would say! Get it?! What a cracker of a joke!" Anybody who saw the Eagles-Roos match today would know there are now at least three teams in the comp who are much worse than us. We play each of these three teams at home in the next 6 weeks. before round 10 we'll also play the crows and lions at home and port at darwin. We could well be in the 8 after the conclusion of round 9
  24. you would think they missed round 2 completely and are still commenting on round 1
