  1. exactly, everyone at the club cannot speak highly enough of what Connolly has done for us, show some respect
  2. Shouldn't Burgoyne and Rioli be in this category?
  3. no we aren't assuming that, because of the others there are only a few 'im going to be a gun who writes his own ticket' players and none who have come across publicly on a number of occasions as perhaps not seeming 100% committed to the club! Tell Chris Judd it's a myth!
  4. except he's a lifelong Crows supporter I know if it was me drafted at #2 and sent to play for the Crows, coming off two spoons, I'd be thinking about how I can get home and put on the red and blue just sayin' is all
  5. well there is something to it, people aren't saying it for no reason. As I said, not a worry for 3 years but I don't see why people aren't allowed to discuss it now
  6. well don't hold your breath for that, 2 weeks for a broken jaw would be a miracle... but as you say, it's still not that bad... Bate, Bruce and Davey will all be there, so Morton and Jurrah are the only other ones that will truly be missed, perhaps Garland also, and it would be nice to have Watts out there. Still, could be a lot worse
  7. what do you mean? Don't Box Hill have a match on? handy if so, Burgoyne and Rioli would have benefited from the chance!
  8. I agree, I get the feeling he just hates the whole media side of things, he just wants to play footy and obviously is dedicated to being the best player he can possibly be.. as for Trenners, I also have an inkling he is already thinking about home, at the info night Schwarz asked him if he was happy about moving to Melbourne (city) his answer was an unconvincing 'yes and no'.. maybe he was just being honest but usually they tow the company line and say how awesome everything is etc Anyway it's not worth sparing a thought over for 3 years, and even then it's all about what you get for him. Carlton's big trade cost them Kennedy and Masten and I reckon they will end up losing that one
  9. hmm can't wait for a bunch of slimy questions/comments directed at them about how they feel having to play for the loser club and tanking etc
  10. Jim Stynes being the dominant ruckman of the comp for many years and winning a brownlow and four Blueys deserves a mention I would have thought
  11. sure, if you were being asked to learn how to use Excel, but what if your boss asked you to paint a beautiful watercolour landscape worthy of exhibition? No matter how hard you practised you probably still wouldn't do a very good job because you just weren't born with the natural ability for that particular thing... maybe goalkicking is similar
  12. could not agree with you more it is only going to get worse too, Vlad will be happy to see the end of North and ourselves in favour of two more new interstate sides as long as it gets a few pennies more I genuinely struggle to keep interest in watching a neutral game of footy these days because of the farce it has become The biggest example is the near-complete removal of the physical side of the game - this WAS one of the things that made or game unique, tough and brilliant to watch, but see we are competing with soccer for supporters and they don't want to have any of the mothers turned off their sons being involved if they see too much tough stuff on TV Makes me sick
  13. only question is which one will get the rising star nod
  14. yep I have this page bookmarked (sorts by age) http://www.footywire.com/afl/footy/tp-melbourne-demons?year=2010&sby=15
  15. the final 8 system as it is now is a thing of beauty IMO. It is perfectly fair in the way it awards the advantages (opponent, home advantage, double chance) to the clubs based on their qualifying position, and that is why, more often than not it is the top 4 who end up in the preliminary finals because they are the best 4 and deserve it. Would hate to see a more unfair and imbalanced system come in, and I don't think you could ever improve on the current one
  16. great to hear, he must have had a bloody awful year have you noticed a considerable change in his body size since he arrived at the club (or is that just people talking him up)?
  17. He's also really improved his work around the ground, and is one of the only genuine pack-markers in the side.. again those other options are all shocking in this area by comparison. If he gets injured I will just about give up. What an example in patience is the Jamar, has come a very long way one piece at a time
  18. Trengove/Maric just kids and both already better than him anyway Davey 1000x better than Dunn no matter how many goals he misses Bate overrated also but at least he has played some good games for the MFC did I really need to post that sheesh
  19. I agree with you, the newest softy is Bennell, somebody should be screaming in his face and telling him if he doesn't start going harder he will rot at Casey, not good enough
  20. Very close: Davey, Sylvia Solid B+: Green, Bruce, McDonald, Jamar, Jones, Moloney, Rivers, Warnock, MacDonald? Should get there: Morton, Grimes, Jurrah, Frawley Might get there: Bate, Petterd, Garland, Wonaeamirri, Cheney Everyone else is a spud or just too young for judgement right now, obviously expect something from Watts/Sculgove Not in terrible shape
  21. agree totally, how was that shot on goal, enough to make you gnaw your own foot off.. don't need blokes like him out there
