  1. you'll find the reason for this trend is to do with the fact that we are a horrible club in terms of development. Go back in time and swap the brothers and you'll get the same result
  2. jesus we are full strength, that is scary on the other hand, there are about 3 blokes in the side that would actually hurt us if they got injured, the rest are useless anyway
  3. in 2010 I would have assured you that Grimes, Frawley, Scully, Trengove, McKenzie, Jurrah, Watts and Morton will become that star nucleus that wins premierships today that statement is completely absurd short answer: none
  4. as opposed to getting done hard by the same mob at the same ground 2 years later? yes it was glorious, as was the Sydney smashing, beating Essendon, pushing collingwood twice etc none of those things have even been remotely likely this year - it is basically the same side with our supposed elite youngsters with 40 more games in them plus Clark and Magner who are 2 of our best this year. Any sense of logic would conclude that we should be well inside the 8 at this stage but we are winless on the bottom. and thats a cold hard fact that I am struggling with
  5. it wouldn't bother me at all to engage in a bit of banter, but when your side is the one that gets completely owned every time there is nought you can say
  6. haha so yeah there is one thing and you have nothing else
  7. i can't believe how many idiots continue to spout this garbage. Sorry but it is so stupid it makes my head hurt.OBVIOUSLY it is the club's inability to properly develop players, every single club would have taken Morton at 4 or even higher, it was an auto-selection FCS. The roblem is that he didn't go to a proper club or he would be playing like a pick 4 in some other guernsey. I suppose you reckon if we had not taken Watts at 1 he would have slipped to the 3rd round or something. Use your head FCS.
  8. honestly i've had enough. After 10 consecutive years as a member I have not paid up this year. I was waiting for them to show something, anything, but clearly this is not going to happen and I will not be renewing my membership. After the game I spoke to a whole lot of dees fans at the pub and all of them were as livid and depressed as me. We are a pathetic disgrace of a club and I wish we'd hurry up and fold to put us out of our misery.
  9. "Mark Jamar will dominate the hitouts, so use that to advantage. Have Brent Moloney, Nathan Jones and Trengove be on the fly at stoppages to create effective breaks." Walls you are a genius. Why didn't we think of having our midfielders rove to our ruckman at stoppages.
  10. as opposed to our other top 5 picks in McLean, Sylvia, Trengove and Morton. That makes 7 total. you'd be forgiven for wondering if it is the club's developmental abilities that are at fault
  11. I would say Sylvia and Jones both have a fair bit of class. The latter is becoming the player myself and many others have been heralding for years, he is becoming a Sam Mitchell. You're right though the other 3 are basically all grunt and none of them are quick. Would love to see Blease worked into the equation or for the penny to drop for Morton. Has not borne a passing resemblance to the athletic ball magnet we thought we were drafting. I really hate to say it but I'm starting to feel the same about Trengove. I wonder what his role will end up being. Where does everyone think Gysberts fits in? I have seen some brilliant clearance work from him though not in abundance.
  12. no reason why he cant rotate with the russian, who has proven dangerous at FF before
  13. A few years back, it was pretty much unanimous for those in and around the club that our midfield was a weak, recieving, outsiders midfield with some flair but no guts. The upcoming period saw us nab Moloney, Sylvia and McLean in response to this. Since then Brock is gone but we now have: Moloney Jones Sylvia Magner McKenzie Now in my mind that is 5 players wo go very hard. Each of them is tough/physically strong and puts the head over the ball no matter how much it is going to hurt. If there is a top category of hardness I believe all 5 of them are in it. So... how is it that we are struggling so badly in the middle? We appear to have assembeled the hard midfield we have longed for, you would be expecting this group to be really destroying sides - Jordie is the only one who is 'sub-mature' the other 4 are right in the zone for their prime football years. Why isn't it working?
  14. who knows how much can be credited to Neeld (and the rest of the staff) but 24-year-old Magner was taken at pick 42 in the rookie draft, and he is on auto-select as one of our best performers this year, which is pretty crazy
  15. pft, that will mean winning 10 out of the remaining 17.. and we are a massive chance to lose the next 6 in a row you must be smoking some pretty good gear there
  16. yeah agree with you on an immediate basis but plenty of those boys have their best footy in front of them so it is heartening, not for right now but for the upcoming few years
  17. huge game for the boys after a couple of more heartening performances we are in danger of getting smashed back into chaos the cats will be licking their lips while we will be trembling watch for the cats' strong start and our immediate collapse who the hell is playing on Johnson, last time he had 34 touches and 7 goals sportsbet will give you 1.45 for cats over 40... sheesh I don't knw what anyone can do, doubt Neeld will get much sleep this week
  18. we are 0-5 and 16th so it sounds crazy.. but we do have some good depth when you look at the above names and add Clark with Bennell, Petterd, Blease, Couch and Nicholson at Casey... that's a total of about 14 decent players outside last weeks 22, 6 of them very good players
  19. i really respect the way you respect the opposition you would be a good one to be next to in the trenches, showing the enemy so much respect
  20. yeah good onya mate, every 2nd bloke at the ground is like that. Funny how you have a club be an absolute mess for 47 years and there's some angry folks watching isn't it? lucky we have supporters like you 'showing respect for the opposition' while they kick 10 goals on us , that's why we are such a fearsome powerhouse i bet you cheered on Brad Miller being a zero impact KPP for 150 games
  21. exactly we also happen to be in this situation right now 16 Melbourne 5 0 0 5 343 590 58.14 0 17 Gold Coast 5 0 0 5 342 619 55.25 0 18 Greater Western Sydney 5 0 0 5 272 633 42.97 0 this is a disgrace and should not be tolerated by any supporter
  22. ALL 3 are fair targets for his consternation Nath Jones, beamer, Mitch, Rivers, Magernficent are about the only ones who have done themselves any justice this year sorry but its true I would prefer honest supporters like this one to the 'hey boys lose by as much as you want we love you anyway hurrah!' types
  23. both sides play under the same sky mate, in what way were we advantaged? We matched them well when it was pretty dry in the first half anyway.
