  1. it's true you pay peanuts, you get monkeys
  2. No, it shows that YOU are the MINORITY because you don't know what you're talking about
  3. for Jones that will be 150 out of a possible 155 since he debuted - legend
  4. there are an awful lot of sources in here talking it up me likey
  5. I think it is fair to say this thread has not been well received by the community
  6. col is ranked 1st in our average dreamteam rankings and 3rd for supercoach not that you would you believe it from reading this forum sometimes
  7. well if they get us Roos they've just automatically increased the club's likelihood to lure a quality one over from another club, so in a way yes and given Trengove, McKenzie, Blease, Toumpas, Viney and whoever we get this year are all young midfielders in bad need of a good goach to develop them, we start to cultivate a proper midfield rather quickly
  8. let's say Roos is available and so is Craig, is there a scenario with 8 games remaining, that the side can perform well enough to give Craig the nod over Roos? Or will it go to Roos no matter what we produce in the next 8 weeks? What if something crazy happens and we win 6 games, it is not out of the realm of possibility given what we have seen the last 3 weeks.
  9. why don't you take off the terrd coloured glasses you are obviously sporting? 25 i50s in the second half, thats an average number and its against the reigning premiers. 'Neeld-esqe' my arse We had 41 less disposals, so you messed that up by 99. to say 'at least 80 points' is the comment of somebody who is so brow-beaten by our recent history that they cannot see what has happened on the field, or somebody who simply has no clue about footy and is looking at a stats sheet. at least 80 huh.. so instead of 16.20, they should have kicked 26.10 they missed about 5 easy goals, and the umpires cost us at least 3. Ten of their 16 goals came from three short bursts totalling about 15 minutes. We smashed them for the other 105 minutes that a football game is composed of. It is obvious to everyone else that some turnovers and lack of experience allowed them to fully capitilise and hurt us at times. oh and youve conveniently mentioned reid was off but not Frawley, that's interesting it would have been nice to have our full forward in too, to balance up with the 202cm convicted cheat wearing a cling-wrap jumper and the emptiest of boofheads I've seen at the other end
  10. a request that has been made many times without even an acknowledgement
  11. we actually won the second half by 4 points, kicking 8 goals from 25 inside-50s they kicked 3 goals in 4 minutes at one stage too, yet they only managed 7 majors for the half
  12. I have mentioned a few times this year that I look at the named side and evaluate a 'NQR factor' that is the number of players not (or not yet) up to AFL standard. At times it has been a horrendous count of as much as 14 or 15. This week, judging by last week's performance only, this week it is only 9, with the majority of those the very young players (we have 60 game ave). Add to that 5 or so players out injured and the J-HOG at Casey, things are looking better.
  13. thanks all, you have generally confirmed my original thoughts catfishpig: the philosophy of 'that's your problem' is usually heavily unsuccessful when applied to those of the female variety. Such a strategy often results in the severe busting of balls.
  14. ah yes, more perpetuation of mindless regurgitation and mythologies created by the media. please explain to us exactly how supporter enthusiasm had a negative affect on Jack Watts' career don't tell me THAT there was supporter enthusiasm, don't tell me THAT his career got off to a slow start, explain to me how those two things are linked thanks
  15. Grimes' importance is underrated.. in 4 of the past 5 seasons he has missed a chunk of footy each year, so he has played 59 of a possible 101.. compare that to Nathan Jones, who has played 140 games of the last 145. The end result is that Jones is only 16 months older but has 89 games extra to his name. I wonder how good Grimesy would be now if he had as blessed a run as Jonesy has had. just seems to be one of those players unfortunatley
  16. computer says no http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coleman_Medal
  17. well what you have seen and known is a history of a buttload of talents at the MFC not becoming superstars for one reason or another, so trust that
  18. rpfc is right though. For him to actually become a star for the MFC he needs to survive injury, opposition poaching and our most common nemesis - young talent that never reaches it's potential. I can't help but think of LJ, the most brilliant naturally gifted I have ever seen, his stardom was stolen from us by completely unforeseen circumstances. There's a huge amount of water to go under the bridge, all we can really do is guard against poaching by becoming a club that a star wants to develop with, ie winning matches, good coaching and leadership, having decent crowds and not being the butt of everybody's joke... the other problem is paper bags. The big clubs have them waiting for Hogan and we don't.
  19. always better looking broads around around at our games too
  20. Do you think I need to pre-purchase vistors passes for this saturday night Cats v Hawks? or just rock up on the night? obviously as a melb supporter this issue doesn't come up much! MCC site says expected crowd of 80,000. The only reason I ask is because of annoying non-commital people who are deciding on the day if they are going. cheers
