  1. exactly, as much dummy-spitting as there has been abut the appointment of Neeld, it has to be recognised that at the time the only options were he and a bunch of other 'up and coming' assistant types.. there is nothing anyone could have done about that, it's just the way the cards are dealt.. it's like having a couple of high draft picks in a weak draft... fortunately it seems to be three genuine types on offer this time around
  2. you're right, there's about 5% of the population that don't roll like that
  3. "Roos, Choco, Matthews or Eade" or Clarkson if possible this time, if we don't get somebody of that experience/status I'm going to effing crack it for good with this club
  4. geez I must be slipping on the amount I know about other clubs because most of those names are comlpete mysterie4s to me I guess it is hard enough watching the Dees these days, let alone others clubs
  5. I tend to agree Neeld walks away with what? about a million smackers ? for 21 months of complete failure cry me a Jared Rivers
  6. FOR THE 800,000TH TIME: Stop talking about us having made recruiting mistakes We picked pretty much everyone we were expected to at the picks they were taken, certainly with regard to top5 picks anyway Whwn you are talking picks from the teens onward it becomes much more speculative and you will find all clubs have not got returns from heaps of these picks DEVELOPING them is where we have failed, that's why we lag behind behind Sydney, Hawthorn, Geelong, Collingwood etc they have the money, culture whatever it is to actually take these picks and turn them into star players It's the same reason the Dogs, Saints and Roos haven't quite been good enough, the playing field is not even
  7. I hope that is a joke I sincerely hope we are nowhere near even being in contention for a PP. All it is is another chance for everyone to have a go at us over tanking and for our loser mentality to further solidify into the club
  8. yes, and that's bankrolling the entire thing.. in reality its about the amount MORE that he will cost vs other options.. let's ay he costs 600K more than Eade or Williams, that's only 4000 members. It also doesn't take into account the additional earnings from gate receipts and potentially marketing/sponsorship as a result of performing better on field. From a financial POV Roos is a no-brainer, I can't believe anyone would say otherwise
  9. They certainly can! Round 17, MCG, Sunday, 25th July 2010, Team Q1 Q2 Q3 Q4 Final Melbourne Demons 8.2 12.4 20.8 22.10 142 Sydney Swans 2.1 4.4 6.6 10.9 69
  10. i think his prediction would have been taking into account the requirement that Roos'* involvement actually has a noticeable improvement on field. *correct use of apostrophe - the involvement that belongs to Roos :D
  11. haha yeah it took about 12 hours for that little tune to change youre right, if a coach gets us out of the bottom 4 he will be a cult hero at MFC, that's how starved we are at the moment
  12. Coaching us, if it is the sort of salary we are expecting, will be way more lucrative than his foxtel gig. It is a painful and stressful proposition but he gets to put away millions for his family. Ask Tom Scully what sort of decision that is. I don't care if it is money that gets him here or not, once he's here he will be in it to win it
  13. the last time I remember it was at the post-game function at the hilton following the match in my signature.. or possibly the corner hotel after beating the saints in a final since then it has been down down down downhill
  14. why do people still live in this fairy tale land. MONEY is the king of all motivators. You are not allowed be honest about it public so Chris Judd doesn't come to Melbourne 'because of the facilities' and Ablett goes to GC 'for a new challenge'. It is all complete horsesh1t and they will all step over their own mothers for the coin, Roos too
  15. Olivia Munn + Paul Roos gives me a tingly feeling :D
  16. i[m with you. This is a good day. Get the big coach signature, those that have a foot out the door turn around, we lure a big player or two, back in the hunt
  17. not to mention knowing what to do on gameday, something we have been sorely lacking for a long time
  18. it is one thing for journos to write baseless speculation, but his own quotes are there
  19. what a load of garbage his comments slipped under the radar until dogface boofhead bogan opened his disloyal arrogant mouth on FC then Bailey's comments became front and centre that was an FU to the club from a bloke who had just been sacked, and it ended up being contributory to the sstrorm that followed, no doubt
  20. 'left the door ajar' sounds a lot better than that for mine, sounds like he is saying yep I'll take it on just make sure there is plenty of $$$$$$$ "In some ways it's the great coaching challenge" That's it Roosy, that's the angle this is brilliant, for once we might get somebody bona fide with serious runs on the board around the place
  21. well I asked before, for no answer, what did Derm say that makes all of you dismiss his opinion, he was pretty spot on for mine i must have missed that moloney bit, he did acknowledge Frawley as our best, although I would put Jones, Clark, Grimes and possibly Howe, Sylvia or Garland ahead of him
