  1. thanks mods for stashing the video in this thread where nobody will see it, glad i went to the trouble to upload it
  2. agreed in 9 weeks we have taken 3 huge beltings where we completely lost focus, played stupid, lazy, weak football.. it's enough to show me he doesn't 'have' the players, as they say
  3. What's to be gained you ask? Somebody, anybody, even if it's a supporter on a forum needs to shine a light on the weak, lazy culture of our players that is epitomised by Jack Watts. If I was senior coach the whole side would be watching this as JW sat in the corner with a dunce's cap on. We need to demand better than this.
  4. this is precisely why we suck. A culture that excuses this type of thing. What in the name of god does your opponents agility have to do with your own ability to actually move your legs? Do you have any response to the second bit of footage, I guess not huh
  5. nope I cannot swallow this. We have been bemoaning 'peaheartism' ever since 2001, when we started to 'yo-yo' up and down the ladder under Daniher. Even in 2004-2006 when we were OK, peaheartism was alive and kicking as we watched promising seasons go down the toilet thanks to dismal fadeouts in the final rounds of the season. The whole Bailey era, Neeld era and now Craig era have been peahearty. It's been a good 12 years of pea. Enough!
  6. This is how you work hard to apply defensive pressure in the backline This is the effort you get for investing 5 years of support and hundreds of thousands of dollars into a number 1 draft pick
  7. well I find it rather funny that anybody could go on to a football discussion site and criticise others when you clearly have no idea what you are talking about. Don't you watch our opposition? Don't watch games that the MFC aren't in? The effort and guts of pretty much every player in every other side leaves us for shame... in any case WTF does it matter who we are, we are talking about the supposedly elite professionals that are paid huge dollars of our money to represent the club. I am not 6'8" and 100kg or maybe I would have been given the opportunity to wear the red and blue and you can bet your balls I would be attacking the contest if I was BTW the word is 'HEROES' not 'hero's' it is a plural FFS
  8. Do others agree with this? I only saw TV, you could hear slight murmurs, I wondered what it sounded like at the ground
  9. the fact he said what he did on TFS to me is proof he is definitely leaving - he MUST have known that taking that stance publicly was going to attract a level of contempt from large portions of the supporter base... contempt that for some will never go away. If he has a single brain cell he would realise that if there is ANY chance whatsoever he is at the MFC after this year he simplay cannot take that stance publicly.. therefore, he must be gone
  10. we should have dropped him after TFS and then watched him bargain his way to a new club on the strength of three lacklusture VFL appearances. That would stitch him up nice and well
  11. well said for the life of me I just cannot understand it. I know every bloke reading this would give his right one to run out there for the red and blue, why does 90% of our list not give a damn? Why is it seemingly only us, and why does it perpetuate year after year even with the list/coaches/admin constantly being turned over? Why does a player like Jeremy Howe just go stale? You can talk about the ineptitude of coaches we have had, and the disadvantage of being in a poor financial position, but the main problem is what you identify - the attitude of the players. It's not that they are just no good, half of them were high drafts and they were for a reason, we have seen all of them at times play glimpses of good footy, even sometimes together, such as the second quarter today. WHY why why why can't we have 22 blokes on the field giving 100% every week as is the non-negotiable standard at basically every other club? Does anybody in the rooms at full time give the players a bake, stand Jack Viney up and ask the likes of Watts and Howe to explain to him why they did not try as hard as he did today? Is it considered a no-no to call players out these days, are they so petulant and protected that if you upset them they will leave and go on TV bagging you as a coach or what.. what is the story? Others have mentioned the incident where Hill kicked a goal today after just running past an almost stationary Watts, I could not believe my eyes. Why isn't the video of this shown to the whole group at the next team meeting and the question asked of Watts 'who do you think you are with this rubbish?' that is what would happen if someone at Sydney or Geelong or Hawthorn did that, every player makes sure they don't get caught with those kind of efforts because they will absolutely hear about it from the coach and the leadership group. For us nothing happens, and that creates a situation where others think they can get away with it too. When are we going to have coaches and leaders in place that make these demands and actually enforce them, it is driving me insane.
  12. it's obvious that there are many on this site who are in the same boat that I am in - I have defended him and been hopeful he would come on but time and time again we have seen his utter refusal to have a proper crack. Putting his terrible attitude on display during the week, backed up with another gutless performance has put me over the edge. I am sick to death of waiting year after year for supposedly talented kids to 'breakout' and it never happens.. now we have one who is enough of a tossbag to show publicly that he doesn't give a rats about the jumper or any of us, I'm at my limit.
  13. he is in his first year, JW is in his 5th yes that is far less than half
  14. changed my vote. Can't wait to see the back of him
  15. that was awful.. only slight positives: -nobody ever mentions the fact that we are missing our FB, ruck, CHF and FF. Obviously that is significant. -we have Toumpas, Hogan and yet another top 5 pick to come in next year -today we were down to 20 men before half time -we actually outplayed them in the 2nd qtr -after qtr time it was 34 inside 50s to 45, at least we were getting it in there a decent amount -Viney: 28 touches in his 11th game, in a 95 point loss is a really great effort. it has to be said though that Viney was the only bloke who won his position today, not a good sign at all. Joggin' Jack Watts can go F himself, you'd think that after putting himself under the burner during the week you might come out play a bit less limp-wristed and lazy than that.
  16. I agree with this - ppl saying he was nervous/ and ambushed and gave a stupid answer are leaving in a dreamworld - these things are always 'stage managed' as you put it, with a direct strategy involved.
  17. this will be more excellent promotion for the club. Here's my checklist -general discussion on what a rabble the MFC is -thinly veiled suggestions that Watts is still not very good/soft -accusations he is leaving us for a better club oh I can't wait to tune in to see Newman throw all that at him while everyone laughs at us
  18. As posted in a thread a few weeks back, I have been keeping track of our post-Neeld performances using as a measuring device our score and inside-50s against the league averages. That league average is SCORE 14.10.94, INSIDE 50s: 51 Now here are our numbers r20 - 53 - 10.17 r19 - 48 - 12.15 r17 - 50 - 11.9 r15 - 36 - 13.7 r14 - 56 - 15.13 r13 - 45 - 10.9 I have taken the liberty of taking out the 2 AWFUL efforts we had in those 8 games (vs Gee + North). That in itself is a major concern, two complete capitulations out of eight is not good at all. However, the other 6 weeks when averaged out equate to ave inside-50: 48 ave score: 12.12.84 so that's 3 inside-50s and 10 points short of the average. NB it is actually more like 7 points, as the average goals is 13.54 rounded up to 14 I really think it needs to be taken into account that this period has also been largely without Jamar, Clarke, Frawley and Dawes which are huge outs. If it wasn't for those 2 hammerings in r16 and r18 it would be pretty good reading for Craig considering how shizen we were before he took over
  19. Hird and Voss.. former captain/legends take over the helm.. worked out well.. over to you Nathan Buckley
  20. every time I click on this thread I see comments about Roos' wife and the weather and then I feel like throwing my PC out the window.
