  1. Its a great point, my sister (the lajamanu teacher) was saying how theres a few players with freakish jurrahlike skills out there, and some have been contacted by recruiters, but they don't want to come to the cities, just because its so far removed from what they know. I love how Melbourne has developed the 'brothers'. the aboriginal boys, because it means that those players know that they will be accepted and feel slightly more at home if they do come down.
  2. Bennell Frawley Mcdonald Bruce Warnock Rivers Scully Davey Grimes Bate Miller Trengove Jurrah Green Wonna Foll: Jamar Moloney Sylvia bench: Martin, Jones, Watts, Blease Does anyone know the team from round 22? it'd be interesting to compare.
  3. My cousin Tom has found out he has an exam the next day, so you can scrap him.
  4. not exactly left field, been aiming for that one for years.
  5. except Griffiths is injury prone... might throw them off. don't know how bad though.
  6. got another player, 18 yr old runner/fwd called greg. the tall cousin is Tom.
  7. talked to my cousin, a 201cm giant kid. He's in. I'm in myself for anything. Pretty useless player though.
  8. You can confirm me, but i reckon as a helper more than a player. Never played a proper game of footy in my life. I've been called the professional spectator. But I am trying to recruit my cousin. hes 17, but a 194cm big lump of a ruckman.
  9. I'm at MHS, and we're already laughing at the lame ways Xav kids seem to get themselves suspended. but now its been mentioned, anyone got any idea for muck up day which are a bit witty, but not dangerous?
  10. good timing... in the middle of yr 12 exams. But might come down, always need a break.
  11. simple answer, yes.
  12. Bell and Newton are contracted... theres plenty of threads on this.
  13. So I was down at Casey Field today, and I'm starting to realise why MFC have associated themseles with them. We all know that the last couple of years, and the next couple, are about a new start for the whole club, and the area really is just being built. A billboard in the paddock next door says "Building From The Ground Up" and thats what their doing. They've got these awesome sports facilities there, and their building a community around it. Heaps of housing is going up, and I was talking to a member of the council there today (it was a community kid's fishing day) and their really working hard on improving community by using recreation and sports. MFC could have a massive say in this with a few players involved here and there. Thats why its a good move for us. Working with a community starting from the ground up.
  14. actually working there tomorrow...
  15. anyone else get an unexplainable satisafaction when they see a melbourne sticker on the back of a car? don't why, but always do...
  16. I could see that working. Great thought. As a young guy myself, I can understand how they'd feel, and it would be a benefit.
  17. I asked my sister who taught in Lajamanu, says hes a really nice kid with a great attitude, and obviously big and strong. She said that he was one of many boys she'd seen up there with freakish skill.
  18. gah... yes please?
  19. don't complain! means we're not locked down next year. Wonder what we'll be saying/seeing in a years time...
  20. My sister lived in Lajamanu for 2 years, I'll ask her about this guy.
  21. massive trade week. I wonder where Melbourne sits in this...
  22. I know theres 3 boys who played for S.A. U/18s who went to school with Trengrove, just can't remember who they are...
  23. I was watching him play in the hawks vs richmond game, and when franklin was struggling to make an impact early, Dowler looked very strong and composed. I was impressed. don't know about consistency, but If he came, I wouldn't mind.
  24. agree... but has he played forward much? I've never seen him there. maybe I just don't notice...
  25. not sure any of those trading plans comes out in our favour. Haven't seen this guy yet, but haven't heard anything outstanding. Im just going to keep getting excited about Trengrove instead.
