Roos has always played his cards close to his chest in the pre season comp. Im sure round 1 versus StKilda looms very high in his thinking, and having Hogan and Dawes ready for then. Clark probably by round three. This is a chance to see who wants it most, as a couple are going to have to make way for the big fellas. Pederson, Fitzy,JKH,Salem and others will get their chance to impress. He would want to tune up his avenues to goal, using guys like Vince,JKH, Toumpas Howe etc. , with guys like Cross ,Tyson and Michie and Watts,adding to , and improving our ball movement on previous years.

He will probably use pederson , Howe and fitzy in key forward posts, but include guys like toumpas , blease and jkh trialling other entries forward.

Salem was in the top 5 on the ground, he just doesnt fumble, and has a bit if pace and exquisite skills. Id love to see him in the side round one.

Forgot to mention Strauss thought he was excellent.

All points to Georgiou for me. Mature age player with plenty of experience down back, and good insurance for Garlo. Harmes may surprise though, if he has an outstanding NAB series.

I believe he will stay. We have room in our cap and war chest, and i think it is imperative we keep our good players, Roos would demand that. I just think just his new contract is going to be huge, providing he has a good year this year. I know one of his best mates, and he loves the Dees and his buddies there, pretty loyal character is Chipper. Would rather stay in melbourne than Adelaide.

We also have to break the 40000 members mark.

I used to own a couple of AFL stores, amd its pretty simple really. On field success translates to sales. Compared to big teams like Carlton, Collingwood, Essendon, Richmond etc.....Melbourne ,Nth, footscray etc hardly sell at all. Its purely business. If we start getting some on field success and some excitement is created then footprint will grow.

I like the comment that salem and toumpas are almost the same person in skill level and disposal. In the future itll be like having two pendleburys running around.

Salem will pleasantly surprise. Only knows one way to go about it and thats 100% flat out. Great skills to boot.

He has an ongoing hip problem, not sure how serious it is though. I think it just annoys him and gives him niggles every now and then.

I used to be uncertain , but now im not so sure.

Bodies need time to recover. Sometimes they will do swimming or gym work etc... Remember AFL is one of , if not the most physically demanding sports in the world.
