Toumpas will overtake Wines, his skills are far better.
-
Internally , i think Rawlings could be the one , but i did hear a whisper over summer that Ling is just getting a years experience at Nth Melbourne, and will consider being Roos successor, possibly joining the Dees next season.

I agree Maldon boy, the best CHB i have seen.........absoloute champ, who kept us in so many games. By the way i visited Maldon today....beautiful place.

Gary was one of my all time faves. I went in the rooms and even got a footy signed by him as a kid.

Looks like no one attended. -
It is what it is.......no amount of gassbagging is going to change a thing.

Just a bit of tongue in cheek Pickers.

Toumpas will be a gun too. Could be the next Gary Ablett tt if he improves alot

I dont think we can blame it all on the Toumpas / Wines scenario. Watts, trengove, viney, toumpas, tyson, michie even hogan, are yet to really star consistently for the MFC during the home and away, whether it be injury, form , poor development,or their first or second years. This is "THE" year we must find a star or two. I believe though , that once viney and Hogan get a few games under their belt, they will drag the rest with them.

Terribly sad...im in total shock....copped a triple raw deal when sacked by us, then suspendeed by afl, and then cancer.
-
Its all academic anyway.....Wines is a port Adelaide player....move on. I still believe Jimmy can be a great player, we will see but give it time. The difference is also that Wines was in a very good team last year, and did his bit. Toumpas has been in a terrible team, that is scarred and has no confidence.

We get smashed in the middle because of toumpas?? What about Jones?,Viney.?, Vince?, Tyson?.....these are the designated inside ball winners, players like toumpas and watts are the go to players because they are the best kicks in the side.....takes all types to make a team.....you know, you have a tall fella who takes the ruck...etc etc...

I think Clisby might be a smokey for round one. Id be surprised if both georgiou and JKH are not in the side. I still have my fingers crossed that either hoges or dawes might make the team.
-
Forget about wines , he is a port adelaide player who has just signed for another two years. We have no other option than to support jimmy, ive seen some good glimpses, he has had a good pre season, it will come. This thread just equates to crying over spilt milk.

I havent really noticed Vineys pace as yet, am i missing something? He is as hard as nails no doubt.

Even on SEN yesterday they were discussing it and basically came to the conclusion that Hawthorn are in ominous form and looking to step up again and create history, they would thrash most sides at the minute.
-
Toumpas was bog in the intra club recently, and is still a kid. He was pretty handy against richmond too. Not all kids have the body of wines to crash in and under all the time. I still have high hopes for Jimmy, and those who have given up on him already, are simply fickle. Its the start of his second year for gods sake.

Before the Hawthorn game, and even in the Geelong game we averaged more disposals and time in possession than any other team. Being a new game plan we were cut to pieces by the best in the business, capitalizing on our mistakes and winning the inside amd outside ball. Im sure Roos will be working hard along with his assistants on how to reduce this gap against the absolute best , maybe reducing the over possesion game , and using more long kicking, although this will be hard untill we get at least two of Hogan ,Dawes or Clark back. Im still praying that at least one of hogan or dawes will start round one.

Doesnt matter how many games youve played mate....... He has had a better pre season than byrnes and is ready to go. On that logic you wouldnt play hogan if fit.

Especially ahead of JKH

The purpose was to show, we still dont have any real stars in the midfield. Hopefully the likes of Tyson and Viney will develop into what we need. We got all these new midfielders but still got smashed, however its not panic stations yet we will see how good these guys are as the season develops.
