We'll said layzie, you're often the voice of reason (and levity) around here mate, love your work 👍

I have no inside knowledge or contacts but I am able to see the fallout from those cultural issues which play out publicly and are reported on. Someone trying to play down those issues which are publicly known based on people within the club saying "nothing to see here" is fanciful.
-
To be fair, they wouldn't have much of an idea of any cultural issues which might be prevalent within the board, senior admin, FD or playing group.
-
I included it because it is emblematic of the cultural issues so many want to excuse under the current leadership. Btw we didn't finish top 4, the season doesn't end after round 22/23/24

I'm saying the culture is not as great as the club wants to think it is. To be honest I don't really care about those other clubs but yes, the culture of Collingwood in 2017 was a disaster too. Who was CEO there at the time? Keep your head in the sand Katrina, the club loves supporters like you who forgive every indiscretion of the club and every poor administrator we've had, supporters who clap the team off when 10 goals down at half time. I want to see a successful MFC, that doesn't happen when you sweep massive issues under the rug and don't hold those in charge to account.

You're right, it is normal for a player to be investigated by SIA for trafficking, other players to be implicated based on the messages found on his phone, a star player to go off the rails, another star player wanting out, players punching on in public, multiple leaks coming out of the club, a President stepping down after a disastrous radio interview after hearing not a peep for months, multiple court cases ongoing some with former administrators, serious allegations about the coaches behaviour in public and with the playing group - did I miss anything?
-
Having King Henry at RB has been huge, he is an absolute beast. He's the reason I had more than a passing interest in the Titans for a few years and with Lamar at QB I think they'll topple the Chiefs in January.
-
Would rather go with either Vrabel or a forward looking offensive coach, its an offense dominated league these days yet the Jets have always gone with a defensive minded coach. Time to try something different.
-
I love Jonesy but is he really the type of strategic thinker we need as midfield coach? He's been in media since retirement, has he done any other work in coaching?
-
Good, they should play 11 home games down there. The fewer home games they play at the G the less likely it is we will be scheduled a home game at Docklands. Not to mention with the amount of government dollars pumped into the stadium they should be using it as much as possible.
-
I mean, it would be pretty weird if it wasn't damning of a few people at this stage, wouldn't it?
-
Good call Macca Will be interesting to see if we try and make further moves, eg trade 5 & 9 for 2 & 15 or something (don't know the numbers as not sure who has which draft picks but you get the gist).
-
This is the reason the club shut the deal down in my opinion, too much supporter backlash especially after the Trac debacle.
-
Source? 😉

I sincerely hope I'm wrong.

It is highly problematic if two of your highest paid players are only gearing up because they are locked in long term and can't get a suitable trade happening. You can spin it but it is not a great outcome for the MFC. They may turn it around and fall back in love with the club but chances are it is more destabilising than not.
-
I believe this. I also believe it to be true about Petracca. That doesn't confirm whether those two players actually want out of the club or not.
-
You mean they're not really eating all the dogs??
-
It's evident in their actions, lack of public statements and the manner in which the two situations have played out. If you're incapable of applying some critical thinking to the issues at the club, that's on you. I'm sure you'll believe the club when they finally come out and confirm the two players are disgruntled and wanted to leave MFC. We should get an email about that any day now 🙄
-
Which is why your opinions are uninformed. It would be akin to saying "I only believe what [ALP/LNP] states as fact".
-
He learnt his lesson after getting the sack from Collingwood. Next time there's a review make sure you're the one doing the reviewing!
-
Schwab commissioned his own external review, remember? The Andrews Report? I'm sure someone will actually get to read it one day, til then it will remain in the top drawer of his $75k desk.
-
What makes you say that? I've only ever heard good things (albeit most of that is on here or through the media).

No, it probably won't. And we enter next year with at least two disgruntled players on our list.

What are you on about? Where I'm from when people perform poorly they are held to account. The cheerleaders on here that mindlessly support the club even when it is being mismanaged are worse than the people in the media gleefully kicking us for being a basketcase. There were many on here back during the Schwab years who didn't want to hear a bad word about that administration either, the threads will still be here if you do a search.
