Camp wars
Addressing the psychology of players is essential. Do it in a militaristic way such as the Crows did and we did is fraught with danger. It is not the way to go about it. Employing a mindfulness course sellout like the Tigers did and focusing on positive psychology is how it needs to be managed. I note our players revolted and told the FD they didn't want to do the camp again and the FD listened and cancelled it. We were laughed at and seen as weak (both players and coaches) yet ended up finishing 5th. The Crows players revolted and Collective Minds were scrapped leading to their best form for the season. They were then reinstated leading to their worst loss (in years?) against us and ended up dropping to 12th after runners up last year. Beware the fugazi.

Finals Tickets
They're the same price as general admission tickets (so about $55-$90) but I believe they are only allocating guest passes to level 4. You can check the "Finals Hub" link on the AFL membership website for more info membership.afl.com.au

Finals Tickets
Hey mate - how did you score these tickets already? They are in the AFL members section level 1 wing (ie M16-M20)? They are corporate tickets?

Finals Tickets
AFL members You should also have a MFC membership barcode as technically you are a general admission member of MFC in addition to being an AFL members - but that will cost you $80+ a ticket (although sitting in an MFC bay), buying in the AFL members area costs you $21 (although sitting with opposition/neutrals).

Finals Tickets
Depending on the expected crowd, usually you can buy multiple tickets per membership. For example my cousin has a Richmond membership and he got me a ticket to the Elimination Final vs Carlton in 2013. $80 a ticket though, not cheap!!

When do you think we had Lever sewn up? Lynch to Tigers? Scully when he jumped to the Giants? It wouldn't surprise me if there are unofficial MOU's a year out

Proposed new rules for 2019
The presentation by channel 7 is a farce, I have no idea what they're going for. I used to junk they were trying to attract the neutral audience with their inanity now I have no idea. The presentation of the game is a definite issue, the whole thing is treated like a joke and feels like it's presented by a bunch of out of touch morons cracking dad jokes.

Proposed new rules for 2019
You can add to that stop scheduling [censored] teams in prime time slots in the hope they'll one day come good because they had a large supporter base 30 years ago.

Proposed new rules for 2019
Then coaches like Ross Lyon will go even more defensive to conserve players energy. They'll park the bus to use a soccer term and try and score on fast break. Rather win 6 goals to 5 than lose 17 goals to 12.

Proposed new rules for 2019
Aussie rules should be the easiest game in the world to umpire yet they've made the umpires so confused or direct them so much that no-one knows what the hell is going on from contest to contest. Half the time you see a contest and have no idea who the free kick is going to. Was that too high or did he take out his legs? Holding the ball or push in the back? Blocking in the ruck or jumping into the opponent? Footy is a game of "freedom" to an extent - players are free to go anywhere on the ground, players are free to attack the ball without interference and if they are interfered with they get a free kick. Interference means being shepherded more than 5m off the ball, being tackled above the shoulder or below the knee, being held without the ball and being pushed in the back. If they take possession, have prior opportunity and fail to get a clean possession away (a kick or handball not just the ball spilling out) they are penalised. Start paying these fundamental rules (particularly scragging of midfielders at contests and holding the ball when you have had prior opportunity and fail to kick or handball) and you will see the game open up. Blow the whistle as soon as a pack forms instead of waiting to see if it comes out in the scrum and ball it up and you'll see congestion ease.

Proposed new rules for 2019
The only thing that will make a difference while maintaining the fundamentals of the sport is reducing the number of players on the ground. For some reason they have a bee in their bonnet about this even though it wouldn't effect the actual gameplay at all. 18 per side has been the case since the game was played by absolute amateurs now we have world class athletes playing who can run all day yet the ovals remain the same size. 12 or 14 per side would probably do the trick. The other thing this would do is make zones obsolete as it is impossible to guard enough territory with that few players on the ground. It would force clubs to play a man on man style of football.

6/6/6 will do absolutely nothing to ease congestion around the ground. The AFL is run by absolute morons I swear.

The 2019 fixture
The week before is Easter next year I think so could work
-
The 2019 fixture
17 game season should be it. Alternate home and away each year. They shouldn't reward through the fixture just give everyone an even shot at the good timeslots. This 17-5 concept they're going for is a farce and trying to fit a square peg in a round hole.

Farewell Jesse Hogan
Pavlich is going back to Adelaide any year now
-
Andrew Gaff
Poor disposal, only runs in straight lines and often gets caught for running too far. He can fix 2 and 3 but I don't think his disposal will ever be as good as Gaffs.
