  1. I've loved Salem since his debut and reckon with a decent uninterrupted run at it he will prove to be one of our most valuable players. He is class with a touch of mongrel.
  2. Recency bias? They haven't seen the injured players for 6-12 months and not since they were 17 or 16 years old whereas the rest of the draft class are scrutinised for the year and "marked up" rather than the injured players being marked down.
  3. Devil's advocate- he wouldn't need to play a tag in our midfield so would get more space
  4. 500k would be in addition to his salary paid by the AFL as an "ambassador"
  5. I'm sure he'll be happy to take up Travis Clokes old role presenting the sport once a month on Channel 9 news
  6. I remember someone saying last year that the packs aren't done by the club but some outsourced company who takes care of all the membership packages of all clubs. At least most Melbourne members got there's before Christmas, my wife is a cats member and hasn't received anything yet
  7. It's not out of the realms of possibility. Have some faith OD. The competition is very even, look at last year's finals series not any stand out teams at all.
  8. Cats already do this - I looked at getting tickets to the Geelong/Richmond game there this year (my wife is a cats fan) and it was going to cost about $120 combined for seats at the top level on the wing. She has a Geelong AFL membership but that only gets her GA admission there so she had to pay an extra 45 or so to reserve a ticket and mine was $65
  9. That's the aim of the AFL/clubs is to have so many members that games are on a reserved basis only, just like the WA/SA clubs and Essendon (when playing at Docklands). Makes them more money and the TV rights will go up when that is the only way people can watch. It's why I've held on to my AFL Membership and why I signed my kids up for it at birth, will never have a problem getting a great seat and if the Demons ever make the big one I'll be all but guaranteed a ticket.
  10. How else would you get a seat?
  11. My kids are a bit younger and got the "Little Devils" pack and they were stoked. They got a backpack, stickers, colouring book, fake tattoos and the creased Viney poster. They were wearing their backpacks and lanyards with stickers all up and down their arms last night
  12. That's weird, I did mine online and I've received one of them with Viney on the card. I think I selected Petracca for the other but it hasn't come yet.
  13. I honestly think I would stop going to games if that happened. May still watch on TV but can't be certain .
  14. I can't imagine my two boys growing up to support other teams. It would break my heart. The 4yo is well and truly indoctrinated hopefully that won't change. The 2yo is still very young but on the way.
  15. Just the booklet on how to buy them
  16. I mean, if it will make you feel better go ahead and let them know people aren't re-signing because of round 23. I'm sure they know that will happen already anyway. I just don't know what you think the benefit/outcome of emailing them would be? Do you think next time they're playing a crucial game they'll be thinking "we cant lose this otherwise we will have more members drop off"?
  17. Won't achieve anything
  18. Have the last two years taught you nothing?
  19. Goodwin sticks it up the doubters and haters By midseason everyone realises losing Watts was neither here nor there Premiership or GTFO
  20. Players that come in their rookie year and play senior footy, let alone make an impact, are the exception not the rule. Years of looking at the draft for saviours may have clouded your vision but almost all players taken in the draft are "project" players.
  21. I know nothing about him but his attributes seem to tick the boxes we need to cover.
  22. Jesus Christ this thread is depressing. Smell the roses boys and girls, the flag is ours for the taking next year
