That sucks. Maybe they'll give the 4 to Lever and he'll have a new favourite That pick was already [censored] before today's trade.
-
Lol you've got absolutely no idea mate
-
Loyalty is dead. If you're relying on loyalty to re-sign players you're stuffed. Success on the other hand
-
The melts on here will be epic once pick 31 becomes pick 35+ due to FA compo, father son and academy selections.

Norm Smith, 4 time premiership player, 6 time premiership coach, 500+ goals Jack Watts .... Yeah I can totally see the comparison

Ten Things I Learned From the B&F 2017
Dr. Gonzo replied to spirit of norm smith's topic in Melbourne Demons
After some of the seasons we've had over the last decade you want to call 2017 "horrible"? Disappointing, frustrating maybe, but horrible? It was the most excited I've been watching the footy since probably early 2005. -

It's the best and fairest, what did you expect him to say, "no comment'? -
We used the Frawley compo on Brayshaw (just to be pedantic ? )

Exactly UH, I asked the exact same thing earlier in the thread (probably 100 pages ago now) and the only answer I received were some vague conspiracies with no tangible substance or clear arguments at all. Just waffle about "more going on than there seems" etc Another question I had which went unanswered - some on here have said Jack was regularly ignored by teammates on the field after leading, making good position etc However they have also argued that Watts is universally loved by the players who will be unhappy with the decision to trade him which could lead to dissension among the ranks. So which is it? Do they dislike him and so don't kick it to him or his he well-liked by the playing group?
-
I agree
-
No, not about Watts. But if people start taking aim at Goodwin, McCartney, Viney, Jones, Jackson etc (which has already happened) and believing unsubstantiated scuttlebutt by people with no accountability for their posts it has the potential to snowball.
-
I think @Ron Burgundy is genuine and is unhappy at how this has played out. Fair enough. He's not taking pot shots, nothing new has really been added to this thread in a week. He's not the one posting unsubstantiated stuff but it's hard for people to wade through the muck when stuff gets posted anonymously (from both sides) which confirms their opinion. Hopefully after this is all said and done we can all get back to supporting the Mighty Demons because we are on an exciting journey at the moment and next year the sky is the limit as far as I'm concerned.
-
Of course it has the potential for that. Not just on here, things get spread across social media, fact becomes fiction, the natives get restless, the media stokes the fire. Things can get out of control based on some throwaway lines by people who think they're being clever pretending they have some inside knowledge and letting people make their own assumptions about what that could be. I'm not saying don't criticise the club, everyone has the right to. But if you've got something to say, say it. Don't hide behind vague allusions (not you, sue).
-
Look at how we played Port this year. Do you really think adding Watts and Motlop to their side that day would've made a difference? Watts was on our side that day and was absolutely terrible, dropping chest marks, overrunning the ball, hesitating - and that was all in the first 5 minutes.
-
See, this is what I mean. Don't go trying to read into things that aren't there frankie. Someone throws out a vague comment and makes allusions to something and then you have other posters scrambling to interpret its meaning and through Chinese whispers it has a destabilising effect on the club.
-
Just because I don't take the club at face value doesn't mean I should automatically take the incoherent ramblings of an anonymous poster at face value either. The only one "pretending" they're intelligent is the one who keeps alluding to something without ever saying what they actually mean. But yeah, I'm just lazy because I won't engage in a charade of a guessing game with you about what you THINK is happening. ??? Front up and stand by your opinion. If you've got something to say say it, don't continue with bs riddles that you think make you come across as smart.
-
I'm not saying you're wrong and this is on a bit of a tangent not strictly related to Watts but using the example raised What IS the difference between Riewoldt & Watts? Kennedy & Viney? It makes for an interesting discussion on what makes a great player a great player. You don't remember what the Saints were like in 2000? Don't remember Hudghton crying as he came off the ground because they sbatched victory from the jaws of defeat after something like 20 straight losses. Don't remember the disasters of Blight and Watson? That club was in disarray.
-
Ok so you don't know anything and will continue slinging mud at the club without actually saying what you mean. I hope you realise that some on here may get sucked in to your BS and will pass it on Chinese whispers style which could have a destabilising effect on the club.
-
Exactly does noone remember what happened last time Martin was out of contract? Wasn't happy with Richmond's offer, shopped himself around effectively walking out on the club and found the wider footy world didn't see him as being worth as much as he thought. Came back to the Tigers with his tail between his legs. Of course this story had a happy ending but the comparisons with Watts are fair dinkum insane.
-
Every club has these issues when it comes to planning for the future and list management. Just off the top of my head North discarded Harvey and Petrie last year, Hawks Mitchell and Lewis. Happens at every club, so stop using it as excuse to sink the boot in to the club.
-
You keep alluding to "something else" going on and for people to lower their eyes as if you're in the know about something. Either front up and say what you mean or stop spinning conspiracy theories while hiding behind a veil of vagueness.
-
To wit, I thought Jack was loved by all and sundry and the club was going to fracture, players were going to walk, if he's moved on. Yet they won't kick the ball to him? Strange.
-
Not really
-
Haha this is getting ridiculous now, poor Jack it's not his fault he can't get a touch the other players just won't kick it to him ????
-
Martin was 21 at the time. Watts is 26.
