  1. He's been better this year than people give him credit for, especially since being allowed to roam up the ground and use his strengths instead of plonking him in the goalsquare and trying to turn him into Plugger 2.0
  2. http://www.foxsports.com.au/afl/jesse-hogan-on-track-to-better-2015-output-after-another-starring-display-for-melbourne/news-story/861c3e28baf69de23a86bf700107eb86
  3. Only goals are reviewed I think cos there's a stop in play. Reviewing points would take too long and stop a team from kicking in.
  4. They've always said that every goal gets reviewed anyway since the introduction of the review system. It happened in one of our game's a couple of years ago where the ball was about to be bounced then was called back as it was overruled as a point.
  5. Yep - and the only vision that is close to accurate is the goal line one to see if a ball is touched/marked before or over the line (see Tippett example from Friday). But the amateur AFL won't even fork out to ensure the goal post cameras are installed at every ground! What a farce.
  6. Haha, I'm similar although I'm a left footer - I write right-handed and play tennis, bowl right handed but bat in cricket/baseball and play golf left handed. Playing basketball I shoot left-handed with two hands but shoot right-handed with one hand (like a lay up). Don't know what's going on there I just tell everyone it's because I use both hemispheres of my brain
  7. Really? Maybe I only saw the last few shots he took but I saw him miss at least 3 relatively easy shots (within 40) during the warm up.
  8. He missed every shot I saw him take in the warmup too on Sunday.
  9. Most of his misses came from around the 50 too. If he marks it ~45 out I assume he'll miss as the effort to get the ball the extra 5 metres means it swings offline.
  10. We definitely nailed this pick - interesting to see the difference between our drafting and Collingwoods since Taylor came over no wonder Eddie was filthy when we poached him.
  11. So he's kind of like a Schroedinger's Hogan?
  12. Relax, we've got this.
  13. We've got a game in 4 days, probably not the ideal preparation to take 2x4 hrs flights mid week.
  14. Langdon, Hardie and Crackers? Don't waste your time fretting over what those nimrods might say.
  15. Agreed - I don't think it's hyperbole to say he could be the best forward we've had in the clubs history. Neitz and Schwarz were both good not great (Schwarz due to injury), Farmer and Jakovich were mercurial but inconsistent, we've never really had a true "spearhead" or champion CHF since the days of Fanning and Smith. If he left it would be a disaster.
  16. Especially once we start getting exposure in FTA prime time games, this guy will drag in the supporters.
  17. Exactly, even when down he still impacts the game and provides a target for us upfield. The only "poor" game he's had was against the Bombers, every other game he's played his role while threatening to explode at any moment. The less focus on him the better as far as team balance goes but even when not spearheading the side he remains the linchpin of the team. Will be a dominant CHF for the next decade, hopefully the Weed comes on as a full forward with Watts as the roaming 3rd tall and Garlett/Kent/Petracca crumbing to really cause headaches for opposition defences for years to come.
  18. I think it's because it's based on the past 2 years worth of performances. Gawn has only really played the last 3/4 of a season (since mid last year) and Hogan only started last year too.
  19. The amount of injuries they've got? If we're serious, I think we should win this game. It's not taking them for granted it's looking at the teams on paper and saying this team should beat that one.
  20. Short turn around - Saints played the same day as us last week. Inability to play Etihad - this is a flaw, not an excuse Way the Saints match up on us - they play well against us but don't think its due to match-ups - they play smarter than us Beat the Suns next week - dunno, you're probably right but it won't prove much in my eyes. We should beat the Suns next week so it won't be some crowning achievement. It should be the expectation.
  21. This year, yeah - but the last 4 or so years? Don't disagree with any of that. I was just pointing out that we underperform more frequently than time to time.
  22. Twice in 5 games isn't "time to time" though, it's 40% of games. Not saying things won't improve but that's how things are as they stand.
  23. I think he likes playing at Docklands- kicked 6 there last year as well didn't he?
  24. Vince was pushed out the door by the Crows.
  25. Are you saying players want to make sure Roos is gone before re-signing?
