  1. Exactly! And his response to the criticism is even more spin. Which is ironic considering some of the findings of the report. How about "sorry" for any hurt caused and showing some vulnerability. Nah, Eddie and the Pies just "deny, double-down and deflect".
  2. https://www.buzzfeed.com/amymcquire/former-collingwood-teammate-leon-davis-backs-heritier https://www.3aw.com.au/two-more-of-heritier-lumumbas-teammates-back-claims-of-racist-nickname/ https://www.foxsports.com.au/afl/former-richmond-and-collingwood-player-andrew-krakouer-opens-up-on-racism/news-story/94b6ac6c3ed3c85f06eb75dac548e580
  3. At least yesterday proved they've taken on board the findings of the report - oh wait, no, it only reaffirmed that the behaviour is ingrained and nothing has actually been learnt. https://www.bbc.com/news/world-australia-55882443
  4. They probably could have investigated it under point 1 of the terms of reference if they wanted to. https://resources.collingwoodfc.com.au/aflc-coll/document/2021/02/01/9160747e-8def-4ea7-9713-63ce57cef396/Do_Better_CFCReport-pdf.pdf
  5. I'm pretty sure if you reflect on it you'll understand why this is a poor comparison.
  6. jnrmac trying to undermine the findings of the report by attacking the character of the author, why am I not surprised? Did you learn other tricks from Sky News or just this one?
  7. It's not just racism either, its the culture of the organisation and racism is only one aspect. Look at the way they tried to protect Shaw/Didak/Swan/Sidebottom (accidentally walked out the front door looking for the toilet ? ) etc when they were involved in off the field incidents. Look at the comments made by Eddie and the other Triple M boofheads about Caroline Wilson when the Big Freeze was on a few years back. Its a toxic culture all round (not saying its different from other clubs but its more transparent as their Pres is in the media all the time and often putting his foot in his mouth).
  8. Was stiff not to get it last year
  9. Obviously we are the "hardcore" supporters on here but for me it is times like these when I would take out a membership without hesitation. Once the dust settles can rethink things but for me signing up means becoming a member, not just a season ticket holder.
  10. I agree the ticket sales etc are abominable but these are done through Ticketmaster something the club has limited control over
  11. Bumping this thread as it is a great offseason read for anyone wanting to sink their teeth into a bit of tactics/strategies. Lots of great links posted and the EPL articles have more context for me now since I have started filling Spurs this season.
  12. I really wish they would forget about the social club, it's a white elephant and as you say a waste of valuable space. If/when it's built I may be proven wrong but how many people are going to wander past there on their way out of the G if it's a night game or a late Sunday game, let alone in general. 6 months of the year and 6 days a week for the rest of the year it will be left dormant. Much better idea to focus on getting a dedicated area at the G that is accessible to all members (not just MCC) if they want to have a social club location. Isn't Collingwood's in the Ponsford Stand? Surely we could use the area behind the Legends reserved seats on level 2 of the Northern Stand (from memory there is a bar in there?)
  13. I may have missed it in previous reports but any word on Sparrow? Can't recall him mentioned in any if the training reports to date, is he injured? I thought he did ok when given a chance last year.
  14. I agree he was OK, showed some glimpses but really needs to nail his chances. He missed 2 relatively easy snaps against the Dogs and some chances in other games too. Convert those and he'll be a player for us.
  15. Wasn't he injured most of 2019?
  16. This brought a tear to my eye, I remember markc's posts about his wife's battle. My thoughts are with his kids, hopefully they have a great support network around them to help them through this horrible time.
  17. True to an extent however not sure how many other clubs would pick him up if we delisted him.
  18. I wonder why Saban didn't reach the same heights as an NFL coach? https://www.saturdaydownsouth.com/alabama-football/heres-why-nick-saban-knew-he-wasnt-a-fit-for-the-nfl/
  19. Lol at blaming the hubs because these meatheads can't keep their [censored] in their pants
  20. Plot twist! Would've laid down good money they'd blame it on Lucifer
  21. I think they tell you when you get the renewal email to login to your member account for those extras. I'm an AFL member with MFC club support but I've done it for my kids memberships (selected a player for the card as well as purchase the birthday club add-on).
  22. Without having read the paper I wonder whether the author has accounted for other factors such as a new coach clearing out experienced players, implementing a new game style etc I'm assuming you've read this, are you able to recall whether these other factors were accounted for or whether it was a pure numbers analysis?
  23. May is a level above them. Viney has the mentality but not the communication/people skills, Maxy has the communication/people skills but not the mentality.
  24. The Swans/Freo games were massive blemishes against him and the team but let's not also forgot we were pretty unlucky not to score wins against the Lions, Cats and even the Tigers earlier in the year. I still have (blind) hope that Goodwin and the team can get things to click this season but he is on his last chance.
