Daff left because he wasn't happy with the arrangement when Misson was brought in from memory. It was more to do with Misson sitting above Daff in the structure I think giving the "sports scientist" final say over the doctor. In light of what happened at Essendon you can't blame him.

The only thing I really want to see is no game in Geelong. We go there almost every year, time to rotate it a bit more fairly. Minimal Sunday twilight games would be good too, it's too hard with young kids and generally poor atmosphere. I won't hold my breath though.

And "home" in China? That's a pretty rough schedule

For anyone interested in the data analytics/off field side of the game give the podcast "Trends with Mark McGowan" a listen. I just found it a couple of weeks ago and smashed the whole series in a couple of weeks. Some great stuff in there particularly the episodes with Ben Darwin (ep 16) Seth Partnow (ep 21) and Cody Royle (ep 23)

We won't get home games against Essendon or Carlton because we are hosting Collingwood and Richmond If we only host 3 interstate teams that means a minimum 5 interstate games next year. More likely we host 5 interstate sides (including one in Alice) and have a double up match against at least one of those, more likely two

Watch his game vs West Coast 2017. Pretty much willed us across the line in that last quarter -
Of course it's a flakey article. It's a Herald sun article. About the AFL. In October. 3 strikes.

Plus May giving it to him against the Lions

The AFL will never get between a player and their club of choice. As soon as a player challenges the afls player transfer rules in court the whole house of cards comes down

Is murray actually a [censored] or just perceived because of his suspension?

Improve the basic fitness levels and the skills and gameplan will follow.

Langdon is a better footballer than Hunt, Hunt can sometimes lack awareness and often rubs himself into trouble. Langdon is also a better field kick though Hunts kicking for goal improved markedly in 2019.

I don't mind docklands anymore. I'm in the northwest suburbs now so docklands is actually easier for me to get to than the G. Easier when taking kids too, can't find parking close to the G anymore and you don't have to worry about them sitting in the cold/wind/rain.

Still better than Darwin

Worked out ok for Carlton when they took Nick Stevens. Just take him and deal with the rest later. At the very worst we trade him to Carlton in 12 months and get something out of them they otherwise would have banked
-
The academies, father sons and priority picks are all a rort. Welcome to the AFL.
-
Carlton were willing to pay him $1.8m over 2 years?! If so that is insane, no wonder he nominated them and noone else bothered talking to him. Wonder if that price stays on his head going to the draft
-
They're two different things though. A club delisting a player means they no longer want him, have actively delisted him and he becomes a free agent. An uncontracted player means club and player were unable to come to terms and his contract lapsed following the trade period. He is not delisted at that stage just uncontracted. So he is not a free agent but he can go back into the national or preseason draft. Otherwise every uncontracted player would just let their contracts lapse and become delisted free agents.
-
A future 2nd and a 6 pick downgrade? Silvagni was a great player but a rubbish list manager.
-
His contract expires October 31 so he would be an uncontracted player as of November 1 and can go to the draft.
-
They don't have to delist him do they? If they can't get him to sign a new contract he has to go to the PSD as an uncontracted player (not a delisted free agent) where Gold Coast can simply draft him again as they have first pick in the PSD.
-
Same thing that happened with Heeney. We select him and then they have to match the pick with enough points from their remaining picks.
-
Nah it would be so they DON'T have to take Green. They would select someone else with 3 then match a bid for Green later in the draft. Staying at 6 means missing out on the extra player as they would need to use 6 to match a bid for Green at 3, 4 or 5. So basically they'll get Green either way but this allows them to get someone else on top (eg Serong)
-
True but they can deal with that next year by trading back in to those rounds as long as the AFL signs it off (which they certainly would)
