  1. I imagine TMac will be back for the Port game rather than asking Jackson to backup after a 4 day break
  2. They already got Heeney, Mills & Blakey for nothing as well as COLA which helped them pinch Buddy. What they can't miss the finals more than one year in succession? May as well just creat divisions/conferences if you want to ensure certain teams have a better chance at finals every year.
  3. 2 games for 2 goals vs 5 games for 4 goals?
  4. And Essendon are just a pain in the [censored] to deal with. They'd probably want Brayshaw plus a 2nd rounder
  5. I would bring in Jones but after reading the McGowan article in the fixture thread it sound like Tomlinson in for VDB might be the only change unless Nev pulls up sore (he seemed to hurt his shoulder slightly at the end of last week's game in the contest where Wingard hurt his foot).
  6. Finally someone acknowledges our hard fixture! Hasn't rated a mention on 360 or On The Couch it was all about the Pies Cats and Bulldogs! Cats have a rough stretch but the only have to jump on a plane once from WA to Brisbane. It is rough being on a 4 day break but nowhere near as bad as what we've copped
  7. The only one we have on FTA is the Thurs game against Port. The rest are all Fox games
  8. How old is he? I don't see Essendon wanting to let him go but maybe a swap for Brayshaw.
  9. Williams. I don't think Cameron would be a good target for us, would cost a fortune and he wouldn't be getting the delivery he gets at GWS. Plus I have faith in Weideman to develop and Jackson to be able to play that roaming CHF role.
  10. I'd rather chase Zac Williams. Would be cheaper and fill a need coming off half back/wing.
  11. Jones for VDB Initially I was leaning towards TMac for Jackson but then I started questioning it. The only reason to bring him in is experience and a bigger body. If it's wet he's not likely to be clunking more marks than Jackson, Jackson is better below his knees and also offers a proper chopout for Maxy in the ruck. Keep Jackson in for this one then rest him against Port and bring in TMac then.
  12. They are also mistaking "emotion" for passion.
  13. North is playing in Qld the week before they play us. They have a game against Brisbane in Tas after our game.
  14. I saw an article the other day saying North were going to be based in Tas for 4 games
  15. Playing in Tassie isn't the issue. PLaying in Queensland, Adelaide and Tassie in a 10 day span before heading back to Queensland is the issue when you compare it to the fixtures of the other teams. Collingwood is the only other team with as raw a deal as us. Geelong have a 4 day break going from WA to QLD but they are in WA for 3 weeks then in Qld for 3 weeks. We are hopping from state to state to state to state. 4 states in 16 days its ridiculous! We had better be ending the home and away season with a block of games in Qld. You can bet we will get another 4 day break to meet the maximum of three 4 day breaks per team, I am just hoping that it is shared around and plenty of other teams are copping 3x4 day breaks as well!
  16. Good ball user of half back/wing Dunno who is available but that is what we need Small lockdown defender to takeover Nev as well but depends how Lockhart comes along I guess
  17. I wonder how the players families who are relocating to the Queensland hub would feel about that? They'd be thinking why did I even bother coming up here?
  18. Whats the best it comes down to that game as to whether we play finals or not? Standalone game at the end of the season, defacto wildcard game?
  19. Anyone willing to compare our fixture to every other team and convince me we didn't get screwed!!? I had a quick look over every team's run and ours seems easily the worst! 2x 4 day breaks plus having to play in 3 states in 10 days. The Tassie game kills us, I assume we are going there because we will be absolved of playing in Perth as we've already played the Eagles? Very interested to see who else goes there at the moment it's just us and Brisbane and Brisbane won't leave Queensland until then. The "bye" we've already had kills us as well, absolute rubbish the AFL will get away with that, surely the AFLPA would have something to say about that??
  20. Reading that thread is hilarious. You could change the names around and think you were reading demonland. And they won a hat-trick of flags only 5 years ago!!! Imagine if we ever win (another) hat-trick we'd be set for life!!
  21. I think he simply misread the room. He thought with the shortened games the quickest team would win. That's why he preferenced small forwards over having another key forward, that's why he wanted Bennell to get a couple more weeks in him rather than go at 50% gametime, that's why the players were going gung-ho at a frenetic pace. He was proven wrong and so has rejigged things to go with a more traditional setup. It's a shame because I genuinely think we should have beaten Geelong and Richmond and that's on him. But at least we've got it right now and if we can keep up the form we saw on the weekend I don't think anyone will be complaining.
  22. Footage? I can't remember this at all
  23. I don't get why they went after Wingard. Burton was coming along nicely for them and didn't want to leave and the pick they sent to Port ultimately ended up as Zac Butters I think.
  24. We were awful tonight, but Melbourne were sensational. When the game was there to be won, we couldn’t get our hands on the ball. There’s not much you can do in that situation, that was some of the best footy I’ve seen all year. -------------- For as sh*t as we were and all the problems we have I think we have to give credit to Melbourne because they were really good. Gawn dominated.
