It really is a nothing story but to be honest I never got why footy players/athletes were prone to this kind of behaviour. Combined with the desire to dress in women's clothes for "player review" type functions and it seems there's a lot of repressed stuff going on there

Yep

He's not a footballer and should be off the list next year. Not even worth persisting with as depth.

Good to get the win especially against the Bombers We played 1 quarter though! Should've won by 10+ goals Essendon are trash

We look so much better when Oliver is kicking the footy Petracca is elite Is Shiel playing?
-
Poor disposal again. Poor leadership again. Missed set shots again. Fritsch the main culprit again. Where can the improvement come from to take us from a mid-table side to a top 4 side?

With us I assume you mean

I agree the only thing that could possibly impact that is that it is in Cairns. Freo have been playing decent footy (7-5 since losing their first 4) but the Dogs will get the job done and we will be left once again to think what might have been had we not [censored] the bed twice in 5 days.

Membership Renewal emails from the club...
Dr. Gonzo replied to hardtack's topic in Melbourne Demons
I've got a 7 and a 5 year old and sometimes I just question whether I am setting them up for a life of disappointment ? Both have been members since birth though -
Hopefully it makes those who think Viney is dispensable rethink their position

What sort of phone do you have? On the Samsung I have screen capture widget which I can swipe on at anytime which also has a gif capture option I assume other phones have something similar. Not sure about PC's though.

The club has been managed extremely well off field which is what makes the thought of a board challenge laughable. If the team was winning no-one would be questioning the board, Bartlett or Pert.
-
Have we been suffering these kinds of injuries more than other clubs? It certainly feels like it. Mitch clark, Trengove, Hogan, Viney, TMac now Angus. I'm sure there's others in there as well, maybe Dunn?

"Managed their finances well" is a euphemism for "being given financially lucrative fixtures for the last 25 years"

It's not communistic, it's co-operative. This is how things were run in the early days of the competition and when the AFL specifically pursues policies of profit/crowd maximisation that favour some clubs at the expense of others (oppposition, timeslots etc) then a revenue sharing model is the only choice. Of course it will be opposed by those who benefit from it.

Saad is good, not great. He breaks the lines which is exactly what we need. I wouldn't want to pay more than a 2nd rounder for him though he would be best 22 for us off half back.
-
Who the hell is paying a million for Zac Williams?? No way known he gets that unless he goes to North, they have to pay someone I guess.
-
If they take all TMacs salary as well
-
More than an early 2nd rounder? Wants to play finals so why come to Melbourne? Of course we think/hope we will be playing finals in 2021 and beyond but for an outsider they'd look at 1 finals finish in 14 seasons as unlikely to fulfill that need. If we can trade him for TMac I'd be all for it but player/player trades rarely happen anymore. If they do maybe we could throw in OMac as steak knives and get a 2nd rounder back ?
-
We got Rivers with a 2nd round pick. Gunston might have 3-4 years left, Rivers should have 12-15 years all things considered. That's why.
-
That's a very silly way to approach things. As shown in my post mistakes are made by everyone, even 4 time premiership coaches.

Wouldn't they have to prove negligence to succeed in a class action? The circumstances in the AFL are completely different to those in the NFL who for years ignored and actively tried to cover up medical research which indicated a link between playing football and CTE or the symptoms associated with it, most notably severe migraines, memory loss and other cognitive issues as well as mental health issues which in some cases led to suicide most notably from Junior Seau. In recent years the NFL have made rule changes to limit the incidence of head knocks but there was a period of about a decade where they ignored it which is where the negligence lies. The AFL has not ignored it as far as I'm aware and has been making changes to "protect the head" for 15 or so years at least. The issue is no-one knows exactly what types of hits are the issue. It's not just strikes to the head or incidents leading to someone being concussed or knocked out. It could be the cumulative effect of hits to the body causing a whiplash effect leading to the brain impacting the skull. There are concerns that repeatedly heading the ball in soccer, particularly for juniors, could be an issue. No-one knows and it can only be picked up post mortem. The NFL have limited training sessions where they are allowed to have full contact, that could be something we see in future AFL/AFLPA CBA's (if it's not in there already).

Pert seems confident, lets wait and see.

what are you referring to here?
