  1. I hate it but glass houses and all that. Spargo and Kozzie have been guilty of the exact same thing this year.
  2. Might need to go on TMac's diet
  3. So even more arbitrary. So say we have pick 18 ( ) and are looking at this club who is part of another clubs NGA. What happens if our pick gets pushed back to 21 because of Father/Son or Northern Academy picks, we miss out on that kid?
  4. No, they changed the rules after last year that first round bids can't be matched I believe (unless its a northern academy!)
  5. Yes someone on BigFooty mentioned this a few months ago and I couldn't believe it! For the "blue collar" club they have become extremely exclusive.
  6. Sheedy? I was referring to Hardwick but description fits Sheedy as well. I wish they had played for/coached us.
  7. Disgraceful and it's only one example of what he's been doing for almost 30 years
  8. Is it any surprise? He's from the Sheedy school, he was a scumbag as a player and as a coach he's imparting the same to his team.
  9. Agreed, from her answers it seemed as though they haven't even settled on a location yet! If Pert wants to hit the targets set by the board in regards to this they'd want to get a crack on.
  10. I watch a bit of Geelong as my wife is a cats supporter and I think we could do worse. Would be an upgrade on our squad at the very least and wouldn't cost us much.
  11. Similar was said about Langdon when we were looking at him wasn't it?
  12. I think we're winning through system, not talent at the moment and I'm not sure Brown fits that well into our system. Sure if TMac didn't regain his form he'd be a decent combo with Weid but with TMac playing out of his skin it means we have the luxury of being able to pick and choose our preferred combo. We're not going to alter our structure to clear out the 50 and create space for Brown especially not with the form we're in. With regards to Weid I think he came on pretty well last year and would've kept improving had he not had to be the lone man up forward for the second half of the season. With TMac injured/out of form and Jackson injured Weid struggled being the only one up there and being double teamed, especially with the way we were playing and bombing it on top of his head. I thought he showed great intent last week attacking marking contests even though he let a couple slip through his hands. He missed two shots for goal but they were both from 50 out on the boundary. Brown was playing deep last week forcing Weid further up the ground (when he wasn't backup ruck) so I'd like to see him having a run at it as the deep forward with TMac and Jackson playing higher/rotating into the ruck. Weid's numbers last year for a key forward were pretty good and it's easy to forget he's only 23 (24 next month). I still believe that with a decent run of games, support around him, maturity and development he can grow in confidence and become our key forward target for the next 10 years. Look at Hawkins, he was much maligned his first few seasons and it wasn't really until 2010/11 he started playing with consistency (and that was in one of the all time great sides). Now he is considered one of the best key forwards of the last 5-10 years.
  13. Brown was pretty poor on Sunday I thought. All arms and legs going for marks, no pressure when the ball hit the deck, didn't impact the scoreboard. At least Weid has shown a willingness to tackle, I'm not sure Brown fits that well into our structure. Good backup though.
  14. Yeah would've preferred Sparrow but I'm happy with Brown out for Dogga. Glad they're giving Weid a run to prove himself and to be honest I think he offers more around the ground than Brown. Will be interesting to see how he goes working from the square instead of having to make way for Brown and not having to take ruck duties with Dogga back in.
  15. Don't you love it how they add it into the last paragraph, almost as an afterthought? There should be an entire article explaining and breaking this down like you guys have in this thread. They're not unbeatable though, far from it. They have a stacked midfield but similar to us when it was "match them on the inside beat them on the outside" I think it's "match them in the stoppages and you can beat them in the offense" because their defense is lacking.
  16. That play it looked as though Carlton were headed for an easy goal - their player was out the back on his own at least 40m in space. We had at least 4 players running back to cover (can't remember who but I think at least one of Langdon/Hunt was there if not both) and Petty ultimately took an uncontested mark. I was impressed by the level of hard running multiple players did to get back to cover the player out the back to ensure we did not give up an easy goal. If Petty hadn't have marked it at least one of the other players would have made the spoil.
  17. Same as any other shares or the entire capitalist system really
  18. On the flipside my 8 year old son thinks we'll never lose again!
  19. You'll be able to get a ticket just depends where you want to sit and how much you want to pay. I'd say GA tickets go on sale Wednesday after Members? Or is it Thursday?
  20. Tickets at Docklands are actually on TICKETMASTER. MCG is Ticketek.
  21. Thanks mate I've added it to my "to read" list on Goodreads. I watched a doco called "The Money Masters" a while ago which seems to have had a similar premise.
  22. Yeah but their financial advisors will ?
  23. I'll spare your female sensibilities but the optics aren't as good if you know what I mean
  24. Haha no I wish I could get across there - I hope he's out representing this weekend though whoever he is
  25. I still don't get how Daniel wasn't cited for this tackle (hoping link works - if not it's the "tackle" at 4:51 in quarter 2 on AFL Stats Pro) - as far as I'm aware no one even mentioned it either when it happened or at any point after! https://www.afl.com.au/stats/stats-pro
