  1. His development curve is.

    Cale Morton

I wouldn't let Daniher coach the Malvern U/8 squad.
  3. I thought they could try Bate down back to start the game. Running out of the back line and linking up with our midfield may give him the boost he needs to get back to the form he showed pre-Bailey.
  4. I would be OK with that. Its not that Dunn has performed poorly, it is just that his role could be filled by someone younger and with more upside to his game. I often watch him and wonder how he is going to help us long term. Bail could be a smokey to debut against the Dogs.
  5. Can anyone explain to me how Davey featured in any votes yesterday? Defensive pressure was down, run and carry was down as was his overall impact. I thought Nicoski did a very good job on him. Strange. For what it is worth: 6 Moloney - Since learning to stay healthy and lower his eyes has improved significantly. 5 Jones - Great game. He, Morton and Bruce would have covered some serioues KMs. 4 Morton - Ran to space forward of the ball early then played impressively across half back. 3 Bruce - His weight of numbers and creative run outweighs the lack of accuracy at times. 2 Johnson - Surprised me. Drops the ball like a monkey falling out of a tree which leads to some absolute howlers. Same with Bruce. 1 Bennell - Impressed me at the Intra-Club and just continues to improve. Showed more dash and positive play than previous weeks. Honourable mention goes to Miller, Grimes, Maric and Bartram who all showed some positive signs.
  6. Sylvia had far more influence than McLean. Your posts regarding Sylvia have become tiresome.
  7. 1. Frawley, Bennell, Cheney and Martin. Promising defence. Add Grimes, Strauss and Buckley later in the season. 2. Players successfully returning from injury. (Ricky, Robbo, McLean, Rivers etc al) 3. Harder running midfield. Morton is a master of this. 4. Davey. Back from the brink. 5. Sponsorship and membership. 6. The form of Chris Johnson. Negatives: 1. Injuries...... Was looking forward to seeing Blease at least play for Casey. Buckley, Green, Grimes, Garland, Wheatley are Wona required players. 2. Crowd numbers. 3. General lack of respect from the football public 4. The form of Bate, Johnson and to a lesser extent Bruce. I was hoping that Bruce would show more leadership this season.
  8. Maric has better skills, awareness and pace than Jetta and will become a mid who can play forward and kick goals. Not sure if you have seen him this season but he is much bigger than last year and will be able to cope with physical intimidation from Geelong. In any case: I actually hope we go on the attack this weekend and play some more skilled smarter players. Out: Johnson, Newton, Jetta and a negative/defensive type player. I havent decided who yet. In: Pencil, Robbo, Maric, Grimes
  9. Those rose coloured glasses must be comfy. I expect all players to chase and run, he wasn't alone last night. We worked hard but lacked the class and skills to cut up the Adelaide zone. Added to this he had 1 tackle and his shot at goal was around 35-40m out, look at the tape. Top marks for trying but he isnt producing many attempts at goal for himself or others. I am interested that you mention his heritage. It is irrelevant. The role he plays at the moment is a role he isn't suited to. He isn't a crumbing small forward with great skills and clean hands. nor is he a great forward line pressure player and he looks lost further up the ground but it is an area that may be his only chance to be a useful player. He should work on this at Casey as he can't do it with the Dees yet. On Wona, we weren't spoilt. He is a far smarter player than Jetta as he can't "run like the wind" or "turn on a sixpence" either. He relies on his ability to be in the right place at the right time and his clean skills. Bartram is a player in a similar vein to Godfrey. If his decision making and skills don't improve he has to be dropped.
  10. He must "run himself into the ground" early and often as he looked like he was running on the spot from the 1st bounce. I don't think his defensive work is even average by todays standards, he is too slow and doesn't get to the right areas at this stage in his career. You do realise he is the bloke wearing 39 right?
  11. Craig had the audacity to blame us for the game style. I was happy to hear Grant Thomas give him a whack around the ears for saying that.
  12. I didn't boo him. I didn't see the point. If you want to boo someone, boo Craig or Trigg who failed to uphold societies values. Guilty or not, Bock has damaged the image of the game and deserved a longer penalty, Craig and Trigg did the game, women and Bock a disservice by making the penalty 1 week.
  13. Bartram - MUST improve offensively Bate - Played wrong position Bennell - Continues solid form Bruce - Fell into trap Davey - Class skill pace Dunn - Should be forward Frawley - Our best defender Jetta - Needs more development Johnson - Fear the "Pencil" Jones - Tried but wasteful Martin - crucial let up McDonald - no enough leadership McLean - Tried but wasteful Meesen - A walking comedy Miller - Cant direct players Moloney - Worked and succeeded Morton - Provides run, options Newton - Needs to reload Petterd - Almost a star Rivers - Absolutely a star Sylvia - better than perceived Warnock - solid without starring Just a little more about Johnson. He should be dropped. That was without doubt his worst performance for the season. His nickname is Hightower but the character which he is named after rips seats out of cars with his bare hands. PJ couldnt rip toilet paper off the roll.
  14. If news spreads that Jack Watts kicked 15 goals for Casey tonight then about 42,865. If, as I suspect, Jack struggles and Robbo does little to influence the game tonight then you can cut the amount of MFC supporters by half. In that case, 36,625.
  15. Interestingly, after speaking to a person with a fair amount of clout at the club I was lead to believe that the fat, lazy logo on the alternate jumpers is not set in stone to be our logo from next season. There is a push for a more old fashioned, 'angrier', less stylized logo. There is also a push to change the acuteness of the V on our normal jumper along with ensuring the blue stays a true navy blue. The jumper will look more like the picture that poster 'CarnTheDees' uses.
  16. when are the teams for the 'main event' coming out? I can't handle the suspense. Do I get to Casey at 4pm or 7pm?????
  17. Int: Jones, Maric, Petterd & Spencer
  18. The baying masses? That is more amateurish than anything I posted. I haven't seen or heard for mass player omissions. Still, I quite enjoy how you judge posters on this site so vigorously, what would this site be without you? You're correct. I have no idea if any players are under injury clouds going into the game. It doesn't change my view that some players should not be in the 25. You cannot reward such a mediocre performance from some of the players.
  19. I am happy for the coaching staff to wait until 5pm. How could you possibly contort what I said to mean that I want the final team now? I am disappointed that players such as Johnson and Jetta are even in the 25 man squad. Wise indeed.
  20. So youre saying to me that after getting our arses handed to us by collingwood there were no automatic omissions? Ridiculous. Bailey is acting very "Daniherish" here.
  21. I would have selected him. he can kick.
  22. I am a little intrigued as to why there are no 'outs'. Seems like a fairly soft stance. The only justification I can see is that perhaps our playing stocks are so thin at the moment that we would be shuffling deck chairs. Johnson should be dropped. His workrate wasn't up to scratch and I think Jetta needs 12 months in an athletic program to work on his pace. His footy smarts seem ok but he gets caught quite a lot for a 'pacey' small forward. Just looking at that squad makes you realise how much more heavy pruning needs to be done..... Bring on 2012
  23. Sit on the top tier of the Ponsford for s#### and giggles. Just make sure you have a few friends and are prepared for a little saliva saturation from the ferals. Great fun, win or lose. Some of my fondest memories are from sitting near/next to Collingwood fans. Waverley Park, when Gavin Brown kicked a goal after the qtr time siren (which wasn't paid) I happened to be right next to the Collingwood cheersquad. They were going nuts. Was that fun or what?!?!?!
  24. No. Instead they offer members $200 raffle tickets......
  25. Jetta is closer to playing for 2 reasons. 1. He plays in an area of the ground which we are deficient (injuries and lack of depth). IE the forward line. 2. He is physically bigger and stronger and looks like he could cop the punishment. For mine, Bennell is a better prospect long term but he will take a while to fill out from the looks of him. His comment in the Melbourne Magazine about adding only 2 more kilos is laughable. He is pretty fearless in my eyes but he bounced off a couple of Doggies players a couple of weeks ago.
