  1. There's a lot of criticism about Goodwin but I don't think anyone here is crazy enough to think he should be sacked. Hinkley definitely shouldn't have lasted as soon as he has.
  2. On current form GWS and Brisbane are far and away the best teams in it.
  3. This would be a good outcome for the AFL.
  4. We've lost Hogan, Jackson and Bedford on Goodwin's watch.
  5. Video from a Carlton support. Epitomises our entire structure and game plan. Players screaming for it in the corridor and our option is to just blaze forward.
  6. Isn't draft order based on finishing position after H&A?
  7. Salem and Langdon aren't suited to our current style. Unless we return to 2021 form where our games are more open and free flowing, they will be liabilities. I honestly feel like we looked like a better team without Salem this year. They're both Ferraris (or try to be) in a garage of Mustangs and Ford Escorts. They just don't apply the pressure suited. They're downhill skiers. I honestly think Langdon lost probably 5-6 key battles the past two weeks that led to goals. He also kicked it out on the full like 5 times last night.
  8. Wouldn't call it a waste. Sparrow, Rivers, McVee, JVR all improved and progressed. Even Pickett did to a degree. I thought he had a solid finals series. He'll be better for it. Smith had a good finals series. Petty had a good season when he played. Lots of upside. The biggest waste comes from the top end of the list who badly let us down time and time again. Leaders went missing or choked multiple times throughout the year when game was on the line. Players that consistently stood up were Rivers, McVee, Petty, who at times almost single handedly kept us in games which is amazing given their experience. It's a waste insofar as we've been in the top 4 for like 69 of the last 70 rounds and couldn't have win a final at the MCG in that time.
  9. Just came here to remind everyone that we paid 700k to an AA ruckman to not play so we could play a VFL plodder because we needed a "big body" that could bring the ball to ground except he barely got near it. Only to then have Petracca and Oliver take the ruck at some stoppages in the last quarter.
  10. Out of his depth. Just bizarre comments regarding Schache.
  11. I doesn't matter what I say here. Some of you can't accept that the club is devaluing the flag itself.
  12. You're not talking match winners here. And it's not like we didn't put ourselves in a position to win. We were clearly in positions to quite easily win without those players. We choked. You mean to tell me Collingwood playing without a ruck for half a season, missing Moore, Daicos, Sidebottom for large chunks... actually you don't mean to tell me anything. They still find a way to win. We choked. Deal with it.
  13. Has our spud of a coach had a press conference yet.
  14. They're lasting games tho. Fitness is clearly not an issue. And we've barely been hit by injuries compared to what the Pies have dealth with over the past two seasons.
  15. It was a very poor coaching performance. Goodwin was exhausted and you could tell. Schache as a sub. The coaching team just wasn't thinking straight. They were out of ideas. Spargo is a good role player but isn't winning you a game in the 4th. Our match winners choked. It was poor decision making to target Grundy and then not even back him in. You think bringing a player in like that who has such significant cultural impact as he did, almost immediately being "one of the boys" to suddenly being overlooked, doesn't have some sort of impact? Bringing in guys like Jordon when you have even a spark like Woewodin waiting to bring some energy in. Throughout 2022 refusing to play JVR so that in 2023 he is essentially still a rookie and inexperienced. It's a learning curve for Goodwin still and I'm sorry and people can attack me but I've never seen a choke like this in my life watching football. We were spooked so bad. And it completely dilutes the value of our flag. Some here refuse to admit it because they live in a bubble but as soon as we come up against the big boys we choke. And Goodwin is yet to show the coaching nuance to counter it.
  16. Someone quote me. https://twitter.com/maxlaughton/status/1702663483190329743?s=19
  17. It has nothing to do with Burgess lol It is still *cultural*. We have choked on the big stage in a way literally no other club has in the modern era.
  18. Name me a better choke. 2nd. Two losses to interstate teams at the MCG including one that hadn't won there for 10 years. 4th. Dominate Collingwood to oblivion but still lose. Lose to a Carlton team that can barely run after kicking 9.17. You can quote me all you like. The COVID Flag was a [censored] flag won in front of a rent-a-crown while every long suffering supporter was locked up at home. 4 finals at the MCG since and we lose all 4. It's such a colossal choking job fit for a minnow club trying to fit in with the big boys.
  19. Hunter, Trac, Gawn, Rivers all huge in those last 10 mins.
  20. this is so uninspiring. I am sick of this.
  21. We're at 57% efficiency going forward. Our issue tonight is actually giving away territory on the flanks.
  22. At this point I'd sun Schache out midway through the third for McDonald.
