  1. -18% drop in 2 years. Shocking. That is embarrassing. Seven thousand fewer members than the Bulldogs, and the Saints, who have played in one finals series in a decade and have 1 flag.
  2. Worpel to Geelong lol they're taking the [censored] at this point.
  3. Gee The Age is campaigning hard for Buckley to go to Tassie. It's quite blatant.
  4. My guess is that Prelim week is a marker for the general public but the club pretty goes on break after the GF so at least then the coach will be in and ready to go for when players return from leave.
  5. Once again the AFL screws Melbourne!
  6. Was always going to happen. Even with three Hawthorn footprint in Tassie, Collingwood has a HUGE support base there. Getting Buckley on was always a priority.
  7. [censored] Freo as well. Their supporters are so weird. They have such a weird sense of self-worth. You'd think they were West Coast. Such an irrelevant club.
  8. It's Freo. Their gameplan is entirely "bring the opposition down to our level and then hope our mid-tier forwards snag a couple out of their [censored] to get us over the line". It pisses me off seeing Jackson and Bolton wasting their careers there. They are a [censored] club.
  9. I don't respect them at all. They are gifted tax payer money simply for the privilege of being in a voting belt held by the dominating party of the last half century. On top of that, all of the shenanigans they pull to get players there. It's blatantly shady. Players suddenly walking into large multimillion dollar properties. Partners suddenly in high paying jobs in the region. Players consistently taking far, FAR below their market value to a degree only seen there. Even Collingwood has their contract challenges. Somehow Geelong manages to re-sign stars on minimum wage. Yeah right! They've been doing it since the 90s and imo it really kicked into gear during the Thompson years. [censored] them.
  10. Carlton 2022 Semi tops it in my view. Footy kind of died for me that night.
  11. It's still Crows, Hawks or Pies for me. I reckon the Crows could get the Cats on the G.
  12. I've never wanted a team that isn't Melbourne to win more than I want Brisbane to win tonight.
  13. Weirdly probably the first time in my life I was barracking for Collingwood. Adelaide absolutely deserved that last night. After how their supporters carried on with the whole Rankine fiasco, and how cocky they have been all year, they were due for a belting. Loved seeing.
  14. Both Cripps is missing but so is Gawn. How many Captains are in the list? (Serious question)
  15. This is peak story manufacturing by Morris. How easy must it be to get a successful AFL journo career. If Buckley gets the job, Morris is right. If Buckley pulls out, Morris is right. If Buckley wants the job and doesn't get it, which is extremely unlikely, then Morris was right until he wasn't.
  16. Pity no one at the club will be able to read them.
  17. Hinkley got them to multiple Prelims. People widely underestimate how hard that is. Geelong, Collingwood are exceptions, not the rule. They make top 4 and got into a position to win. They ultimately faltered. Had we made at least one Prelim in 22 or 23, Goodwin would probably still be coach. Internally at AFL level, there is a lot of weight put onto Prelims. Also he had an okay list. Imv they significantly over performed with him as coach. The one year with him taking a back seat, they suddenly turn into a potato farm of a team. Not surprising. That said it was definitely time for a change.
  18. No doubt discussing today's slop of a track.
  19. "7-8 years experience". That gives me 'nam flashbacks to my post-uni job hunting days. "We are looking for a graduate with 40 years experience to be our unpaid intern for six months."
  20. I don't think his social media account is anything more than a branding exercise. It's all branded posts that are very specifically tied to his personal brand. I wouldn't read too much into it other than Christian probably ranks his marketability way higher than the general public does.
  21. My personal top 10 (in order), based on what I've personally witnessed. Max Gawn Clayton Oliver (until 2023) Jeff Farmer Gary Lyon Christian Petracca Jack Viney Angus Brayshaw Jim Stynes Kozzie Pickett The Ox Honourable mentions Steven May Adam Yze Sean White Brett Lovett Nathan Jones
  22. I have no idea. In my view all teams can win it. Historically, the best defensive teams have the best chance to win it. A few outliers but you can pick out teams who are scored against too easily, too often. gws and freo. I'd put money on one of Adelaide, Collingwood or Hawthorn. Gold Coast is a smokey if they get going.
  23. When you stop seeing ads on social media from AI agency bros. That's when you know the money has dried up.
  24. Gee, you couldn't ask for a better time to be looking for a coach. There isn't one person from that list that I wouldn't be happy with.
