  1. Out: JVR, Brayshaw, Langdon, McDonald In: Grundy, Tomlinson, Woewodin, Schache Woewodin to the wing. Not a fan of Schache but at least his turnaround game doesn't take him on a full orbit of the sun. Grundy has to play. Coaching misstep not to play him last night. Tomlinson fills the Brayshaw hole. Petracca floats forward way more. Langdon was Hollywood last night and played like a schoolboy. He plays unaccountable football and I'm sick of it. Sidebottom schooled him every time.
  2. Watched the replay. My advice to all here that were at the MCG: don't watch it. You'll be even more [censored] off. On TV it seems like a far bigger domination than it looked like in person. Pies seem to [censored] themselves at every single contest. Some of their goals... my god. They had at least 6 goals from turnovers I reckon. And they weren't even high pressure turnovers. Mostly from our F50 entries. Goodwin says we played good for 3 quarters. I know he's trying to keep a positive face but gee whiz if we play like that against Carlton it is straight sets comfortably. They will mop us up. We quite literally dominate around the ground until the flanks at which point we become slow, unsure... every single entry seems 1-2 seconds late. We lacked dare and pace going forward and it is so evident on TV. Carlton's defense is very good, they are very well matched against us. We have absolutely blown a home Prelim here, make no mistake. Last night was a team spooked early on, and then a team that choked late. They fought hard but that is a very tough loss to swallow.
  3. In isolation those are poor misses. The bigger story is we dominate key metrics but get spooked on the big stage. I'm not blaming Goodwin, but we always seem to have the same conversations after these losses. You can't win them all but tonight is up there with our loss last year against them in round 20 I think it was, and the Brisbane SF loss. Just filthy losses that you need to quickly move on from, but also can't because they are such bad games to lose. But we are like the fourth oldest team in the league now and we are badly wasting this opportunity. Do we really think Hill, Elliot, McStay and Cox/Cameron, and that spud Micock, are better than Fritsch, JVR, Pickett, ANB... my point being, you don't need a superstar to be winning you games. Collingwood base their game on turnovers and RUN RUN RUN to space. Our gameplan is... hope for a stoppage, hope we win the stoppage, take 2-3 seconds too long so that the opposition ruckman gets back, and then kick a suicide ball to a pack of 12 players. We grind teams down, which is great, but we never really looked like winning tonight. Maybe we've peaked but we badly need to open our game up a bit and back in our forwards into space. If we play Carlton next week it is going to be painful to watch. We'll be lucky to score 5 goals.
  4. Look, I like Goodwin. But this sort of loss is pretty standard for us. He needs to turn it around because +30 inside 50s and having 60+ only to still lose is really bad football. That was a really bad loss tonight. Up there with last year's Semi. We just aren't playing good finals football atm. We are choking big time. Melbourne's last three finals (all at the MCG): +40 inside 50s +13 clearances +7 centre clearances +6 stoppage clearances +44 contested possessions BUT only +4 scoring shots 0 wins 3 losses We're going to quickly have the choking tag applied to us if we don't start converting. Pies had McStay and [censored] Cameron kicking truly for them. Our best forward kicked it out on the full directly in front with the game there for the taking. We are choking hard.
  5. It hasn't worked and continuously gets out coached in big games. Goodwin is still learning but we are being coached to put ourselves in games to win. McRae could see how they were going to win and that's exactly how they did it. We were lucky to be so close, really. We fought back when it was still open for us but we lost it early
  6. If Blues beat Sydney we are odds on for a straight sets exit. I honestly cannot believe we couldn't score against them.
  7. sorry, i know we are short up forward but 60 entries and +30 on opposition, to lose, is [censored] disgusting, and happens too often under Goodwin.
  8. Very disappointing. Not out of it but Pies miles ahead. They play in second gear, switch on for a few minutes, kick a few goals to settle and that's it. Very disappointed in our structure and plan in transition. Badly out coached tonight. Our best players are all behind the ball. Pies are AT LEAST 6-7 goals better.
  9. We've got them on the ropes. They [censored] themselves at every contest. Langdon is a huge liability tonight though.
  10. You should see a doctor for that. Few days of antibiotics will clear it right up.
  11. Get behind the boys. We'll get it done.
  12. Never had more confidence in this team. Pies will start quick and slick. Once we steady it's over.
  13. Pies are spooked. Watch Cox come on and doing something early to get the crowd going before fading out. I've gained confidence as the week has gone on. They're talking big to compensate. This is going to be a tougher game for them than it is for us. I'll actually be surprised if we lose.
  14. The absolute state of Collingwood supporters whenever someone dare suggest that Melbourne might win. My god they are a fragile bunch.
  15. Squiggle has it bang on 50% with a slight tilt towards Collingwood. Not sure how that calculation works given most of the models are tipping Melbourne. Although the aggregate model that looks at the top 10 models has it at 50%, with Melbourne to win by...0 points. https://squiggle.com.au/game/?gid=34676 The only people I've seen confident about thia game are Collingwood supporters. The level of disrespect and disregard for us as a team as staggering.
  16. I plan on being so loud on Thursday. I'm normally pretty reserved but we have to be LOUD.
  17. Priority goes: 1. Gold nembers with competing club support 2. Gold members of non-competing support 3. Silver members of competing clubs 4. All other members. It never gets passed No.2. Unless you're a Gold members, AFL Membership rarely grants you GF access.
  18. I was looking forward to this weekend because with no football, I had planned to sink many hours into Starfield... until I discovered it was in "early access" and you have to pay $50 just to "unlock" it. I'll wait until next week to play it with Game Pass. I know that means nothing to most people here but just know there are far bigger scams in this world then the cost of AFL Finals tickets.
  19. I think both teams get a run on the G during GF week. Mostly for promotional purposes.
  20. There is only one person I go hard for and it's definitely not Sean Darcy.
  21. Should never have left the Dees.
  22. I work in internal comms for a company 10x the size of mfc. whoever was sending that out would have had it audited and reviewed prior to sending. no way they do it if the scans were bad. also, no update yet because the scans were precautionary and routine thus not announced by the club officially. therefore, no reason to proactively communicate the outcome given they didn't communicate the scan to begin with.
