  1. +++++++++++++++++++ Can't get any more positive then that...
  2. Round 20 - 2006 Melb - 132 Roos - 82 Following week we drew to the Cats in Geelong, then got pumped by the Crows in Adelaide in round 22. First round win of the finals against St. Kilda, a family member had passed away so I couldn't attend. Then we played in Perth and lost to Freo. First 9 rounds of last year (I went to all of the Melbourne matches) we lost all 9. Just before round 10 (and our win against Adelaide at the MCG which I would of attended had I been here), I left for Europe. I got back in the week leading up to our 2nd clash with the Pies. Went to watch Neita's 300. We lost. Final week against the Blues, I was in Sydney for work. We won. I went last week, we lost. Am I an omen? It's been a year and a half since I attended a victorious Melbourne Demons match.
  3. Bruce is a quality player...!!!!
  4. I don't think we have the worst draft history, but rather the worst club culture. I have no doubt all of those players probably would have been better players had they been at other clubs.
  5. He just needs to be fit this kid. Has the potential to be the next Brad Johnson, even better.
  6. Why ask if you're a fool for buying tickets to watch your team play? I say congrats and kudos to you, fine sir.
  7. Ones missing. "Cameron Bruce - Testicles" *waits to get flamed*
  8. Well I think this is easy. Nathan Carroll. /thread.
  9. Anyone notice at the MCG on Sunday on the big screen, it actually said "Melbourne V Western Bulldogs at Telstra Dome in Round 2." Perhaps the MCC's hidden message to the AFL?
  10. This is the biggest "QFT" I'm ever going to give.... QFT Jim Main. QFT! Especially love his idea on changing the face and guernsey of the club. I say we completely disregard "Demons". Mascot's are out of date. Fix up the bland jumper (I'm waiting for traditionalists to flame me), give it flash, be stern, on and off the field and strive for success, don't just make a plan and hope for it.
  11. Same, but I get an eerie "Wayne Brittain" type feeling from him. Remember, Brittain was supposed to lead Carlton back to the promised land after being Parkin's assistant for so long. You can say that Bailey come to being an AFL coach in the same manner; being an assistant to a relatively successful coach. Not trying to prove any logic here at all (and no, I don't think that "Good Assistant under good coach = bad coach) but I hope he doesn't turn out like Brittain.
  12. KrazyJay - Yep, they're pretty much the only ones imo.
  13. Wha.....??????~~~?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?! You mean, no one has outperformed Bruce in the last couple of years? No one???????? Jones? McLean in 06? Bartram (and he hasn't played in 10 years)??? I mean, Jones has outperformed everyone on this team CLEARLY in the last 15 or so home and away games. And you say dismantle as if he is such a champion player. To me, champion players win B&F's and make All-Australian teams. He hasn't done either.
  14. I don't see how I did that. Bob said that a player's bad performance can't be placed beside their ability to make an effort and have an influence. For example, Miller had a bad game on Sunday, but because he has endeavour he is excused and is not soft? To me, Miller is the type of player that is hard physically, but mentally isn't. To me, having one and not the other is classified as "soft". He's low on confidence and quality footballers don't get low on confidence. They lift when needed. Miller is a hard-nut that can't kick further then 40 meters. He's a show pony like Yze; Yze likes the classy kicks and big marks, Miller likes the hard hits and fights, yet both rarely put in a good game. Bruce is weak physically. Mentally is up for debate because I think he's injured atm, but he's always been soft physically. He clearly backs out of contests and craps in his shorts everytime a player is running for him. If you can't see that, you're blind. You can't have one or the other. You need to have both. And even if Bob's logic is accurate, how can you justify 2 poor seasons by Green? Yze? White? Don't say age. Because in that case they should be retired. Any team that loses by 100+ points in a season is filled with softy's. How often do you see a premiership side lose by that much? Not often. Melbourne is full of push-overs, Green, Miller and Bruce the leaders in that category.
  15. People seem to be forgetting that a lot of us here and a lot of the people who do care are the ones that do "support" the club and pay membership fees etc. etc. A major part in that whole "support" aspect is being able to criticise where appropriate. I have a right to complain and winge. I pay my money and invest, so why not? I mean, I could sit back and have "faith" and be all jolly and believe they can win next week, but that would be fitting the typical Melbourne stereotype and that would be the epitome of being a weak dog, someone who can't admit a problem when there is wrong and get angry and critical when it's highly appropriate.
  16. Soft = physically AND mentally. And just because you play AFL football doesn't mean you're automatically a hard nut and derived of not being soft. Players have been sacked for being soft in the past, I'm sure.
  17. Not Whelan. Not big enough. Bell or Bruce.
  18. Meh. No different then the rubbish we were hearing last year during the 9-loss start. "We're hurting too." "We need to improve." "Don't write us off."
  19. Silly people here. Maurie Lithen, by this logic, if a coach has a bad record at one team, comes to another club and has a bad record there, then whatever club he coaches is probably going to have a poor record, correct? Bohdan had a poor record at another club. He's come here, and the same thing is happening. This has nothing to do with fate or coincidence. Clearly the man doesn't do his job right.
  20. It's OK when you have one or two soft players, but when your leadership and highest rated players are soft (Bruce, Green, Miller, Yze, White, Newton etc. etc.) you have a problem. This team has been put together with purety and skill in mind, not skill and toughness. We could have gotten away with this team in 2002, but not anymore.
