*Raises hand* I was justified in wanting them dropped. They didn't perform. They were lucky to still be in the team, and they performed when we needed them too. Kudos to them. But I don't take back wanting them to be dropped. They got lucky. If a player doesn't perform, he gets dropped. Simple. I have no doubt Robbo, Moloney and Macca got a good blasting at half-time.

Awesome. Thanks.

Rivers could have gone the whole game without touching the ball and he still would have had an influence. He intercepted about 5 direct passes to Pavlova and punched away quite a few seemingly easy marks from the Freo forwards.

Great win, great comeback, perfect second half...BUT

4th May, 2008 - What A great Day for Demon Fans
praha replied to MrMoose's topic in Melbourne Demons
I was very, very, VERY close to leaving at half-time. I thought I'd stay till at least half-way through the third. Lucky I did. I feel guilty for even considering leaving now. -
He is the epitome of the Fremantle Football Club; a show pony with not all that much to show for.

If you can make it to the G this week and dont show up...

best ever comeback? I'm sure there have been a few 50+ point comebacks. Essendon down by 65 or whatever against North in 2001 comes to mind. -
It was only Fremantle

First win I've attended in almost 2 years. Woohoo!

McNamee: We're in the market for a marquee player

I believe it when I see it. -
Dockerland says Melbourne is "useless".

And what exactly says we're not useless? Our winning record or our large, money-making marketing brand? -
I thought of Judd after reading this post from a Bigfooty poster in reference to someone saying Judd should just be treated as a normal opponent and therefore not booed: Welcome to Subiaco Oval. Upon entry, we request that you complete this short questionnaire. Did you: (A) Captain the team you are opposing to a premiership? (B) Benefit greatly through team and individual success from playing in a talented team which was partially structured around your talents? © Claim during 2007 that the only place you would like to live in 2008 was Claremont? (D) Leave your opponent (whilst Captain, during a tumultuous period when leadership was required), citing 'being close to friends and family' as your reasons? (E) Narrow your choice of preferred clubs down to a list of 4, based on the prospects for your future career, including training facilities? (F) Narrow your list down to one club (in the process eliminating the club you supported as a child which was also in need of leadership and quality experienced players, and the only club on the list of 4 to experience finals football in 2007), that being the worst performed club over the last 5 years with relatively poor facilities, which happens to have a billionaire president, and demand to be traded to that club only? (G) Do you now work as an environmental ambassador for the company owned by the aforementioned billionaire? (H) Are you a smug, arrogant, conceited individual? (I) All of the above. If you answered yes to one or any of the above, then unfortunately you do not qualify as 'any other visiting player'. Thank you and good day. I didn't think Chris Judd was ever going to choose Melbourne. The sad thing is, I know a few Eagles supporters and I've read a few opinion who expected and wanted him to come to Melbourne. This perception had a lot to do with his (perceived) personality of him being a genuine guy with somewhat sense of loyalty. Had he chosen Melbourne, I don't think Eagles fans would have booed him as aggressively as they did tonight when we would travel there. I think that Eagles supporter summed up Judd perfectly. Upon leaving WC and going to Carlton, I genuinely think he lost a lot of respect from the football public, especially those who look into it a little close then the obvious. He had the potential to become a genuine superstar with a quiet personality and special traits that replicate the charasmatic feeling generated from Michael Jordan, but the quiet confidence generated from Tiger Woods. Now, to me, he's just a really, really good player with the potential to become a great player. If you have a look at the great players, they were very rarely hated by opposition supporters: Ablett, Lockett, Carey etc. Instead, they were admired. Now, evertime I see Judd, I just envy Carlton and my hatred for the man increases. He now comes off as a conieving, money hungry traitor that bails at any sign of trouble. I pray to god Carlton continues to draft poorly (though I don't think they will) Sorry for this rant, a little drunk :S

That dramatic increase in percentage is why Bailey should have his 3 year contract extended to 7 years, at least! That really is the work of a genius!

Don't regret missing it, even though Jones and Bruce were on. Love the footy show and newman, but Lost >>>>> The Footy Show. Lost is on at 10:30 next week (probably because of low ratings) so I can fit in an hour of the show.

I have one from 1997. It's been washed so much the red has turned to pink. No s***.

It is bad memories but boy was it a good game. Great return year to the finals for the Dees. But let's be honest, we would never have beaten Carlton.

15 Colin Sylvia possessions = 40 Cameron Bruce possessions
praha replied to Yze_Magic's topic in Melbourne Demons
Effective possessions are possessions that hit a teammate. They obviously don't count deliveries to opponents by fluke or to opponents under pressure. -

I'll be there...unfortunately. -
Same. Only player with a bit of heart.

WC could get pick 60 for the next 20 years and they'd still make the finals 18/20 years. When you have their facilities, coaches and departments that they have, you can't help but NOT suck when playing for WC. Even Steven Armstrong was decent. They don't need pick 1. Whatever pick they get, that player will end up being better then our highest pick in this years draft.

16k. They'll give tickets away to the Chinese and inflate the numbers.

No. He isn't Mr. Magoo. He is Mr. Bean.

Mum just told me of the radio banter. They say they haven't seen a team play this bad so consistently in a long, long time. Whether that means 12 years going back to Fitzroy or not, I don't know, but they've utterly lost the plot. This team has the ability to literally cripple the Melbourne FC.
-
Turned it off. I have better things to do then watch a hack of a team coached by a hack of a coach. Bailey is gone in a few weeks. Mark my words. They're playing as bad, if not worse, than Fitzroy in 96. Our list is better than Essendon's and better than Carlton's, yet we can't implement a simple gameplan. I hate the "new coach, new gameplan" excuse. How many times do we see a new coach start off with an 0-5 record, which will blow out to god knows what? He's gone.

Average first quarter. Back-line held firm. Mid-field fell apart in the center. No one to kick to up forward. Story of the year. I'm starting to think our backline is A LOT better then what people give it credit for. They have been under pressure constantly all year.
