Could be the second coming of Jetta in that he's a player on the brink that has stepped up in an area we've needed.I If he can improve his defensive game and his style can remain consistent with how he played on the weekend, our backline will only get stronger. It all starts with your defense.
-
What makes you think he's fit?
-
Considering how we've been, the fact we have 35,000 while both North and Footscray are still in the vicinity despite playing Prelims and finals is staggering. Imagine if we were playing *decent* football? Not even finals, just decent, competitive football? We'd be pushing 50,000. It's true that Melbourne has been an indictment on the league. We've turned away our own fans for too long. You can't expect people to buy a crap product. It's a miracle we even cracked 30,000 tbh. Well done to the membership team. If we crack 8 wins this year we'll hit 40,000 next year.

Viney will probably go through Casey. That sort of injury means minimal running and you'd think he'd be a bit underdone just working on the bike and in the pool. Needs to get a run in the seconds first. Not a serious injury but he wouldn't have been able to run for a month.

Give me a break. I acknowledge he had a decent game but we should expect more. All I'm saying is that Morton had some blinders and when he did everyone on here said he was the next best thing.
-
Jones was good but he cost us a goal at an important time. Not a game breaker but it was shocking. Still one of our best but I felt Pederson was more influential for more of the game than both Jones and Vince.

When will Melbourne break these embarrassing records?

And who can forget that second 90+ point belting in a row! The beginning of the end. -
The M Jones hit was fair game. Running after the player with the ball, in the contest, Bulldogs player collected him on the shoulder as a shepard, no head-high contact. Jones just doesn't have great awareness and was loose and knocked down. Nothing in that.

Morton had a few good games. we need consistency.

When was the last time we won by more than 6 goals?
-
10 goal last quarter for the Dogs coming up.

That was the best and worst of Melbourne at the same time. 12 minutes ago I was ready to murder someone.

Pinpoint accuracy by Spencer.

1 inside 50 in 17 minutes. Get stuffed you losers!
-
This is going to get ugly.
-
Heard this all before. Heard in 2010 and during parts of 2011. Waiting for action.

Petrified. I could handle a tight loss but if we get belted, I'll put the cue in the rack for the year. This match has a similar feeling to the GWS one at the MCG last season.
-
Oh god...have we really turned to taking pride in teams losing the week after they belt us?
-
They were bad 2002-2008 but we have been worse from 07-15, particularly 12-15.They had the worst record in the 00s of all teams and even though we made the finals 5 years we still had 13th worst record. Shows how bad we were when we were bad.

LOL Beat me to it. Neeld gets the rough end of the stick around here but nothing he did was theoretically any different to what Roos is trying to do. Newton, vandenBerh are just Terlich and Jones 2.0 Roos has added a bit more experience but ultimately it's the same defensive and disciplined focus structure to turn the club around.

I have a feeling this is going to get ugly 6-8 goal loss.

Most of our midfielders our down on disposals. Jones Cross Tyson Vince All down on previous years.

Gee, Watts straight back in after a decent at best performance in the VFL. I certainly think at his best he's in our top 22 but if he has a bad outing this week, it will be telling. Clearly Roos and the FD think he is required for this week's match-up so he must be an important in for the team. Must perform.

Stretch had a very solid game against Sydney and was a no-show in his 2nd game against the reigning premiers. Give him a break. Seemed ready to me. Good for him to be blooded in that capacity.
