  1. 2nd year blues ? I think, he is one of the younger players who got ahead of himself last Off-season. .
  2. I think May will replace OMc. Lever replace Frosty. And when they settle in... I think Petty will come on in leaps, in games he's required. I reckon Petty is penciled in to eventually replace May, when he's at retiring stage.
  3. Brayshaw needs to Re-focus and work on his delivery into F50. Wasting his talents. Oliver needs to gain some more composure with the ball. hitting more targets. Too many of his disposals are turn overs to the opposition. Wasting his talents. Weideman to get his body right and healthy. Petracca, needs to get a real body spec's form, to work at, and at the same time spend his off-season to really work on his kicking... Field-kicking, and set-shots... I would like him to start working now, on his Non-Preferred side, kicking and hand-balling. Developing a stronger non-preferred side, could help him to change his natural side. .
  4. Usually after an NRL score, the referee will call on the 3rd umpire, to check the lead-up play... checking on a number of possible issues, proior to the TRY being officially awarded. ... things like 'offside', 'interference', 'ball-grounding', and others. Tthe final plays leading to the goals, are game-changers... IF, some concern exists, then a 3rd umpire review can happen.
  5. ... and played like fairy-floss Dr.
  6. spot on here, 58er... but more, we need new cattle, with good kicking ability, starting in around 10 days time, hopefully. And end of this season. I wish, I was in charge of recruiting 3 or so years back.
  7. They will only get rubbed out if they act violently.
  8. The same should have happened when smith was dumped hitting his head in a sort of stop play action. Pinned arms and smashed into the ground. i don't blame Jetta, but I do our players for not remonstrating vigorously... which no doubt would have caused the umpires to reflect again, on his initial decision.
  9. You don't know that, 'bm'. Simply, reamaining passive, in an aggressive contact sport, is unacceptable.
  10. I've grown up with Greek-Australian and Itailan-Australan mates. and many of them are mummies boys and have to have tyres pumped up constantly. They mostly all fear criticism, and get defencive around home truths. ... and get their backs up, in a sort of spite... Hold they're breaths IF you will. Pardon this PUN. (respectfully) I wonder if Tracca's cultural connections keep him maintaining excess bulk on board... also maybe his own insecurities almost make him want to stay heavier for his size. If this was true, it doesn't work... because the opposition simply play bigger opponents against him, who invariably are 3 or 4 inches taller. Bigger better defenders. So from this he lacks the freedom he would have imv, from playing in the centre.
  11. I like your thinking. I would Not play him up in Darwin. Nor the QB game. Let him come back in for a regulur day game, where he doesn't have to do any super human feats in his 1st game back.
  12. There was nothing to defend in the goal square, and if a push and shove happened in the goal square, the kick could not be taken.. . The umpires would have rushed in to sort things. The Perfect time to stand up with a show of Force. It didn't happen, mores the pity.
  13. MC's ??? While Robbie was setting great examples... we were the Hawks biaatchers. they were winning everything, with the Bombers. and we were the trend setters of fair.
  14. I've never liked to bag the umpires either as they do have a tough gig. But that is during the game more-so. But this is on a footy forum where people speak they're own truths, to others of a similar colour... In the privacy of a teams forums... sort of like the supporters locker rooms. So this is a debriefing exercise. You don''t need to protect the underdogs in here. This is an umpire free zone, macca. I'm feeling a bit flat, but that's the norm of late. sleep apnea has hit hard... so I'm constantly low on go juice. atmo... Actually been lower since around the time Bobby passed. the election is more a shock.
  15. His antithesis. that might just be a good idea. 'db'... some of that confidence might just rub off on Tracca.
  16. Of course they happen Macca, as often as not, in many games. but make up your mind... do you want us to be One eyed supporters... or level headed and politically correct supporters of the fair kind ? I want us to win... and so I want us supporters to be fierce during games... and then lose the 'white-line-fever', Once the final-siren sounds. .
  17. I disagree with this. We have to make it happen... a supporting fortess.... this is something our supporters can work on doing. ourselves. Whilst the club is working on the players, and on building memberships... and home bases. . don't want to smile yet, don't want to climb yet.. for what. I'd rather be 15th right now, from the start we've had & where we are on the ladder... until 2 rounds time, thanks all the same.
  18. Are you trying to shut the supporters up... from complaining about the umpires decisions ??? On one hand, it seems your trying top shut us up... then on another hand, you mention the Eagles stadium as Fortress like, with seeming admiration. What is it you are after in all this, Macca ?
  19. Fortress, absolutely... this is, one of what we need. Not necessarily, if he plays as the extra back... releasing a defender like Salem to run/carry the ball far up-field.
  20. Agreed, 'f_d'... He doesn't work anywhere Near as hard as the big Dipper did. Dipper was always up and down the ground from the wing, like a lumbering bulldozer. He worked hard with the ball in his area. And opponents were always wary.
  21. I agree , but I think Frosty has recently been used sweeping defence I don't know where he starts, but if he plays sweeper, then others must be manning they're forwards ? Oh, I think Perovic played CHB with the Saints.
  22. T'anks Mrs... Yep, he returned to his best palming of 2018, this week... BUT his marking did drop off. We need Marks thru the Mid section. Offensive marking, and Defensive marking, thru the mid ground... when we can control the air thru this area, we have the pressure-relief valve on our side. OK, first to mind is AVdBerg... deeBurger. next Viney. after that ? I would say likely Preuss.? Let me check the list ......................... Following that, possibly May ? Other than Viney, we have bugga-all, 'Up in your face players'. The other night Eagles have some, and that Don Sheed looks likely.
  23. The 80's Hawks had unsociable players in every sector of the field Dipper, Eade... Ayers and others, down back... Dermie, Matthews forward... and they all swapped roles on occasions. Obviously these days are not the 80's... but the same intimidatory style of play, is enough to make most lose some focus on the ball. And the game is about focus, and skills, and maintaining the focus. So the opposite is also true, to be able to counter opponents focus. These Are the tests to sort the best from the rest ... and the elite from the Best. This is one of our unique parts to our game, and politically correct others would want to cut it from the game.
