  1. Agrer 100% and i posted the same at 7:30am this morning. The fact that no one else has run with it after approx 20 hours now says all that needs to be said. When slobbo broke the story about the filth with recreation drugs it was everywhere. No one at work today even mentioned it around the water cooler. Time to move on.
  2. I think the same article mentioned Greg Swan sounded reasonably keen for Brisbane to get involved. A team who's struggling financially, has 11 games available to sell and being a Queensland team, makes perfect sense from a tourism point of view. I suspect it will be one of us, Bulldogs or Brisbane. Hope not us.
  3. http://www.news.com.au/sport/afl/essendon/essendon-bombers-coaching-great-kevin-sheedy-says-all-round-1-games-should-be-played-overseas/news-story/de72c921d5de726dc3f2180a9d5effab Well done Sheeds, if you were trying to think of a way to alienate the football public, this would be it.
  4. In relation to the Bock case. The national anti-doping agency said Dank continued to be unhelpful. The statement also said that ASADA needed reliable evidence to pursue doping allegations.
  5. Final team will be interesting. Expecting Pedersen, Nibbler and one of Stretch or Wagner to be the unlucky emergencies.
  6. Nothing to see here. Investigated, cleared, have records and from memory any injections the players were having back then were from the doctor. Not some nurse in an off site tanning salon. Can't be investigated again unless new evidence comes to light and Dank has said he wont speak to ASADA. Also if this story had legs, don't you think other journo's would also be all over it? Yet as of 7:30am this morning, nothing on the AFL, The Age or Herald Sun websites. What are the odds this story disappears after sunday?
  7. The filth have upgraded 211cm rookie ruck Mason Cox. Think if he plays we'll be forced to bring in Oscar. Oscar on Moore, Dunn on Cloke and Tom on whichever of Cox or Grundy is resting forward.
  8. I hope not. Given we wont even be getting the gate, the only thing we'd be getting would be exposure to millions of people who could care less about AFL. Unless the AFL pay us $1000's to do it with a bye the following week, i don't see the benefit.
  9. 'The Power, who have already broadcast a match into China this season through the country's China Central TVnetwork, say they will not sacrifice a home game at Adelaide Oval if the overseas match goes ahead. The AFL is yet to announce who Port Adelaide would play but said it had an agreement with a second club. The Power have stressed they would maintain all the benefits of a home team for the proposed match.' This just gets worse and worse! So they're not going to give up a home game, but will get all the financial benefits from it. How the [censored] does that work! Who would be stupid enough to go along with that? Yeah we'll give up a home game to play in China for zero benefit what so ever.......
  10. So that would mean a home game in Shanghai, Darwin & Alice Springs. What are the odds we still get drawn to play a home game at Etihad also, reducing us to only 7 home games at the G. I hope it isn't us! Port want to do it, they can cop it!
  11. Yep, I can see them wasting heaps of money to do up the Birds Nest for one AFL match. Money well spent!
  12. Someone will agree to do it on the condition they have a bye the following week. This is what we should do with our Darwin game each year.
  13. Correct! And for your correct answer, you win the grand prize of a Calotto Ham that will be sent to you in the mail. Calotto, the great taste of ham. Mmmmm!
  14. Max King didn't play Saturday Night, so whatever it was, it must be minor. He's pretty important now given Mitch King and Spencils injuries.
  15. Poor kid. Looked ok to. Took a nice strong mark early on.
  16. It's funny. Garland & Hulett both had 17 disposals, however didn't stand out much to me at all. Oscar has 18 & White 21, only a few more possessions each, yet I thought they both stood out much more.
  17. After watching him Saturday Night I was left with the impression he probably just needed one more hitout.
  18. Gives someone like Nibbler or even Hunt (some outside run) an opportunity. Also means it's time for Dom Tyson to stand up!
  19. It was just Fr_ap opinion. I agree with him re: Garland. I actually think he could struggle to get back in the side as I see more benefit in playing Oscar ahead of him and potentially even Mitch White. Where as we had differing opinions on Pedersen. I thought Pedersen was quite good and provided a strong target. I had him down as kicking 2.3 and I also note he was named in the best, but it's always a matter of opinion. Was a good write up either way.
  20. 36 possessions & two goals a fortnight ago, followed by a near BOG match for Casey Saturday Night. Has shown he has good goal awarness and is an elite runner. Watched him closely Saturday Night, and while his hands in close are very good, he showed an improved ability to also get the ball on the outside and generate some run, despite the fact he isn't super fast. Think he's going to be a very good player. Said in my run down on Saturday Night that I see a lot of Robert Harvey in the way he goes about things. Lets hope he's half as good.
  21. Would love it, given the game was over 24 hours ago, if when the club puts the video up they could add commentary. Dr Turf & Rob Sitch could do a good job!
  22. Agreed re: MaGuire to sack Buckley. The only was Buckley will be sacked will be the same way our board incorrectly sacked swooper at the end of 92'. Just not renew his contract, they wont actually sack him. Hardwick could be gone by mid year depending on how things play out.
  23. I conceed there's no way they'd make this many changes to a team that only lost by 5 points. But personally i'd go with; IN: Brayshaw, Garlett, O. McDonald, Neal-Bullen, Pedersen OUT: Bugg, Frost, M. Jones, Vandenberg, Wagner FB: O. McDonald, Dunn, Jetta HB: Lumumba, T. McDonald, Salem C: Tyson, N. Jones, Kennedy HF: Oliver, Pedersen, Kent FF: Watts, Hogan, Garlett FOLL: Gawn, Vince, Viney INT: Brayshaw, Harmes, Neal-Bullen, Stretch EMERG: Bugg, Garland, Hunt Wagner's not ready, the Frost forward experiment should end, we all know M. Jones isn't best 22, Vandenberg is under performing and Bugg seems to just be a fraction off IMO. However if Vince gets suspended i'd say he should keep his place. Petracca could just about be ready by round 5, so guys like Harmes & Kent will need to back up their improved performances with even better showings vs the filth.
  24. He ran well. I don't know if he'll ever be a genuine line breaker, but he moved well and never came close to being caught with the ball. I see him as a taller version of Josh Hunt, a good 3rd or 4th tall. I hope he's the natural eventual replacement of Garland. He looks heavier, but that could be that he's become broader around the cheast. He was quite thin last year so he has natural muscle to develop. I'm certainly a fan, i'll say that much.
