21 vs 22 with Dawes out there, we need a genuine fwd ruck if we're to be a serious competitor
-
I hate the idea, if they insist on bringing this in I hope that it's player loans only, with the loaning club able to recall the loaned player at any point in time.

It'll be a MacfFlurry. -
Up at 7:30 here in Melbourne on holidays with the family. My 8 year old is booked into the pre game clinic for a kick on the MCG. Our first time to the ground. Can't wait but a bit nervous about the game.

Rd 9 vs Brisbane: 3 - N. Jones 2 - J. Hogan 1 - D. Rich

Yep, Newts and ANB will surely have to play out of their skins to try and lock in a place in the 1st 22. I'm looking forward to seeing them back in.
-
Apologies if someone's already said this, but can we call this the "Deemond Defence"?

Rd 8. 3- Bontempelli 2- Liberatore 1- Hunter

Nathan Jones on AFL On the Couch - 16 May

You may be onto something, don't those schemes only work when you have more and more people "buying in"? -
Nathan Jones on AFL On the Couch - 16 May

I'm not sold on this plan, if the opposition half forwards follow our flankers then it creates a nice and open forward line for them should we lose the centre clearance. I'd prefer the wingers to play the same role as the half backs and charge into the middle with forward momentum. -
Jetta gone for a week, Vince free to play.

Hadn't seen the duryea incident until just then. That really is a joke the two incidents are almost identical. They both deserve the same penalty or lack thereof. -
Imo, frost and Pedo competed for the fwd/ruck spot at the start of the year with Pedo taking the honours, albeit not that convincingly. Now that that's settled until Dawes comes back in the frame, Frost is finally now being groomed for his predestined KpD spot. I reckon the Spencer/Gawn combination could be a good one now that big Maxy is playing with so much confidence. Stick him in the goal square when he's not rucking and he'll be anightmare matchup for opposition defences, the way Sandilands used to always worry defenders when he went forward.

Diamond defence didn't work on the weekend maybe a rhombus defence next time. Seems a very risky strategy that will result in a scoring chance nearly every time we lose a centre clearance. -

Agreed, he's lucky he didn't land the elbow properly. It was reckless and unnecessary and if a dogs player had done it to one of ours we'd surely be calling for a suspension. Missing Jetta will hurt. Door opens up for J Grimes? -
Biggest difference between him and Viney is the attack on the ball. Tyson always seems to receive the ball at clearances standing still whereas Viney and Jones more often are hitting the ball with some speed when they get it.
-
Tyson is constantly tackled as soon as he gets the ball and usually doesn't free his arms to get the ball out. He's gone backwards this year. MFC - fit of fumbles

Chocolate to boiled lollies for Harmes today. He's been very ordinary today. Not alone unfortuanately. They've schooled us in tackling pressure today.
-
very noticeable how much cleaner the Dogs are around the clinches today.
